I love the idea that there's potentially more "Illegitimate" septims being around.
It's not even all that unlikely, just not documented.
Maybe that's how the player in skyrim is dragonborn?
Also a number of collateral/cognatic descendents. Like even Uriel himself wasn't a male line descendent of Tiber Septim
@frederikklotzskov9673 That's what I think. If the Dragonborn's ancestors managed to survive the Oblivion Crisis and Aldmeri Dominion, that is. I came up with a little story that when Martin Septim was wild and a devout of Sanguine, he had an unknown illegitimate child that somehow survived and continued the Septim Dynasty, leading to the Skyrim Dragonborn after many generations.
@@DAG0TH-URTheGod that is a really cool head canon, and it works with everyone except for the beast races. (Not saying he never got lusty with an Argonian or Khajiit, just that you’re not gonna get any bouncing baby bastards)
A friend of mine theorized the dragonborn emperors all come from the same lineage, just from illegitmate branches. To him, Dovahkiin is just another descendant of Alessia.
I always found it weird how Uriel Septim's sons were all in their 50's, yet had no children of their own.
Uriel Septim clearly never played Crusader Kings.
It's going to be Game Over for the Septim Dynasty.
It will be quick Game Over for the Septim Dynasty.
I can't 😂
Honestly wouldn't mind a " somehow Cepherus septim returned" plotline
skyrims plot was originally going to be this but for uriel V
Nah "Somehow Uriel V returned, and he's brought dragons" Daenery style
7:17 good question we see priest and preistess that are married in skyrim, Dinya Balu and Maramal are married and Alessandra is the duagther of a priest of Arkay, the player can even marry some of the priestesses in the temple of Dibella excluding Hamal. I don't know if it would be defrint in Cyrodiil though.
This perfectly coincides with me replaying oblivion for the first time in almost a decade. So crazy how things work out
Thank you man TES world is the place I go in my head whenever I feel down and you always help to detail it more. Your videos are always like brainfood for me and I cant thank you enough to be the keeper of the love of the elder scroll for a lot of person. Once again TY and happy new year (sry for bad english)
Never stop making these IP, you're the reason I love TES so much :)
This is a great and informative video! I always wondered about them.
3:11 not trying to be harsh, but it's pronounced 'coo', as in the sound a pigeon makes; a 'coop' is where pigeons live.
Appreciate you may not be working in your first language, but when I did always preferred to be corrected by a native speaker. Great video all the same!
Awesome video love your imperial characters videos!
i just discovered your channel and have watched a lot of the videos already while doing my work on computer.
amazing content, please keep giving us such cool videos.
have an amazing 2025,
mihail
I hope the Septim family returns, the Empire needs them.
A lot of people meme about trapping their enemy’s soul and then tossing the weapon in the trash. What actually happens to a soul when it’s trapped?
the soul goes to the ideal masters who, in exchange for the soul, enchant the weapon with magical power. the soul is not in the weapon. however souls do stay inside and conscious in soulgems
They go to the soul cairn
Did you even play the games g?
@@HeldIntegral literally only 2 of the worst elder scrolls games mention the ideal masters. i don't blame him for not knowing
If you mean throwing the soul gem away, the soul would indeed stay in the gem until it is used. What that experience is actually like I’m not sure. You do get to go inside Azura’s Star, but I doubt that is indicative of all soul gem experiences.
On the other hand, talking to St. Jiub in the Soul Cairn reveals that many souls there don’t know they’re in the soul cairn or even dead. So regardless of how long you spend in the Soul Gem you’ll probably only perceive getting sent to the Soul Cairn.
Uriel Septim is like the Tudors in this regard.
As a descendant of them, thanks? Lol
@@vexile1239 Unfortunately direct blood heirs stopped with Elizabeth who only produced bastards. They called her the Virgin Queen but that was a publicity stunt when quietly she had a bunch of suitors.
I did learn something new :D
My Dragonborn is a Nord. Both her parents are cyrodillic nords. Ive always had it that she is the descendent to Martin septim.
He met a girl in the sanguine cult and had a sort of relationship with her before realising his wrongs and leaving the cult behind. Not knowing the women he was with was pregnant.
By the time she found out martin was long gone, and she fled the cult to not be sacrificed.... And so on 200 years later the last dragborn is in Skyrim....
shouldve never casted the minotaurs out
I always assumed the dragon born was a descendant of a septim bastard
Thanks for making this video! This is an interesting bit of the lore ngl; it's a shame we don't know more about them.
Arielle Septim - correctly spelled as _Ariella_ - was only mentioned in the French version of Arena's game manual, which was based off an earlier draft of its world building. However, since it doesn't contradict anything, it's treated as canon. Since she hasn't been mentioned in any other material after this, it's clear Bethesda either forgot about her or that she isn't canon (I believe that she is at least semi-canon, as we haven't been told she didn't exist. Schrodinger's Princess).
In _The Real Barenziah_ book series, we learn that Prince Geldall, Prince Enman and Prince Ebel were separated and sent to various prisons disguised as schools during the Imperial Simulacrum. It's likely that Princess Ariella was sent to one as well, if she wasn't imprisoned elsewhere or murdered by Jagar Tharn.
During the events of Morrowind in 3E 427, a massive riot occured in The Imperial City. Many people, including mages, were paranoid that the Emperor's sons were actually döppelgangers created by Tharn and demanded that they be destroyed. They charged against Imperial Legion soldiers and the city guard, and many died. It's possible Ariella was killed during the rioting, if she chose to intervene or was caught up in it somehow. Since Emperor Uriel only mentions his sons in Oblivion's intro sequence, this - or Tharn disposing of her somehow - is likely what happened to her (if she did exist).
Ngl, it's sad that Geldall was murdered by Tamrialle, and that she and the Mythic Dawn turned out to be the cause of his brothers' deaths as well his father's. First they grow up in a household with parents who hate each other, then their father is replaced by a scheming battle mage who takes his appearance and sends each of them alone to prison 'schools,' then after their father is freed they're regarded as fake. The eldest of them, their sister, possibly dies or disappears altogether. And when the eldest of them actually marries, THAT ends up dooming them all. We don't know much about them, but the Emperor's heirs had hard lives and in the end, they were all heartlessly murdered :(
Lastly, about Calaxes Septim. If he wasn't given the position of Archbishop, was secreted away and was raised in a different environment like Martin, it's possible he would've lived during the events of Oblivion. It's wild how this guy is mentioned in one book and never again afterwards; also, the date of Calaxe's death - 29th of Sun's Dusk, 3E 498 - either implies that _Words and Philosophy_ is from alternate timeline or that it's just an error, and the actual year was 3E 398. Also, smth that's slightly related to this -- it's interesting how that royal personal guard who killed Calaxes, Allena Benoch, appeared in Legends. It's fitting that her card was powerful and was lethal, meaning she could insta-kill another enemy card in just one hit.
All this sounds like it would be easily adapted into a Game of Thrones style show
NO
Urial Septim VII isn’t the sweet old kind man people think he is.
Yeah, that part of him is primarily explored in Daggerfall, a stark contrast to his brief appearance in oblivion
That man's child mortality rate is nothing compared to Bachs
LONG LIVE THE THALMOR
Wasn't it somewhere hinted or insinuated that Arielle is/was Witch-Queen of Whiterun? Or am I misremembering something...
wait, this is a new vid ?
Always has been
@@frederikklotzskov9673yeah but like 90% of the time when these videos pop up its like really old stuff that ive seen before
story about the greatness of the Thalmor and why you should join them when?
SKYRIM BELONGS TO THE NORDS!
@@kumariashamaki4151 SKYRIM BELONGS TO THE FALMER!!!
I think he did that as an april fools vid one year
@AldmeriDominionKnowledge long dead RIP BOZO!
I'm beginning to think the Thalmor already won and that's why we haven't gotten TES6
I mean, since ya play as the Dragonborn in Skyrim, ya mostly likely a decedent of a Septim.
ah yes, an argonian descendant
Mmmm...
Might be a bit awkward when the LDB is a Khajiit or an Argonian.
Or even the elven races might be pushing it a bit.
No wondered he died, bro couldn’t stay faithful lol 😂
