Maybe a weird request: could you maybe do a Video about resurrection in the Elder Scrolls? Because it feels like something that works in TES, but seamingly isn't a part of it. Some of the daedra, especially Molag Bal, seem to love bringing people back, either as living or undead. Individuals like Wulfharth and the Nerevarine apparently were brought back several times. In early Lore, priests in temples could apparently resurrect dead people, and it seems there is at least one case in the current Lore, where a priest resurrected a dead Boy. And hagravens can apparently also resurrect the reachfolk, though I read somewhere, that their resurrection spell is an instant version of the briarheart ritual? And then I recently found the Song "Pray to the Hunter", where in its music video, it seems like the man is resurrected at the end. And from what little I was able to find, it seems like the Song is canon?
This is absolutely fantastic. As someone who loves to talk about Tamrielic lore, it is SO nice to have topics like this condensed into one place. Now I can point to branching/webbing events in history like how the goings on of the Tharn family in 2E eventually tie into the Imperial Simulacrum committed by Jagar Tharn in the Third Era, or how King Aeradan Camoran is one of the dominoes that eventually leads to The Camoran Usurper who may or may not have fathered Mankar Camoran, leader of the Mythic Dawn that ended the Third Era.

The third era empire is a history of autonomous regions waging war against other autonomous regions within or beyond the province or several regions within a province having a insurrection within against the empire. With the empire either sending a peace keeping force and diplomats looking for a peaceful solution or helping loyalists put down the insurrection. The third empire may of well not exist given how autonomous the regions In a province is let alone the province itself. An equivalent is if the American states constantly waged war against other states while all belonging to the US with counties within a state also rebelling against the country or the state or counties attacking other counties.
I like how Ulfric is responsible for creating the conditions that lead to his own rebellion gaining traction & leading him to break free from the empire. Talos worship wasn't really outlawed in anything but name until he tried to force somewhere to be allowed to practice it & thus he gave the Thalmor more power in the region of skyrim. Which actually makes sense knowing Ulfric betrayed the empire & helped the Thalmor & still does showing he is likely being supported by them to break away from the empire as it'd remove their last major source of warriors. Leaving the empire weaker & easier to retake. This is the true reason you shouldn't help the stormcloaks. They may have just reasons but their victory is bittersweet as it only slows down the thalmor for a time until they are to break the empire fully. Edit: shit I forgot the Orcs. That leaves them as the only major force remaining in the empire if the Stormcloaks win. Which would be horrific. I do however believe that maybe if we assume after the events of Skyrim that the Dragon borne decides he is to become emperor & forge the right alliance to push back the Thalmor we may see something. I am curious to see how they will take the cliffhanger style ending of Skyrim. Assuming one of 4 things. The Dragon borne kills the emperor as part of the dark brotherhood. The Dragonborne likely sides with the stormcloaks (just due to killing the emperor & helping the legion sounding kinda at odds). Restoring order in Solstheim. Taking care of the Forsworn (either aiding their cause or wiping them out).

I’m wondering if I’ll be right. It all just depends on the health of the team. This offense is very cohesive with everyone healthy
Something you both forgot, the higher ups in the 3rd Dominion are a death cult. They want control of the 7 towers of Nirn so they can bring along the destruction of the mortal realm so they can return to godhood. This is why they want the white gold tower. This is why Delphine thought they were behind Alduin returning. Granted, the majority of the dominion doesn’t know that that’s the end goal. But the people leading the dominion do, and they don’t have to care about longevity (in their perspective) because once they achieve their goals, their is no longevity. Either they win and return everything to the primordial soup, becoming immortals again, or they don’t, and in which that case longevity doesn’t matter as well since what’s the point if they can’t achieve their goal? Remember, in high elf culture they view mortality as a curse, they view themselves as closer to the gods then all other morals, more pure, and they wish to return to that immortal godliness. In human cultures, our mortality, life, is a gift. To the extremists in the altmer culture, it’s a curse, they had their metaphorical wings removed and cast unto nirn from “heaven” so to speak when lorkan created the mortal realm and trapped all those immortal spirits within. Only the strongest became gods, the divines as we know. The rest, had to reproduce and become mortal. So, the elves view this action as a great curse upon them, as they’re always mourning the immortality and godliness that was taken from them with the creation of mundus
the aldmeri dominion, argonia, and the split hammerfell seem to be the first modern ‘countries’ as we would define them politically irl kind of cool that tamriel is going into the 1700s effectively
The correct solution to the Skyrim Civil War is the Last Dragonborn staking a claim to the Ruby Throne of the Empire after Mede II dies. Then, he gets oaths of fealty from both Elisif and Ulfric, and is backed in his play for the throne by Tullius.
Nope, that would solve NOTHING. The Dragonborn would still be bound by the White-Gold-Concordant or face a war for which the Empire isn't ready yet. Ulfric and Elisif would not obey the Dragonborn. Elisif wants justice for the murder of her husband. And Ulfric wants to be High King of an independence Skyrim. Oh, and you might just have caused another civil war for the Ruby Throne, as with Titus Mede II dead everyone will try to gain the throne. Surviving Medes, other Nobles, or Generals. And you better believe that the Dominion is trying to cause havik or bring a Dominion puppet on the throne. Also the LAST Dragonborn has little to no claim.
I'd love to play an elder scrolls game that explores specific parts of the ancient past. Imagine being there for the night of tears or playing as the legendary Talos or the being present during the events leading up to the war between the dwemer and the chimer.
26:00 i can only imagen the people of the place praying for good days to come, and there they are, the legion at their gates. first a moment of fear, later tears cuz their prayers were answered,
30:06 how could they have burned Windhelm to the ground if in Skyrim it says it was built by ysgramor? Prolly it was actually just raided and occupied, my guess is that a lot of stuff had to be rebuilt between eso and Skyrim, but the castle is untouched, wasn’t entirely burned is my point lol.
The original (almost 3 hour long script) had a far larger dunmer section. But I ended up cutting a lot because I figured a lot of it wasn’t needed for beginners, although looking back now I feel like I should have gone deeper into the dunmer houses in the third era section instead of cutting it from the second era section. Oh well, too late now
Don’t worry! Next video on most important characters will contain all of Tiber Septim’s story basically (which I had to scrap from this video bc it was already super long and that story isnt super important to understand the political workings during our playtimes) which would have added 20 extra minutes all on its own. So its coming!
I know that we are talking about games made by Bethesda, but Imperial Knowledge feels like what TES could be if done right. Attention to detail, crazy (but weirdly logical) stories and connections. This is what keeps my love TES alive despite Bethesda.
@mygetawayart Yes, but the Bethesda that created the previous material is a memory of the Bethesda today. I love the world of TES, for how non-linear and predictable it started out as. Not the shallowness of a Starfield style game.
@@joshuakirkham9593How is Starfield shallow? It's not meant to be morrowind, Starfield is it's own thing and has its own design objectives which I believed bgs nailed
@@ImperialKnowledge Oh i dont disagree its just got a lot of stuff that kind of clashes with previously established lore, but no issues besides that. Bethesda retcons a lot tho, especially with the fallout games.
No one cares what "you" consider as Canon or not... Also, even Tolkien retconned his own Lore, this is a natural process that happens when stories/universes grow and expand with time.
Oh good Tribunal, the Ebonheart Pact always makes no sense to me at all. Don't care what happened to form it. The Nords and Dunmer hate each other, the Argonians hate the Dunmer, the Dunmer think of the Argonians as nothing more than slightly sentient farm tools and I'm pretty sure that the battle between the three factions vs. the Akaviri army, was the first time that almost 99% of the Nords there saw an Argonian for the first time.
I don't know if we have enough evidence for a whole video on this, but I've always been intrigued on how fast species/races evolve in TES (only taking a few hundred-thousand years) Any ideas?
Well the timeline doesn't seem to be that long. Most of the history of nirn happend within a span of over 7 ish thousand years (not including the dawn era) our own history spans like a hundred thousand years. Or at least other humans I can't really remember tbh. But in the elder scrolls it seems to be quite quick look how the bretons went from their nedic routes to becoming bretons

I just love how Ulfric basically created his own problems
Skyrim belongs to the nords!
Literally. Like how Talos worship doesn't get banned in Whiterun until Ulfric attacks it, forcing Balgruuf to take in an Imperial garrison.
@@AsymmetricalCrimeseven then heimsker still preaches and balgruuf still worships talos so does legate rikke and most of legion
@@AsymmetricalCrimes Sounds like Thalmor cope to me.
Trazyn: Hmmm....I wonder if I should add a new exhibit to my museum for this 'Elder Scrolls Dream'....
I cannot believe it’s finally here, thank you!
Thanks the maps and well done narration, TES lore scratches my high fantasy itch
This looks amazing. Thank you!!
0:00 It's my sleepover and I get to choose the movie
Enhanced my knowledge about TES lore
So glad I found your channel, great video!!
Perfect timing…good night!
the aldmeri dominion, argonia, and the split hammerfell seem to be the first modern ‘countries’ as we would define them politically irl kind of cool that tamriel is going into the 1700s effectively
Thanks!
incredible videos as always my dude!!
woah! a 1 hour Imperial Knowledge video!
Thank you for your great service too Tamriel
Thought this day would never come !
Love these videos mate!
Also the LAST Dragonborn has little to no claim.
such good videos man
I'd love to play an elder scrolls game that explores specific parts of the ancient past.
Rocks don't burn
Great video! Gonna watch this a bunch of times.
"The Countries & Politics of Tamriel"
Damn the Dunmer section will last hours.
Oh well, too late now
It makes me sad because i hate MMO's and wish Online was just a regualr rpg that took place across the map
Elder Scrolls is really a universe that could be telling Warcraft style stories in RTS games. Imagine what could be done with all that time and lore
There are mods in EU4 and CK3. But yes an RTS would be interesting.
@@alexandrub8786 I didn't know that so thank you for pointing it out. I don't have either game but I'll definitely be looking now haha
Was hoping to get way more information on the third Era. Oh well
Don’t worry! Next video on most important characters will contain all of Tiber Septim’s story basically (which I had to scrap from this video bc it was already super long and that story isnt super important to understand the political workings during our playtimes) which would have added 20 extra minutes all on its own. So its coming!
@ImperialKnowledge yes but what of the countries and politics in the time that the first 4 games take place in?
Yes. That’s the content! 🙏
So the first Aldmeri Dominion was actually good, but then the Third just came out as pure evil. Good to have a historical perspective there
AND they have INSANE drip.
It's pretty much the same just the third one wants genocide of humans but the first one patronised them
Great video thank you for what you do
Is there any way to download map from a Second Era? I love how it looks and how it is explained by territories.
Part 3! Part 3! Part 3!
I would love thras to get up to something in es6, it would make sense given the dominion and empire could be exhausted again after a second war.
Great work
I know that we are talking about games made by Bethesda, but Imperial Knowledge feels like what TES could be if done right. Attention to detail, crazy (but weirdly logical) stories and connections.
This is what keeps my love TES alive despite Bethesda.
you do understand that all this is possible because of, not in spite of Bethesda, right?
@mygetawayart Yes, but the Bethesda that created the previous material is a memory of the Bethesda today.
I love the world of TES, for how non-linear and predictable it started out as. Not the shallowness of a Starfield style game.
@@joshuakirkham9593How is Starfield shallow?
It's not meant to be morrowind, Starfield is it's own thing and has its own design objectives which I believed bgs nailed
Good video! Thanks!
Great Video !
I just realized that the amulet of kings is just the elder scrolls holy grail
Huh. Septima Tharn? I think I need to redo the Bangkorai quest line. I've forgotten it all.
Oh... her...
Here when the time since upload is shorter than the runtime?
Cool
Great video, i dont really see eso as cannon but quality content regardless.
Im afraid Bethesda regards it as canon and TES6 will likely be based on ESO’s lore so its worth covering in a video like this at least
Based
Thank you
Oh good Tribunal, the Ebonheart Pact always makes no sense to me at all.
Thanks
GOAT
Is the part 3 coming anytime soon?
انت افضل شخص يحلل قصص العالم هذا
I don't know if we have enough evidence for a whole video on this, but I've always been intrigued on how fast species/races evolve in TES (only taking a few hundred-thousand years)
Any ideas?
Well the timeline doesn't seem to be that long. Most of the history of nirn happend within a span of over 7 ish thousand years (not including the dawn era)
our own history spans like a hundred thousand years. Or at least other humans I can't really remember tbh. But in the elder scrolls it seems to be quite quick look how the bretons went from their nedic routes to becoming bretons
Love ur content dude
f great video, well thought out, informative
1 thing tho
why the intro is a minute long XDD
I hope Bethesda goes with the empire winning the civil war in Skyrim against the Stormcloaks
