    My English is already pretty advanced but some videos still teach me a lot. Sometimes you cover the same topics as my English teacher at school (she's a native as well) byt i find your videos a lot less boring so i use them very often to repeat things that she said the day before i have a test.

    Thank You very much, Lucy! Now the question is how to distinguish some noun is a countable or uncountable

    • @eiPderF
      @eiPderF 3 роки тому +1

      You wouldn’t count grains of sugar or drops of water. That would be “much.” #10 on the quiz could be slightly tricky: “not much furniture” doesn’t count the “pieces” of furniture, but you would say “not many chairs,” you’re counting the chairs, at least in theory. “Not much silverware/flatware” you see an uncountable tray of it, or you kind of expect to. “Not many forks:” you really expect someone to own more than (3 or 5 or 12?) forks (probably their household plus some for guests.) You “count”them. Although a big restaurant would still have “so many forks,” so it does scale up. 🤷‍♀️ As an American, we use “lots” or “a lot of” more than she said, so it really is an easy cheat.

    hey Lucy,you're teaching English much better than my English teacher (of course I'm in 11th grade and it's hard to teach class of 20 Israeli crazy students) but my teacher don't explain well the grammar material and I almost don't understand a thing but your videos makes all grammar material I don't understood in the class much clearly and I understand much better my mistakes in my speaking or writing.
    you are a great teacher and I'm glad that I subscribed to your channel.
    by the way sorry if I have mistakes in my writing you can correct them if you want.

      8) don’t receive much post
      9) I don’t eat much meat but I eat a lot of fruit.
