  • Dave Courtney and Carlton Leach’s paths crossed many times throughout their years in the London criminal underworld. They have a shared history in the rave scene, old school security, and the inevitable drugs business that came with it.
Dodge has brought them together to discuss everything from building their firms, gangland rivalries, their most dangerous moments, and the toughest brawlers they knew from an era of very handy doormen.
Delving into the duo's biggest regrets and their thoughts on the state of crime as we know it today.

I watch alot of different shows on UA-cam but gotta say this is becoming my favourite one to watch 👍. Dodge knows how to get the best out of his guest. Even let's them answer and not always interrupting them compared to alot of other shows. Good quality production. Would be interesting to flip it around and get Dodge on the other side of the Mike and here more on his adventures as I bet his got a few funny stories to tell. Not sure who would be best to interview him though. Keep up the great work and keep the shows coming 👍

@@DodgeWoodallbecoming my favourite podcast channel on UA-cam. You have a great interview technique. You ask a question and then let your guest answer. Without butting in every 5 seconds. I know it's very simple, but so many people that interview other people on UA-cam or other platforms don't seem to be able to do that. You do the simple things very well and that's a big reason why this channel is so bloody good.

Dave Courtney gets alot of stick for telling porky pies about other ppls stories,i don't know any of the ppl he mentions but he seems to be well known by other movers, think ppl get jealous bc they was around also but don't have a name,i spent 87/90 in Reading got to witness and be at some of the big warehouse raves, running around meeting in certain places getting told to go somewhere else to get directions to the Rave,i went back to Ireland 90's where the rave scene was starting to get going,we tend to be 3yrs behind the UK in what's popular, was never involved directly with door work didn't like been known some love it i hated it bc it draws attention to you,i knew the security boss or head door Man, my ppl had sorted an envelope for the security ppl at 4/5 clubs walk in with 100 pure white 🕊️ do a walk around most times you be sending out for another batch,as the lads were saying back in the early days doves rolexs 1 tab had you going the whole night and a nice easy come down and sleep for 12hrs they cost 25 Irish punts a tab the same as UK, £20 is about 25 Irish, then a load came in called speckley doves they had brown spots through out the tab ppl said this is heroin and i think it was bc alot of ppl loved these especially the ppl who didn't go raving, but you'd drop 2/3 of these new type as we called them in Ireland yokes where as the original yokes one even a half was plenty, with time the yokes got bad ppl were taking heroin to sleep after raving or just necking yokes, that's why i reckon the heroin has got so bad now,i live in a small town and at least 30 ppl i knew from school are dead from overdose on heroin,it's like a war has taken all the young ppl sad 😢, anyways im as bad as Dave for the chat im Irish do,slán mo Cara ☘️🇮🇪

They've been there, done it, worn the t shirt and come out the other side relatively unscathed. I wonder if the youngsters nowadays listen to these blokes?? They could do a lot worse than listening to them and learning some of the lessons of life. Real life. Great video and one of the best on this channel.

Never met Dave or Carlton not going to critise either of them for what they were or who they are now, except for this. Dave said that the clever one's were the one's who turned up at someone's house four or five handed carrying baseball bats. To me that's not clever it's cowardice why the feck did that person bring his mates along as opposed to having a one on one that night? Or at least very best sought to have resolved the issue there and then. Everyone is hard when in a gang, the real hard people are the one's that can stand alone.
As said I don't know either of them so not here to berate them. Just my opinion is all.

In 1989 a security team Strikeforce handed the plod their arseholes on a platter at Reigate when they started taking liberties at the Fantasia Rave. In the early 90 loads of them Ned Joe Horace Notice etc went on trial at Kingston Crown Court for serving the plod up. At the time of the trial a certain celebrity gangster decided to give an interview to time out magazine about the various security/door teams workings at that time. He paid homage to Strkeforce giving them credit as the bad boys of that profession. This went down like a lead balloon with the chaps fighting to keep their liberty at the time, as time out was a widely read magazine and was a high chance some of the jurors may have read this. Needless to say the old adage of keeping things dark when it comes to bandooly buisness didn`t apply to our celebrity gangster

I love hearing stories of the start of the rave scene and how things changed.
I missed out (because i was too young)on the start of the rave scene, my late partner (a lot older than me) had similar stories to these guys and in 2000s introduced me to Mitzies, talk about best first experience. I was sold.
There was one club left that opened at 11pm until 7am no alcohol, just the best feeling in the world. The whole town still mourns the loss of that club, never any trouble or egos, the doorman were good as gold.
I have no idea to this day how I got to work on a Sunday and would have to ask collegues if I’d turned up!!! I wouldn’t change a thing.
The pressures of uni study all week then the love of the rave scene at the weekend. Part of the fun was getting the outfits and uv piercings. Unfortunately the pills got bad and ruined the scene. Sad times. Born in the wrong time!!!

No there were plenty of real gangsters very dangerous men.. that back then used to do turns .. post offices warehouse's.. importing cars .. then ran security firms went legit made millions.. have property in Spain England Scotland.. but weren't on TV talking about being a gangsters .. every pub had there fruit machines .. guys like Dave or Carlton would have got abit of work of guy's below them collecting debts Mickey mouse stuff.. they were on a different level very intelligent business minded . Were putting money into guys bringing back shipments of drugs . Had contacts in Holland and cartel .. but didn't touch the drugs didn't see the drugs but there names were the reason the guys could meet top guys .. they weren't on TV writing books about themselves.. they were on a different level and invested money to lots of legit things .. and had guys run it sell it make 8 million then make that grow.. totally different level.. publicity is bad for business they made there name were very dangerous made money.. then put it in legit things property lots of different things by the time there in there late 30s they were multimillionaires ..and guys like a Lenny McLean work for them .. they were the guys that write books about themselves sell abit of coke local gangsters so called hard men worked for them.. and you won't see them on podcasts there now living in the sunshine 60 with a 29yr old stunner with property in Dubai Marbella .. not famous for collecting money or doing the funeral for the krays funeral.. or taking coke being a ex football hooligan with a coke habit on steroids and there mates who were causing to much drama got taken away and shot and make move's about it .. there the guys that could make a call get the guys shot taken out .. and not get caught for it they had that power .. legit gangster's that were smart a level above and there drug was making money.. Dave and Carlton aren't that level that's why for the last 30 plus years there income has been talking about being a gangster on TV .. that's not too level gangsters.. especially when in the 80s if you were smart you could make millions then invest that and make it grow .. and Don't go on TV talking about how there gangsters

Growing up as a kid in the Mid 80’s we used to go round purposefully as 16/17 year olds to antagonise, terrify and fight with doormen for fun. My mentor at the time always used to trot out the same line, just before it would kick off,
“If you can’t fight be a bouncer”. The Joys of living in a 1 team City, eh.
It all stopped towards the end of the 80’s when all the Soft Drugs & Dancing came in. Good Video if not a bit one sided conversation wise.

Alot has been said about these two lovely geezers, alot of lies have been spoken about these two over the last year, but that is spoken from the mouths of liars, those who fantasize about being Dave Courtney & Carlton Leach, living the lives they have lived.I will tell you,you will never ever meet two genuine guys as these two, they tell the truths about their lives, not stand behind a camera playing the part of someone they had never ever met, instead of people bad mouthing these two, throwing accusations that are false, they should be respecting these two diamonds, bless you both, full on respect.

Good podcast. Dave is the real deal. My dad was a cab driver in Bermondsey in the 90s and Dave was around those times and he was running things. People think he talks crap but I remember him and his name before the internet because my dad would mention him. He had fingers in many pies.

@@bobbyuk5866the average Joe in Bermondsey didn’t know who he was that’s correct. However, my dad was a cab driver, in rotherhithe/Bermondsey. Sometimes people wouldn’t pay debts. In those days as a cab driver you had to rent the walkie-talkie machine and sometimes you could rent cars. In addition to that sometimes cab drivers were used as couriers. Also many times cab drivers were used to take people to night clubs, bouncers and other types of people. So in that line of work you recognised who was who very quickly. They wanted my dad to be part of their naughty world but he told them he wasn’t made for that.
My dad introduced me to many brutes as a child. There were muscle for the cab firms. I think in those days you needed muscle at the cab firm to ensure you don’t get raided, because they held a lot of cash.
For context we are talking 1990 - 1997
