Thank you .
Hi dodge mate sorry for the late reply to this great video top bloke u are mate sorry for your loss the world lost an truly honest bloke keep up the great work my friend
I only use you tube thanks
am 65 I have prostate cancer and riddled with arthritis to say I can relate to what Dave was going through would be a understatement I have really bad days when I just want to end it all ,but unlike Dave I've led a fairly normal boring life ,never met Dave but followed him on the internet and read his books always found him really funny and entertaining and it was always obvious most of what he said was tongue in cheek but boy did he live I bet he did more in one week than most of us do in a lifetime and I saw his video saying I took the cowards way out ,no what he did was incredibly brave and my heart felt condolences to all his family and friends and thank you for posting this tribute .RIP Dave
Genuinely so sorry to read about your cancer and arthritis/chronic pain Dirk. Can they do anything for the cancer pal? I hope so and they caught it fast not late. The pain I know about my right hands had 3 operations on it and has bits of metal type stuff in the knuckle as it shattered to pieces and they had to put it together best they could. Its nothing compared to your health problems it flares up in the cold so gloves when out all the time. Hope you beat it and live a happy life.
that's very kind of you to ask, prostate not too bad regular blood tests and mri scan, its the arthritis that's the real problem on methotrexate plus steroids but seems to be getting worse, when i heard Dave was in such pain it really hit home to me am not ashamed to admit i really did shed a few tears for him ,again thank you for your kind words. o@@nionegriffin

I met Dave on Michael Franzese's Uk tour last year he was a lovely fella very approachable so down to earth, I'm so glad I had the honour of meeting Dave he was a smashing fella, I like many will miss that smile & voice of his, R.I.P Mr C you will never be forgotten. For that one short time I spent with him at the event he was a gentleman, I would honestly have loved to of gotten to know him that's the kind of ura he had about him absolutely gutted he's gone, Dave certainly had presence he is at peace & no longer in pain anymore, he has given a hell of a lot of people alot of fond memories he went way way too soon, for those that never met Dave he really was a sound guy very welcoming man indeed with a big heart & it was an absolute pleasure to be in his company, thanks for uploading this Dodge ❤❤
I don't think the poor people he dished out violence to when he was collecting illegal debts would agree with you.
Big respect to Dave for the generosity he showed to the South Wales mining community in the 1984 miners strike .remembered with respect from cardiff 🏴🏴🏴
It’s not a sad story. He says he’s lived an amazing life and he not willing to muck it by living in crippling pain just to satisfy the people around him. He’s earned that right. Suicide isn’t always the cowards way out. Godspeed. I hope he finds rest because he’s earned its.
This was the best interview with Dave Courtney ever . Well done Dodge. Certainly lived his life to the full. RIP Dave.
Dave used to get a lot of stick online but reading this comment section it's great to see how people thought what I always thought he was pure entertainment....
What's so devastating is that I doubt anybody knew what was likely to happen. Blokes (and he was a proper bloke) don't talk, and don't ask for help or open up to friends. The one thing I hope we can all take from this sad story is to listen to friends, talk when we need to and be a bit more aware. RIP Dave.
Please take a look at JAAQ.org it’s powerful 💛
I try not to see it as sad, though i suppose it could be said that's easy for me to say as i didn't personally know him.
As an outsider and someone who respected the man i see it as he had an amazing life, achieved a lot for a working class Englishman coming from nothing. He went out on his own terms, and was very calm and collective as the video he made showed.
His life was a good laugh and he seemed very happy throughout. His death would have been no pain, just lights out.
It was a very noble end that he chose and had the balls to follow through.
Huge respect to him.
This blokes dont talk (and he was a proper bloke) is some mega flawed logic what a bs
@@privateaccount5400 It's observably true though, especially men of Dave's generation.
care to expand on that? Suicide is the largest cause of death in men under 50. I'd say there's an issue, wouldn;t you? Sometimes, it takes a 'high-profile' suicde such as Dave's to highlight a problem.

Sometimes the ones with the biggest smiles hide the saddest thoughts.....respect for doing this Dodge 👍.
True words Levi 🙏

I’m 56 and in pain most days but still have to go to work. I feel so sad for Dave to feel that low that he took his own life. I never had the pleasure to meet him but followed him from a far. Rest in peace Dave 😞
Garymorgan I'm the same age and I have a couple of things that causes pain and will only worsen with time so can relate 😢RIP Dave Courtney 🙏❤️💔
My opinion won't go down very well, and that's good because we are all different, and it's just my opinion, a drop in the ocean. However, I've got and manage, sometimes successfully and some not, a lot of pain in my back and hips, there's only so much pain killers can do, I was born this way, so it's been a big part of my life and of my children's life too. That said, I've had the conversation about not being able to care for myself and cope with the pain any longer and that when it hurts too much to live then I'm bowing out of this world, with a nice little cocktail of narcotics. I don't want them to hurt watching me in pain to the extent of them feeling helpless, and we have come together as a family, and we are all of the same understanding. We don't have euthanasia in this country, and I feel a lot of people would like that to be different, but until then there will be more ending of life by the individual hand. I can totally understand what Dave Courtney did with his own hand. 🙏❤

What a beautiful tribute to Dave.
What a legend he was.
I hope they make movies about this guy, he deserves it.
Rip Dave
Respect from New Zealand 🙏
Living with daily pain isn’t easy, rest in peace Dave and bless your family 💙🙏
@mrb9350 one's a choice to listen to him and having an illness isn't a choice.
All the best to you. I hope you heal in Jesus' name.
Only people who understand chronic pain are the ones that are going through it.

Loved you to bits dave ❤rest in peace and you will be sadly missed 😢
Your interview with him was the best most honest most open I’ve sen Ty so much

LEGEND
Top MAN with an amazing personality.
He spoke with heart and truth with his last words on his own good byes, and that's something I'm sure we can all respect, as upsetting as it was.
Diamond of a geeza💎
Can't believe this... Before podcasts or social media... Dave's books always had me glued with underworld stories and madness
A brilliant insight into the man and his fantastic personality DAVE COURTNEY. He had a ability to captivate his audience and the way he told his stories was truthful with a large splash of personality. A solid man who touched so many lives. Met him twice and he made a lasting impact on me. One of the funniest men on the planet.
R.I.P. MR DAVID COURTNEY
A good friend of mine took his life 12 years ago. Nobody realised what was going on. It's horrific when things like this happen. RIP Dave, whatever you once were, I always found you entertaining.
There are usually hints & signs , but people chose not to see them , because it makes them feel uncomfortable.
Then it's "Oh but we never knew" .
@@RealYourNightmare1193 Wrong, my ex military mate ( like myself ) had a great friendship and the night before he slotted himself we had a great time, there were literally no clues whatsoever! I
@@pooooornopigeon WOW, but then a military tough man would be smart & strong enough to hide it from you.
There is always the exception in everything & I was generalising.
How lucky you are that he gifted you his last night.
Lovely tribute that Dodge. Mental health is real and you never can tell who's suffering.
Soooo true John and anyone suffering should take a look at JAAQ.org which is amazing 🙏
I dated a bird a few years back who had no clue. She said suicide was the easy way out or the coward's way out. Tell you what anyone who has had depression or another deep kind of pain whether emotional or physical, has often had to be strong for too long.
Too true!
It's not a cowards way out at all, not for anyone to tell anyone else how to go out!
It's a sensitive topic that impacts many, unfortunately, now more than ever before.
Not to be judgemental, but it's extremely sad when a human decides to murder himself.
It's a sensitive topic that impacts many, unfortunately, now more than ever before.
Not to be judgemental but extremely sad when a human decides to murder themselves.
It depends on the reason for doing it, sometimes it is the cowards way out, sometimes it is just plain dumb. Dave was lucky he had an easy way to do it at a time he felt he couldn't cope anymore with his pain at an old age. Unfortunately our health professionals are not allowed to do this for people who really have had enough.
I'm 46 now, I've had chronic Kidney failure since birth, many opps, years of treatment and transplants. The next 20 years or whatever I have left could become a nightmare towards my end (I've seen it too many times), I whish I had the choice to go when I felt ready.
hi Dodge, picked Mr Courtney up a few years ago and took him home to Camelot in the early hours.... what a laugh and a real Gent. RIP Dave
Yeah a proper character with a wicked sense of humour 💥👍🏼
Thank you for this tribute ❤
I dnt care who says what about Dave, he was truly a gentleman and very likable man RIP Dave 😢
Top man Dodge. Proper fitting tribute for a true legend.
Respect.🙏🏽
Only met him once a few years ago at a boxing show but still find it very sad that he took his own life and that he lost the person he loved. Great tribute Dodge! RIP Dave. 🙏🏽
Best interview of Dave.
Feel like I've lost a friend and I never even met the guy.
A lovely tribute to Dave. Well done, Dodge 👍
Lovely tribute dodge! Dave touched so many of us from just podcasts so I can’t imagine how he touched you and the thousands of people he blessed with his presence. RIP Dave, may you be at peace and no longer in pain🕊️❤️
Very sad news about Dave taking his own life but he lived life on his own terms, I'd like to think he just wanted to exit quickly but he'll be missed by a lot of people. RIP Dave.
….i only found Dave recently when i was looking up ADHD videos and found out about his charity work with AIM…what a sad sad loss, i can see he was much loved by so many. This is such a respectful interview and such a tonic compared to some of the unsavoury characters putting out their versions of events….so thank you 🙏
I've watched a lot on Dave and had no idea about the pain he was in or ADHD I think he had too. I've got friends with ADHD from what they tell me its horrible. Meds can help but not fully cure it. Really sad.
You know from someone who only watched read and looked through a TV screen of Mr Courtney Nothing compares to this interview Absolutely Brilliant interview God Bless you Courtney your out of pain and you can watch over your loved ones This interview really touched my heart Raw truth 🙏 Fly high 🕊

Thank you for the tribute .R.I.P LEGEND 🫡
'Everything that was wrong.... i was doing it' Going to really miss this guy! Dave would have made a good Mayor!
Best thing about that bloke is he has that personality were anyone could talk to him so long as you don't cross him. Even just watching this podcast I sat here fascinated by his stories
I had a shop in a shopping centre in Hull back in the day and Dave came to sign his first ever book to customers. I will never forget him walking around in his bright, sequinned Union Jack suit. Very much the character. I have only just heard today of the very sad news. At least big Dave is at peace now and in a much happier place.. RIP DC 🙏🏻
He was certainly a larger than life character and a great story teller who will be sorely missed by many.
This life may be a little darker with his passing, but I would bet that where ever he went in the next life it’s just got a whole lot brighter !
RIP Dave Courtney.
I met Dave with a mate of mine in a club on off old street.he came straight over introduce he's self and offered us a drink.such a nice likeable happy go lucky fella.RIP
Lived and died on his on terms, not many can say that, love him or hate him you couldnt ignore him. RIP.
When your in pain, you sort it out one way or another, great interview.....
Long term follower of Dave from New Zealand. He epitomised the Go Hard Or Go Home bloke. Thinking about it, there will never ever be another Dave Courtney. RIP, sir. Respec.
He was certainly a character. I've watched a few podcasts with him as guest. But as he said, he really opened up to you a lot more than usual. I wonder if he'd been handed a bad diagnosis from his doctor and decided to go out on his own terms. In any case... A lovely gesture in the way of a tribute to the man. Cheers!
Loved Dave. I first met him in 1989. And always kept in touch . We loved to laugh . RIP lovely MAN .
A absolutely wonderful tribute to Dave dodge
He will be missed by so many
RIP Dave you brought many a smile to my face.

Me and a few mates were at a club in London 20 odd years ago, can't remember where, it was all a bit messy! Dave and a few of his mates were there having it large, bouncing around and smiling with the rest of us. RIP Dave.

Great interview as always Dodge..👍.Dave Courtney would never strike you as a man that had mental health struggles...always full of life and seemed happy. Men watching in trouble please realise there is help out there... you're not alone and there are better days ahead!
From an era where people had a grudging respect for these guys, RIP Dave.
Good that you're doing a tribute to Dave Courtney RIP Well done Dodge for doing this. To Daves Family IFeel for you Dave Courtney RIP
God Bless you Dave may you rest in peace and a very touching and moving tribute Dodge.
God bless you Dave a real character, and truly a legend
Simply a character we will not see again, lovely listening to you thanks Dave...RIP
What an absolute legend R.I.P Mr Courtney
What a tribute and I bet he was smiling when he ended it.. he stopped the ride and and got off his way
It's really good to see real men, paying tribute and sharing memories about a real man, who is, of course, the legendary Dave Courtney. Unfortunately, there will be ignorant and illiterate people who will resort to pulling his great character to shreds. That's just their own jealousy and bitterness. Of all the many things that Dave Courtney was, he'd admit himself and has done on numerous podcasts. He did an enormous amount of work for charity and had several organisations close to his heart. Numerous amounts of friends who he also helped and guided in life. He leaves a great legacy, and he won't be forgotten. Memories live on, and so will he in the hearts and minds of so many people. The mere mention of his name brings a smile to many a person's face. God bless and keep you Mr Courtney. Salute 🫡 ❤
One in a million will never be replicated safe journey MR Courtney.lovely tribute dodge thanks
…and another thing, Dodge. I don’t think I’ve seen another pod thread where people are so supportive of the host and their guests and so respectful of each other. Good work fella!
Much appreciated Nick 💛
That was a fantastic story. A life that truly deserves to be celebrated. R.I.P Dave Courtney

Absolutely gutted honestly still can’t come to terms with it miss ya Dave and all those amazing nights out we had rip son Bermondsey legend
Rest in peace Dave have loved yu since I saw the documentary bermondsey boy in the 80s you were a proper geezer one of life's great Characters.
I met Dave a few times. Beautiful character. I love him and only pray he at peace. ❤️💛💚🙏🏼💯
A truly top geezer, one of a kind,so sad to hear he's gone
Total respect ❤
I am Mr Sheffield 😂😂 You’ve got to love Dave what a Legend he is so sad about is passing sending love from Sheffield SWFC
I've criticised Dae in the pass and referred to him as a wrong un .but over the recent years I've watched and listened to some of his stories and come to realise that he's not sticking himself as a gangster. He's just talking about what he knows and getting a good living out of it and having a laugh. He helped a lot of other people earn .money without putting themselves on offer. RIP Dave
It takes alot for a man to admit what you have and then follow it up with positiveness about Dave. Good man you don't see trolls doing it who hide safely behind a screen with no info no photo not even a real name. Respect brother
Massive respect to you Michael 💪🏼
Fair play to you and your team for doing this Dodge. Very nice tribute. Think Dave would of liked it. Obviously didn’t know Dave myself but working in security I’ve known a few people who have met him and genuinely yet to come across anyone who has met him in person who has a bad word to say about him.
The middle class mainstream media loves portraying people as gangsters and bad men. Dave might of been naughty and lived a wild life but I don’t think he was the bad bloke they liked to portray him as.
He embraced it though and used it to is own advantage making a media career out of it. Fair play to the bloke. Very intelligent guy, what an entertainer and what a mad life he lived! RIP Dave Courtney. One of a kind
Nice 1 Dodge 4 the excellent tribute,
RIP Mr Dave Courtney 😢
1 of the best interviews ive seen on your show , real shame. Great to listen to him
No one really knows the inner pain others go through. RIP Dave
Yes but we knew the pain he put others through as a violent thug.
Met DC many many years ago at The Clipper in Rothethithe (I lived almost opposite the place). Didn't know who he was at the time (his world wasn't my world) but he was genuinelly one of the funniest, most charming & polite fellas I've ever met. Saw him a few times when I lived down there & every time we passed on the street he always gave a nod & a smile. Always came across as being genuine & honest.
I still can't quite believe it....I have read all his books , and remember when he used to be in front lads magazine , a girl who I was with for quite some time always used to ask me what I was laughing at when we would be led out together having a smoke!!! He always cheered me up!!! Fucking funny stories!!! But also really harrowing ones.... I have always loved the man, I once saw him at a free party years ago, but I have never had the privilege of actually meeting him properly, his passing is another light going out.....another character gone.....so sad.......rest in peace mate......loveeternalpeople
I'm sorry for your loss Dodge, it's hard losing a mate...unfortunately I know the feeling too man. Keep the faith brother and dwell on the great memories

Whatever possessed him to take his own life at 72-73. Baffled. don’t get it myself, I’m sure he’s been through a helluva lot more in the past, just too end it now.! I really do feel for his wife, children, grandchildren and all those close to him. It must be a complete shock to everyone concerned. Madness.
@@stuartjohnson7967 Perhaps research the pain he had from his cancer and other issues before you open your gob.
