In my day, milk was bottled in glass and delivered by the milkman. 😊 In America we eat garbage, I didn’t realize that until in the ‘80’s I travelled to France. Now I read the ingredients of everything I buy. In America profits are more valued than people.
This is so beneficial! We are planning go to Egypt to study Arabic and try it out. So figuring out the living cost of rent, food, transportation and so on is a little bit of a hassle, but this reaaaaally helps allot!! Keep up the good work🙌🏽
There are 4 liters in one gallon. 500g = 1.1 pounds. Maple syrup is expensive here as well. It's good to see what food costs in other places. Thanks for the video.
Hi Eddie That was actually Apple Butter Not apple sauce. I love apple butter. It tastes delicious on toast. When I was a young girl we used to have a jar of apple butter on the breakfast table along with regular margarine and jelly and raisin bread which my grandma always toasted.
I really enjoyed your videos. They are very detail with someone that would love to visit places. Thank you so very much. Keep up the work and God bless you. Stay safe.
Ladies and George, he is showing you the most expensive store, regular Egyptians DO NOT shop there, only Western Peole and wealthy Egyptians. I have visited Cairo, Egypt and it was like the wild, wild west. Everyone wanted money, including the police. And uf thry know you're American or European they will charge you double and triple. This guy needs to be careful
You do that across the world in Nigeria too if you’re American or you European, they charge you double in trouble. This is nothing new so what do you saying this is everywhere
Like 41 👍 Hello from Naples, Florida. That was so interesting. We enjoyed seeing the grocery store and seeing the prices. Nice to meet you. Thanks for sharing, have a great week. 💯
30grams is approximately 1 ounce. some measurements will say 28 grams is one ounce. Americans twnd to round up to 30. So 400 gram's is approximately 12-13 ounces
The store was very interesting. The prices were a little off for me. It will take some adjusting to get used to it. I thought you did a pretty good job relating the information. Continue posting videos explaining how things are done over there. Thanks for sharing 👍. I saw in the comments that particular store was on the high end. Next video probably try a less expensive store so we can compare the prices. Thanks again.
i remember that Regina pasta was 4 Egyptian before the inflation. Now it costs 20 egyptian pounds. MANY THINGS ONE CAN SEE IN THAT SHOP BECAME LUXURIES FOR MILLIONS DUE TO INFLATION. And no that price is for only one 500g pack of Agnesi spaghettis. And yes 144 for a 500 gr pack of Barilla spaghettis is insanely expensive due to inflation. I've been there and I was so shocked.
Those are some cheap grocery prices. We pay $3.99 for 12 eggs. $1.75- 3.50 per loaf of bread. And 2 L of lactose free milk is $6.00. We live in Canada.

The prices are actually pretty comparable to American prices for some items and in several cases actually MUCH LESS expensive! Math was off on a few of these items. For instance, the Bisquick 60 pancake mix that was 255 egp would equal about $5.23 USD not "almost 10.00." That same Bisquick with a net weight of 40 oz would be $4.82 @ walmart today and $6.29 @ target. The pasta that you mentioned would be 3 for 100 egp would end up being about $0.66 USD per unit. At Target and walmart that pasta would cost $0.99 and $0.98 for 16 oz respectively. 500 grams is about 17 oz give or take. As for the syrup: the first small Organic Maple Joe Syrup you point out is actually around $10.87 USD for 250 ml, the second would be about $7.48 USD(it's not organic), and the third would be $5.47 USD. Those same items if bought in the US would be sold at about $7.99, $6.79 and the third product is not sold per unit in the US. In contrast, in the US 8 oz of Trader Joes Maple Syrup is currently at $14.82, while the walmart brand Great Value is $5.48. Other brands are somewhere within that range as well. The pampers you showed--52 pieces for 320 egp--would be about $6.40 USD. If one were to go to walmart today you would get (pampers) 52 pieces for $28.22, or roughly $0.54 per diaper. So at roughly $.12 per diaper, the cost in Egypt is approximately 67% less for the same product in American markets. The honey you show @70 egp would actually be about $1.42. Walmart honey would be $5.43 and upwards. The cheese was about $5.40 lb USD. The teas were also much less expensive than in American Markets.

This is quite an expensive store in Egypt, you can get much cheaper prices on many items.
It's likely one of the most expensive grocery stores in Egypt. It caters to rich folks, expats, etc.
A great deal of the products sold at this store is imported food. Imported food, especially fresh foods tend to be costly anywhere you go.
I thought the prices are cheap compared to my grocery store

Incredible explanation. I remembered when I used to go grocery shopping in Cairo. Visiting in September, can’t wait.
The larger box of Bisquick is $5.99 here in Rhode Island. So that’s almost half the price here in the United States
