    Please remember to wear gloves when you pick up fruits and vegetables. It is mandatory by law. You can find them next to the nylon sackets

    In supermarkets in Italy the prices are displayed both with the price of the product and with the price per unit of measurement: e.g. Kilo or litre. This helps as the packages are not the same as each other regarding weight or capacity.

    I would love to see you do a taste test of the chips! And I'm so jealous of the prices. They are so much better than in Hungary!

      Well Hungary is not doing so great these days…but it’s insane how life starts to be cheaper in Italy 😂

      Try this typical Sicilian salad: Ingredients
      4 oranges
      2 fennels
      1 Tropea red onion
      1 handful of black olives
      juice of one orange
      extra virgin olive oil
      salt and black pepper
      a few mint leaves
      Preparation
      Peel the onion and cut it into thin slices. Wash and peel the oranges, removing the white skin and seeds, if present. Cut them into slices about ½ cm thick and place them on a serving plate. Wash and cut the fennel into thin slices and spread them over the oranges. Scatter the onions on top and mix the orange juice with oil, salt and freshly ground black pepper. Drizzle the salad with this emulsion and complete with mint leaves on top. Allow to stand for about ten minutes, then enjoy.

    Such a great video! I'm sorry I haven't been watching videos for a while but I've been moving my dad out of his house and into mine. I haven't done much on my own channel either. Now, I have more time, so hopefully I can watch more often.
    I would love to see a taste test. Hope you feel better!

    On the receipt, between the price for an item and the name of the item is a percentage. What does the percentage mean?

    • @GretaC
      @GretaC 8 днів тому +1

      VAT (value-added tax), which here in Italy is already added to the price. 4% is for basic necessities, like food, while the max is 22% for stuff like clothes and electronics.

    Barilla is 1 euro 16 cents for 1usd and 25 cents.
    So the prices and amounts need to be translated for other countries. Ounces instead of grams are used in the USA.

    • @barbart_
      @barbart_  8 місяців тому +1

      Usually when I watch American channels I just google the prices to count how much is that in euro:) same with kg. Super fast:)

      @@barbart_ I totally understand. I just looked and barilla pasta has ounces and grams on the label. 16 ounces equals one pound. 28.35 grams is one ounce.

      Not for other country . For USA. All the world use metric . 3 nation on 180 use imperial : USA , Liberia and Myanmar.
