Hey guys, love the content! I wanted to ask what programming language does the CS major at A&M use? Is it C, C++, just like you guys recommend to familiarize with the language before entering the class.
For first semester the first language thats used is Python but after that its primarily C++. I'd recommend familiarizing yourself with C++ beforehand as that'll make it much easier for the later classes. Thanks for the support, good luck!
Honestly it really depends on what kind of opportunities are available at what time cause obviously everyone wants to get in as many internships as they can while in college. There's not really a set time on when people get internships cause even freshman can get internships but if I had to say I feel like sophomore year is usually the time people start and especially junior year most people want to have an internship lined up.
I would say as of right now it is pretty difficult to get into cs at A&M because if you know anything about the entry to a major process that A&M does to place engineering students into majors the threshold for automatic admission has gone up from 3.5 to 3.75 for the class of 2025 and onward, and asking a freshman to maintain such a high GPA is not impossible but definitely requires a lot of work. That being said I've heard that computer engineering and even electrical engineering majors frequently end up working as software engineers after graduating if they want to so thats an option. However those 2 are also quite difficult majors in general and if you really want to do software engineering in the future don't let that stop you from just learning on your own and creating projects to put on your resume.

Does MBIOT in TAMU have a good scope?
Is it hard to get into cs at A&M? And if I don’t get into cs at A&M what other majors are good for future software engineers/ developers

Wish I knew this before
