    I bought mine several months ago, and got tennis elbow the same week I ordered it. Haven’t taken it out of the box until today. I’m going to the courts tomorrow and can’t wait to try it. My goal is to tweak my service motion to maximize speed. I downloaded the app which is really cool. I’ve got a second iPod to take video as well.

    Can you use it with a ball machine to check the speed of your forehand?

    Does it also measure ground strokes with a ball machine feeding ?

      I use my pocket radar in most of my other videos but in this review you can see how I measure ground ua-cam.com/video/4e9i7Akr6Bs/v-deo.html I set the radar up behind the net facing me so I can hit over it.

    I got mine few weeks ago
    Initially I almost gave up cause it wasn’t measuring anything
    However after some adjusting I got it to work and it was great
    The concern I have is that I feel robbed on speeds
    I’m a big guy and played tennis for 20 years with serve being my weapon
    Never had my serve officially measured at a tournament but using my friends phone app and talking to people who faced my serve I assumed I can max out at about 115-120mph
    I can’t break 106 mph with pocket radar !!!
    I’m aiming for the fence just to generate max velocity and still nothing over a 100 mostly
    Anyone also experiencing low speed measurements???!

      Where are you placing the radar? At the net or behind you? I find at the net works better. Also having a battery pack giving constant power helps too. Lastly, make sure to use new balls for the best speed you can get.

      I was able to do 116 when the radar was hiding behind the net. Ball flying just over it. Serving from deuce side and the serve going down the T.

    How durable if you served straight into it by accident?

    • @HammerItTennis
      @HammerItTennis  Рік тому +1

      I mean… it feels solid BUT…. There’s really no reason to serve into it if you always put it either behind you or on the other side of the net just enough so the net keeps it protected. This unit doesn’t need the ball to pass over it. It is a radar unit, similar to golf trackmans which can be behind the moving object or in front of the object.

      I’m using a mophie powerstation battery pack. I believe it is around 10,000 mAh. You can find them at best buy or phone stores.

    too expensive????? but nice video!

      The unit is not cheap, but I have used other radars and this one is waaay better. Much more accurate and less misreads or no reads. With the app and all the features I think that the unit is worth the money. If you are going to be practicing serving much it is really nice to have your speed right there in front of you.

    Is there a device like this to measure RPM?

    • @HammerItTennis
      @HammerItTennis  2 роки тому +1

      The Swing Vision app is supposed to measure that, but I want to do a review on it and see how it works.

    If you don't have the tripod, how do you fix it?

    • @HammerItTennis
      @HammerItTennis  3 роки тому +1

      You can have another person hold the unit and press the button to operate it. You could probably prop it up on net too, while in continuous mode. I would recommend getting a small tripod as this makes it the easiest to use and get the most accurate readings!

    Stupidly expensive for what it does

    • @HammerItTennis
      @HammerItTennis  3 роки тому +4

      I guess that is relative to everyone's budget for training. There are other radar options available, but this one is great that it does not require another person to hold it, and the app is a great way to track your progress.

    400 dollars come on man.

    • @HammerItTennis
      @HammerItTennis  3 роки тому +2

      Compared to some radar options is a little bit more expensive. I will say though, I've used the cheaper speed check type ones and this is way better. Both on consistency of speeds reported and the features. Although a little pricey, if you are serious about getting your serve better and tracking other speeds, like groundstroke speed, I really do recommend this set-up. I use this in most of my videos now.
