Presumably she was going through puberty at this time, so her voice was changing a lotttt. I don't think she was trying to sing with an "indie" voice, she was just going through a lot of changes at this point, and during their whole career since this. Now, she has had the practice to further develop her higher register, as well as just growing through the stages of puberty and vocal changes.

@@leahscontemporary Halle was 13 in this video. One's singing voice is constantly changing; it's not fully formed until you're 24 years old. Presumably she was going through puberty at this time, so her voice was changing a lotttt. I don't think she was trying to sing with an "indie" voice, she was just going through a lot of changes at this point, and during their whole career since this. Now, she has had the practice to further develop her higher register, as well as just growing through the stages of puberty and vocal changes.
I love how their eyes and body language is engaged making you feel apart of the song or if they are singing to you personally. Keep it up girls. Dedication and presence can be taught but does not always stick, but it is working for you girls, blessings
