Chlöe Bailey and her band were scheduled to fly in the day before this show. But with thousands of flights delayed or canceled at the start of the 4th of July holiday weekend, one member couldn't make it into town. Because the arrangements were designed for two background vocalists, it didn't make sense to have just one and the team decided the ensemble would go without.
But you would never know something was missing here. Chlöe filled the room with a stunning vocal performance, her positive spirit and light radiated throughout the entire room. The band exuded a special energy too. Right from the first note, they locked into a groove that felt really good. "Surprise," a hit from 2022, started out the set with a sexy bump and grind, R&B vibe that segued right into the body-popping "Body Do." Next up was "I Don't Mind," an afrobeat-infused party jam that really demonstrates her wide vocal range.
The party mood stayed strong with "Worried," another favorite from her 2023 debut album In Pieces. Its reflective title track speaks to Chlöe's transparency around being vulnerable. She said, "A lot of times I've been broken down and the cracks will be left, but that doesn't make me imperfect or it doesn't take away any beauty I have deep inside." That lovely disposition continued into the last song, "Cheatback," a reminder that even if we think of seeking revenge, karma matters.

I couldn't understand the hate before, but now I do. This type of talent and beauty will naturally trigger insecure and negative haters, but you know what?! She's got the talent, personality and tenacity to convert them just by living her truth. Her inner strength is dazzling; and makes her all the more beautiful as she blossoms into her purpose. The breath control and flow is OUTRAGEOUS!! She has refined her voice to instrument levels. The arrangements are fabulous. Her comments in between are both on theme sassy and surprisingly vulnerable and nervous. The band is BOSS AF! This may be my favorite tiny desk.

Yeeeeeeessss! I want that project. These arrangements and transitions are everything and her voice really shines through with this band. I love how it’s the fun and aesthetic and youthfulness of her work with these jazzy techniques.

What I love the most about Chlöe is how she feels so deeply. Some people just sing lyrics off a paper, but she is living her lyrics in the moment. She puts her vulnerability on display and her vocals always deliver. I love her authenticity and how she wears her heart on her sleeve. She's a gem ✨

Now Chloe is talented and she is has an amazing voice and is musically gifted, but even some of the lyrics sound very much performative, cringe and it’s very clear that she has not experienced half of the things she sings about and it comes off as performative rather than natural. The ironic thing is that she was supposed to have backing singers with her for this, but one of them couldn’t make the flight to get there, so they decided to do it without them.

‘Body Do’ is a completely different record, in this setting. Chlöe’s selling point is her ability to emote and perform. This is something that I don’t feel her recorded material captures. She is a phenomenal artist - waiting on that one special project that captures her entire essence, not just the trends. She’s got it all. ❤️

It's crazy you articulated what I was thinking. Anytime she performs her music in this way it's so well executed that you almost feel like you're discovering her for the first time or something. And you ain't lying, she most definitely has it all. I think my favorite part besides her performance of course was seeing how much her band were fans of her as well. Her vocal transitions are so underrated to me she be going from head to chest voice to wherever she feels so flawlessly. Chloe and Halle are going to soar when they release their 3rd album I can feel it. I feel like since they have done their individual albums they have grown more as individuals arguably then they did as a duo vocally, mentally, and, physically. When they come back they will be stronger than ever because before they had there foot in the door now its their time to shine

Chloe and Halle grew up listening to what their parents played Jill Scott, Nina Simone, all the greats. Halle loves jazz music and rock. Chloe loves well everything. Both girls play multiple instruments. And you can hear it all through their catalogue. Plus they’ve been doing this since children so even though they are young. They have honed in on the musicality of their voices. Say what you want about the music but the TALENT can never be denied.

Chloe makes music that is so layered. Its current , with a dab of contemporary jazz flow. Any artist that has that kind of smooth vibe is destined for greatness.

Chloe has the comfort level of a seasoned artist- the way she commands attention and flawlessly delivers. Her vocal ability, her BREATH CONTROL, is ridiculous!!! She's a true artist, not just a singer, and that's why she can flip a song and change an arrangement at the drop of a dime. I'm still so impressed with her. I admit that Cheatback wasn't my favorite at first, but this version- LOVE IT!!

Alot of us were holding on to her childhood like overly protective aunties like Chlo why is you growing up sooooooooo fast, you got time for that. When 'In Pieces' initially dropped I heard it and remember how much my heart fluttered and how proud I was of our internet niece for how she intentionally arranged her album and how evident her voice had matured and of her incredible control and just in complete awe. You have to step back and realize that she's now an adult woman, liberated. This entire performance gives me mature version of UA-cam Chlöe back when she and her sister arranged their covers to sound like original songs by them. To Chlöe, we're very proud of you and the work you contribute to the entertainment and music industry. You're really an out if body experience, truly 1 of a kind, super human and keep being amazing

And though they make what they do look effortless, it certainly takes years and years and years of practice. I understand fans wanting to give them their just due, but referring to their abilities as "natural talent" implies that one day they just got on a stage, and started singing and dancing as if they'd been doing it for years. That's just not the case. These young women started writing, and singing songs approximately 15 years ago. So the level of skill they currently exhibit is a result of strong work ethic...or, more plainly put, practice making perfect. I think we can all agree that they're phenomenal talents - but let's not take away from the years of time and effort they've put into their crafts by essentially saying, "God just gave them perfect voices!"

This live instrumentation absolutely suits & highlights Chloes awesome vocal talent. She has the vocal strength to not have to rely on auto tune, back tracks, and/or heavy synths & percussion. Hopefully this more stripped down production & style similar to this performance come to her studio recordings as well. This is top tier live music.

Shes definitely creating a lane! 20 years from now shes going to be the mother of some kind of musical movement. Shes definitely going to pivot the industry. Give her time! its going to happen. Y’all can say what y’all want about the music. Idc. One thing you will never be able to deny about Chloe or Halle is the the TALENT. They put in their 10,000 hours to be where they are today. And they’ve only gained popularity as time has progressed. And that is why I will forever be in their corner supporting them.
Listen to the musicality of her voice. Like she’s not afraid to play with her voice and serve different sounds. She can riff and run, staccato, “rap sing”. Like all within one song sometimes. Like no one else besides her sister have that ability in this new generation.

Probably why she don't use a band on tour because it cost money she just starting out. When you first start out you don't have a band they have tracks. She will get to the band stage later on.
