I have always been considered pretty by the people around me. I hate it. I see my younger relatives look up to me and always saying "I want to be as pretty as you!" It's a complement yes, but I don't want these younger girls or anyone else out there, to try to change their physical attributes to be considered "attractive" in the society's eye. Every time my younger relatives or nieces say that to me I immediately turn around and reply with "Your as beautiful as you ever will be. Don't change who your are sweetheart" Hearing this song all the time brings tears to my eyes. I once loved someone but they only loved the idea of being with me. He loved to say "Im dating her" Showing me off as if I was a trophy. I've always been used for my "looks" to get themselves attention. I just wish someone will actually appreciate who I am.

I have never heard this song until I stumbled upon it on a TikTok, I’m not big into Beyoncé, but she is a juggernaut force of a talented artist in our generation. This was so refreshingly emotional and relatable to me to ignore.

This song is so much more relatable now that I'm much older, I try to be someone I'm not. I try to act like and dress like girls that I know damn well I'll never look like. I compare my bodies to the girls that are in my school. Being a woman is so heartbreaking honestly because no one will truly understand how we feel the majority of the time.

I'm 11 and I have a crossed eye, crooked teeth, cupped ears, glasses, and I'm light skin. All these things make me feel like wasn't worth it. I have serious depression. But music helps me. This song was definitely on my Playlist. 🙂
