I had fun reading through all the comments as well. There was one person that made the following point: I will choose music if I am older and close to death. Because while books will comfort me in life, music will comfort me towards death. From all the comments that one stuck with me the most.
Mr. Robert, you might not know this, but to me you are someone who is so genuine and thoughtful, someone who articulates ideas in a unique manner that I havent heard in decades. I somehow really enjoy just listening to you talk, there is charm in the composition of your words and thought process. Please keep going. Looking forward for your upcoming videos.
I picked books, as a slow reader they would definitely last my lifetime. Although I like music, books for me is like you said, like having a conversation! I don't like silence but the noises in the environment would be noise enough!!
I read through the comments on that video after I posted my response. I loved reading what people picked and why. This was a fun hypothetical. Thanks for the revisit!
I loved the idea of “the music of nature”, but I still find myself leaning towards music. I love books but I can’t imagine going the rest of my life without hearing the sound of human voices. I think music might be a better remedy to the isolation.
I did not respond to the initial video so thanks for another opportunity to respone. I do not listen to much music anymore due to sensory processing issues so I am more apt to take the books. I like "the music of nature" response. Thanks for the update and review of responses! It is very interesting to think about.
I’ll bring my my music collection including: Verdi’s Otello, Wagner’s Tristan, Gonoud’s Faust and Romeo and Juliette, Schubert songs, and can have my music and books, too!
I love the idea of making up your own stories, but it wouldn't replace books for me. Reading is the best way for an introvert -- or someone stuck on an island -- to connect with other minds. Certainly, this applies to music, too, but not in a way that would best engage my mind and take away feelings of loneliness.

I would take the books as I can hear the music in my mind, sing and make up my own songs as I do now in the shower 🤣
Now that I am older and my eyes are not the best I would have to choose music and that makes me sad.
Books are a better way to pass time.
Virginia Wolfe - My best friends are books.

I'm sorry that I missed that question! It's most interesting to me. I, too would choose books. I can sing if I want the sound of music.

Books absolutely
I do think it is a harder choice than many make it out. But, yeah, also books for me.
I would choose poetry because it combines words and music.

If I wanted to hear a human voice, I'd rather hear it speaking than singing.
There’s spoken word music
