This is a completely NO-SEW Denim Skirt and it's incredible simple.
I'm showing you how to make the skirt with one single pair of jeans but if you want to make a MAXI skirt, you will need a second pair of "donor" jeans in a similar wash to create you panel.

Hi Gretchen. I’m 51 and I remember doing this in high school. I taught my girls to do this when they were in middle school to extend their wardrobes. I let them know that I wasn’t running to the mall every five minutes so they needed to embrace their creative sides. They also learned to modify t-shirts.

I’m 59 years old and I’ve been converting jeans (I used practically any family members old jeans) into skirts. Probably before you were born. Long Skirts, Mini Skirts with enough fabric usually left over to make a matching handbag. Back in My they didn’t widely offer “Embroidered Jeans foe Sale. You embroidered your own. I didn’t own my own sewing machine until I was 16 years old. It took my almost three years of odd jobs and babysitting to earn enough money. Now-a-days, I’m converting my Grandson’s jeans and other (many never ever worn) clothing into beautiful very girly outfits for his little sister. I just finished matching skirts for my (very sweet) daughter-in-law and granddaughter. I added matching embroidered Peonies & Forget-Me-Not Flowers on the Skirts. I received so many hugs & kisses for my efforts. The best form of payment.

Hey Orly! I really wanted to do something with my old pair of jeans and wanted a denim skirt at the same time. The no sew part of your video got me! We do not get fabri tac in India so i actually made one with whatever is available here. Not sure how long it'll last but must say it has turned out fab! Thank you for this video 😊
The fabric tak I use is from India :) Maybe they have it now as you commented three years ago. The name is Fevicryl and I've found it to be very good. I'm in the UK and bought it here. I'm going to give this tutorial a go. Glad yours turned out fab!
Hi Orly, I just saw you new video on how to make diffrent denim skirts, (great vid!) because denim skirts are a big trend right now. Luckily I have kept the one that I made following your vid of 4 years ago. Then have worn the skirt quite often then, then forgot all about it and now, because of your new video, have dug it out of my closet. Guess what: ... the fabric glue has held it together all these years. So glad I kept it and I wil weare it like it was new. (will stitch it though, just to make sure).

This DIY never gets old. I love them. I did this a lot with my jeans when I was a teenager and in some cases I added lace and even African print.

Thanks Orly for your instructions. I made my first demin skirt by following your instructions. I have been shopping for one for a long time, but I couldn't find the wash or cut that I like. I would choose to sew it but the fabric glue would be a great way to hold it all in place for sewing rather than dealing with all the pins. Great Idea!
I was thinking the same! I would just hand sew some reinforcement once the glue dries and it would only take a few minutes.
