I love the green dial on the gold bracelet. You are right, its needs light to show up the green otherwise it looks black, but i like that stealthiness. The Sedna gold is also warmer in tone than the Moonshine so thats a great alternative too.
That’s not correct 18ct red gold is 75% Au 25% Cu. The composition of most yellow gold alloys is 75% Au, with the balance being roughly equal amounts of Cu & Ag: the darker yellow to pink alloys having correspondingly less Ag & more Cu; the paler having a higher Ag to Cu ratio. The precise composition is varied according to the mechanical and aesthetic qualities required by the maker. Occasionally other materials are added: zinc, silicon, occasionally nickel etc. The significant additive in this case is palladium. Darker and redder gold alloys also use palladium or platinum too: Rolex Everose, & Omega Sedna. Both these additive tend to whiten the gold (white gold alloys use significantly more palladium). So the alloying constituents in an 18ct yellow alloy will containing palladium will typically contain more copper and less (if any) silver than a similar alloy not containing palladium. I like the anniversary watch too. It was probably the first gold watch that I actually loved! As for the newer two, I'd have the panda on a gold bracelet.
50th apollo all day.Tried and failed to get 1 and failed trying to get a yellow gold daytona. But I did go into an Omega shop,was made very welcome and had a good chat about watches. Ended up ordering the 18k Rory mac edition. Very happy, although 3rd choice sounds bad but what a great dilemma 😀

Love the Moonshine gold panda on rubber strap❤. This style is very versatile as you can dress up or dress down with it. It’s unique and if exquisite quality but not overwhelmingly flashy.
Like you Robert, I was able to purchase the 2019 50th anniversary model and it is my favourite by far. As you say, the devil is in the detail (plus the obvious fact that it was, by nature, a limited edition).
It’s the 2019 for me. Love that it harkens back to the 1969 and also that red bezel is unique and visually very interesting. Thanks for the tip about the rubber strap; I’ll have to order one of those for my lowly steel model!
I have the full gold panda coming in December 2022 so I’m told , put my deposit down in April so I locked it the price , also got 10% discount because i joined their website and you got the discount on your first purchase, I paid 29k ish and now they are 37k ish so super happy, I sure did get a bargain 👏👏

Panda on rubber for me. Looks great and seems comfy. Gold bracelet, too heavy. Have tried for a couple of days and couldn't get used to it. I'll stick with my 3861 Hesalite though, and yeah that's a price thing.
Nice review, thank you. I prefer the green dial, but like all three. And i do prefer on a strap vs the all gold bracelet just because i feel the all gold is too much, the strap makes it a little more understated ....as much as a gold watch can be understated 😅.
i also like the limited edition because it came with so many detailed that the latest moonshine gold version do not have, it's like a piece of ART on your wrist each time you wear it.

2019 for me. I like the new black dial one but it just looks a bit like it's trying to hard to be the daytona with the rubber strap. 2019 on the gold bracelet looks as it should - a luxury speedy!

The 2019 version is still king IMO. Just a beautiful watch. The only detail I prefer on the new Panda is the sunburst brushing on the dial, as opposed to the vertical brushing on the 2019 version. But then that one was a reissue. So I suppose that vertical brushing was on the original from the late 60s early 70s. So had to be incorporated into that 2019 reissue too 🤷♂️
Hi, that's correct. I personally prefer the vertical brushing, but indeed the 2019 edition was based on the 1969 version.

Between green dial and gold panda dial. I prefer gold panda with rubber strap. It’s comfort to wear to any time any place.

If Omega’s new marketing idea about the Moonwatch is to stop doing steel limited editions to replace those with gold watches to get dial variations, then they’re gonna lose some people. The Moonwatch is to only watch I would get in dial variations, no other Omega, or any other model from another brand, would get that privilege but I’m not doing it with gold Moonwatches. The Apollo 11 is clearly the most significant, the panda one is a good runner up.
I have a Sedna gold 3861 considering the moonshine panda rubber strap to replace the alligator that came with mine.
Very likeable RJ, very nice video with at least two nice watches: the Moonshine Gold from 2019 and the Panda, I would prefer the former. Luckily for my wallet, I already own a Speedmaster Professional 3861. It’s made of a shiny material that looks like white gold, but is lighter and less sensitive: it’s called stainless steel. 🤭

Amazing Time Pieces. Love the Johnny Walker (Green). The Presidential looks puny compared to the Speedmaster.
The Day-Date is 36mm and has less weight to it as well, the Moonwatch in gold is a hefty chunk.

The Apollo XI Moonshine is not only the best of the Moonshine models, it's probably the best limited edition Speedmaster of all time. Top notch materials in a design thats authentic to the 1969 model. And the first time the 3861 was housed in a Speedmaster, which is directly linked to the 861 in the original. Everything is perfectly inspirational and aspirational.

I love the gold dial panda version. I don't really understand the pricing, it is $4K more than a gold Daytona (but of course you can't get a Daytona). I actually prefer the slightly warmer tone of more copper in the gold amalgam. Also, it is crazy that Omega does not include 321 inside a $42K watch. The Daytona is thin, wears great on wrist, has a column wheel movement (auto if you care), not to mention it is actually waterproof, the bracelet/ clasp is really great. (Also, Daytona rubber oyster flex and clasp is more elegant than rubber strap on this Speedy). I think I prefer the Daytona in every way, except I actually prefer the dial of the Speedy. It is also interesting to think how paralyzing legacy and history can be, to think that a Speedy will never be automatic because hand winding is so much part of its identity. If the gold panda Speedy had 321, 100m WR, and 38K, now we are talking.
I simply dislike the Daytona design, so that would be the decisive factor right there 😂
It’s less than Daytona in US. It’s the Euro. Daytona is about $36-38,000. The green dial full gold model is $34,700

The bracelets of the 2022 will be slightly heaver due to the adjusting clasps.
The green dial is disappointing. It would be so much cooler with an olive dial more similar to the Aqua Terra. And maybe ceramic dial.

Omega just started shipping very limited quantity for those gold pieces. They missed a great opportunity once again when the market was extremely hot when they released them. They didn't capitalize the hype from moonswatch. Considering the current economic situations, I think Omega needs to adjust their previous plans with ordering parts and distributions imo.
Moonwatch sales went up like crazy due to the MoonSwatch. I believe the market is still hot for these, given the orders on them. Omega doesn’t experience the same issues of market prices tumbling down as some other brands do.
@@FratelloMagazine Totally agree and aware of the fact that regular speedies are selling crazy, however, I feel they didn't fulfill the market vacancy of gold daytonas, which would give them higher margins. And as the market for gold pieces is cooling down, I would just expect some ppl are now willing to pay slight premiums for gold Rolex and ignore gold speedies as alternatives once again. But this would affect steel pieces at all imo.

Having bought a rose gold omega triple date Speedmaster back in early 2000 from Torneau that listed at $6,000.00, I find it hard to stomach coughing up what Omega charges for their moon stone Speedmasters. Love th have the green one but I think I’ll pass… beautiful watches though!
So one would just pay for the gold basically. The movement is same on the stainless so I would go for the stainless

I notice this about luxury items. Usually when you pay more money the products get better, but at a certain point it becomes crappier. Like I was into fragrances and the higher end dont smell as good as the mid tier. Also with fashion, the high end clothes are so ugly, food is the same way with duck liver, and some art are terrible at the high end. I feel the same way with watches with mechanical and gold. I buy into it even though it is not functional. I will love a gold watch and I'm looking into mechanical watches for my next purchase. I have quartz and they are great too. Just an observation.
