Surely some of you are wondering how the animation works in the latest model OMEGA SPEEDMASTER Silver Snoopy Award. It's a very simple solution. The spinning ground is placed to the axis of the Chrono transmission wheel and this, in turn, is connected (by an axis) with a second wheel in the gait system. In this way, along with the second hand, the "earth" rotates. In contrast, the rocket flight animation uses the movement of the Chrono second wheel. At the moment of resetting the Chrono system, the rocket hides behind the "moon" 😉 Just a spectacular and simple idea for rocket flight animations in the Silver Snoopy Award model.
I’m in the queue for the snoopy for over 2 years now and my Omega boutique just told me I have around 1 more year to go. On the bright side, at least I wasn’t forgotten. The 3861 Speedmaster will do for now.
For me it's the 50th Anniversary and I could actually buy it. I won't because for me it's the "basic" 3861 hesalite on bracelet. It's perhaps your enthusiasm for Speedys that got me there, RJ, and my wallet blames you in the nicest possible way :) Enjoyed this video and as ever if I want more in-depth on the World of Speedy I know where to come.
Beautiful watches but ultimately every space mission tribute version is a bit gimmicky. None beats the basic model of the Professional (any reference). Thank you for the presentation RJ. Great job as always!
As always fascinating. I have the 50th anniversary and prefer it to the metal bracelet too as the nylon strap is stiff as you say. And the moonshot flightpath imprinted on the back of the strap will be preserved by not being worn. I heard the white dial Snoopy dropped in price when it was still current as dealers could not sell them. I like how the lumen Snoopy on the white dial version glows in the seconds sub dial.
The white dial never hit the displays, immediate sell-out. The first Snoopy had this issue though, but definitely not the white dial version. They became extremely sought-after and expensive before all were delivered….
@@FratelloMagazine OK. I got my info from the Omega boutique I buy from but perhaps he meant the earlier model. Like so many things had we all known the meteoric rise in pre-owned watch prices when dealers had stock, we'd have all bought Daytonas and Speedmasters in abundance when they were sensible prices and less popular models. I am wondering if Omega will launch a 50th anniversary of the last moon landing in 1972? I think there might have been something for the anniversary of the Apollo-Soyuz in 1975 but given the current geopolitics I wonder if this has the wrong optics?? Perhaps watch enthusiasts are less bothered since Russian space watches still interest many collectors! I just bought a 1995 Fortis Cosmonaut Chronograph with the Lemania 5100 movement from another collector and was not put off by current Russian aggression. The watch is simply part of space history albeit Russian.
FYI, the term ‘Failure Is Not An Option’ was coined for the movie Apollo 13 by the director Ron Howard. Gene Krantz never uttered those words during the mission.
@@FratelloMagazine Not a problem. Hope you didn’t mind the correction. By the way, love all three Snoopys, but I’ll probably have to sell my body to get one and at my age, there won’t be many takers😂❤️🙏
Last one has the best overall design and imo is good that its not limited production. Gives everyone a 'fair' chance to own it. The hype def died down around it its about 15,000$(CAD) less than it was a year ago if you go by chrono24 prices (slightly inflated). Once the flip/hype of flipping dies down its a solid watch for collectors of speedmasters.
Great video, also a fan of all apollo missions, loved the book (Failure is not an option), i hope to get my hands in one of any of the silver snoopy watches,
Grear review 👌🏼. I am looking to get one Speedmaster, as Snoopy is almost impossible to get, I am contemplating between the new professional version or the 321 “Ed white” which is around twice the price. I currently have a Daytona and been using that as my everyday watch…which way would you go for Speedmaster?
Unfortunately Omega has started to play the Rolex game as well, I have been on the “waiting list” for the Silver Snoopy Award since 2020, but was just recently told by an Omega boutique, they will no longer use the waiting list but instead look at everyone on the list, their profiles, existing purchases and change them to Express of Interest only. The sales guy suggested that I start purchase with a minimum 2~3 Omegas or off the shelf Speedmasters to start the profile, so it will give me a “better” chance of been considered an allocation.😢 then when you open up Chorno24 and see all the flippers its just sad.
Just picked up my 50th anniversary Snoopy from Bond Street store. Long time…I waited 5 years to get to the top of the list. £10,000. Worth every penny.
It’s almost impossible to get one. The wait list in Berlin is 385 people, and they’ve only received 10 this year. Another shop in Switzerland, wait list is 180 and they’ve only received 5 this year. Good luck!
You seem to be very well versed in the Snoopy models, maybe you can give your input to this: A little birdy, associated woth Omega, has hinted at me, that it’ll be in limited production until 2025. Originally the production was said to be around 2000 a year. However, with the issues that has been playing many watch brand, including Omega, the yearly production numbers, will end closer 1000 a year. All in all, 5-10k. Likely closer to 5k than 10k
The annual production was never communicated on this model. So I think the birdy sang too much! 😂 Production on the Snoopy is likely to be higher than your number, the 1000 is closer to another Speedmaster that has limited production…
really good info/ video . I am thinking of adding a speedmaster- sapphire crystal . I picked up a omega swatch moon watch on July 4th in nyc.. thanks. ~ JDS/CT
Omega is taking money in advance when you want to order Snoopy but they are not able to deliver the watch or to give you proper information If the watch will come in this century.
@@robert-janbroer8936 thank you. Is the “APOLLO 11 50TH ANNIVERSARY” which is limited edition to 6969 pieces better for future price appreciation you think?

Come on mate. Of course those aren't real. They're all sorts of scams, and you have to remember someone actually has to go after that person selling it. I find it as a joke, the price, as the ORM bracelet alone is $800.

The Snoopy you are fortunate enough to own is the best Snoopy.
I have all three!
Three of my favorite Speedys. My first choice is the 50th Anniversary, and I prefer it on its original blue strap. Great collection you have!
Thanks!

The white dial on the bracelet is my favourite.

My favorite ones mostly for the story behind and special engravings! That said, my picks are the 2015 and 2020 Editions. Thanks for sharing!

The 45th is my favorite but the 50th is quite charming as well. The original one doesn't do much for me.
Yeah, compared to the last two the first one is a bit “standard”. But definitely nice with the colors and case back.
The new on is the best. But the second snoopy looks nice too
So informative. Really appreciate you making these videos and sharing your knowledge.
