Buck is amazing. He should still be managing the Mets right now. he did an amazing job dealing with all the injuries and the underperforming team in 23. Unfortunately, they had to dismantle the team . Even so, they played much better in the second half of the season under Buck though it was too late at that point.
I LOVED Buck when he managed my O’s. He brought back a winning culture when all we knew was losing for over a decade. The O’s had the most wins in that 4 yr span. Unfortunately we never made it past the ALCS. The lone season we did make it to the ALCS we got swept by the Royals. Still, will never forget Buck and the way the guys played and loved playing for him. He’s a great manager and an even better man! Keep up the great work on the show fellas’ I LOVE the show, I watch/listen DAILY
Buck is the best. It's an absolute sin that he's not in baseball right now in some capacity. He has so much knowledge to share. Would love to see him back on your show soon!
No disrespect to Mendoza, but Buck is the only current manager that I would listen to thru post game discussion. He had every reporter respect him and not only did he bring class back he was entertaining. I listen to Mendoza for two mins and I flip to the next post! Going to miss him!
As a Met fan, it broke my heart to see Buck go! When Luis Rojas was being let go I wanted nobody but Buck to take over. He is a true baseball man, and he is well loved by his players. The Mets needed his mature, deep baseball knowledge to get them back into a competitive state. We had a great year and rough year with him, and he will definitely be missed.
I was just about to post this exact same question! We loved CD19 and when that suspension happened (25 games) right before the playoffs, I thought it really affected Chris in his mind and not just his body. Buck was a genius for getting Pearce to play hard and above and beyond. He proved his worth by being the WS MVP. for the Red Sox later in his career. God bless Buck.
Mets management has been awful. I can’t begin to understand why they let go of Buck, who the hell is this Mendoza guy, we only sign Relief Pitchers these days, we don’t resign anyone and let them go to Philly and be great for them, I thought the Wilpons sold? The Mets are hot trash now and will be for a long time
Buck is too cerebral for a manager. Nice guy....but spends too much time trying to accommodate players.... management.... and media. HONESTLY.... that doesn't work in NYC. The players see through it.... they know you're holding back emotion and the real issues just linger instead of moving on from them. One thing i always respected about people from NJ and NY is that they say whats on their mind..... even if people don't like it they respect the emotion and get over it quickly. I always thought Buck tried to be too bearicratical for a manager in NYC. The Mets had the same problem with Rojas as manager.....he lacked true emotion..... always tried to stay even keel....even after the team underperforms or plays a really bad game. Players see that and don't always respect it. Sometimes players want to hear their manager vent their frustration. It keeps things real and takes the anger and anxiety of a tough loss or a losing streak and clears the air. Unfortunately.... Mendoza seems to be quite similar in that regard. I want a Mets manager to have a little FIRE in his veins.
Was a big supporter of you, Buck. But nobody forced you to put our worst pitcher in at the biggest time. you blew a promising season by not using the greatest closer of all time and subjected Orioles fans to six years of horrible baseball based on your decision and then you kept getting hired
It was one bad mistake but let’s not blame the loss all on that. We were in the 12th due to getting the most out of his staff keeping Toronto’s offense in check. On the other side, our bats did absolutely nothing for the last like 8 innings of that game. They lived and died by the homerun and that did us in. No way was the ‘16 team winning it all, and he’s not the reason we fell apart afterward. That was on duquette who mismanaged the roster. The manager can only do what he can with the talent he’s given, which buck did solid overall.
Scherzer sucks! I don’t like that guy he gives up on his teams. He gave up on Dodgers, and gave up on Mets and was lucky that was traded to the Rangers. I have no respect for players that think that the team revolves around them and think it’s all them. His to full of himself…sorry just my opinion.
Love Buck. Wish we had him for one last ride

Could listen to Buck talk for hours. Amazing
Buck should still be Mets manager. You brought professionalism and class to my Mets. Best of luck to you Buck.
My wife - a new baseball and Mets fan at age 60 - is still angry Buck was let go.
O's fan, loved Buck as Manager. Really appreciate all he brought to the team.
Great interview! Love how everyone speaks a little freer on this show and aren't as worried about being censored on MLBN.
Hope Buck becomes a regular!
precisely!
Thanks so much for this interview of the good man that is Buck Showalter 💙🧡

Buck said it right "I've heard a lot about your show, you guys are doing a service to the game!"
Great show as always guys THANK YOU
thanks!
Man with integrity.Speaks volumes about the never Mets GM the way he dismissed Buck, classless.
Buck is a national treasure
Buck on load management was perfection
Buck was going off in this interview!
Buck is the best. It's an absolute sin that he's not in baseball right now in some capacity. He has so much knowledge to share. Would love to see him back on your show soon!
As a braves fan, I got to say Buck is a good man with integrity ! good luck Buck, hope to see you manage again !
This is a great interview. Love Buck.
Should still be managing the Mets. I’m a Met fan and although I like the Sterns hire but he should’ve stuck with experience over analytics
He’s so awesome end of story ♥️
Buck is such a great baseball mind.
Buck, absolute legend

Miss Buck
Loved our breif time with buck. LGM
I enjoyed the time brief time he spent with the Mets too. You can see it meant a lot to him too.
all-time great interview.
would love to see Buck back managing again!
Buck is the best!
Buck has forgotten more about the game than I’ll never know. Wish this was a weekly segment…until he’s hired again.
I'm still mad my Mets parted ways with him. Bad mistake.
As soon as I saw that Diaz fucked himself up in Spring training I had a bad feeling about the season. Truly a bad omen
El Mariachi had a lot to do with Baltimore winning in Bucks era as well.
In the NFL it seems the Head Coaches are getting younger and younger. Will that happen in MLB?
Wished you’d of asked him his opinion on the demise of Chris Davis
I was just about to post this exact same question!

Something is wrong with baseball when Don Mattingly and Buck Showalter don't have a World Series appearance between them.
Padres should have brought in Buck years ago when we got Machado
I thought the thumbnail said “we thought he was abandoning his teammates.” 😂😂 I was like oh wow Buck going crazy
Ya can’t find a better man in all of baseball
Mets management has been awful. Buck's got 1 more run
Trying to get Eric kratz to clarify his commente that Canadians don't understand baseball
Mets ownership cut a great Man what the hell were they thinking?
Ubaldo really buck? ....ubaldo vs baustia was never going to end well
There’s some awful static/crackling making this hard to listen to, unfortunately.

Complete Mets trash show

What in hey are talking? You have to be delusional.
