  • Round table gun review’s PWS Mod 2, Primary Weapon Systems MK116 review. It’s a simple scheme. Shooters from different backgrounds get together, shoot guns, discuss guns and rate guns. Thumbs up, thumbs down or the ever noncommittal “meh” are the only options. What starts out as four separate reviews culminates in a broad overview and full bodied review of each individual gun. WE WELCOME COMMENTS! Agree, disagree, call us names, whatever you wish… we even welcome discord if it will ultimately serve the prospective buyer of these guns and help them make informed decisions.

I would like to see you do a round table discussion on the W.W.S.D. ultra lite rifle for shooting competition!!! I believe you might be VERY SURPRISED at how well it performs!!! It is made by KE-arms and sold by "Brownell's". Look up reviews on UA-cam by "In Range" with Ian and Karl. 😉 I think I would highly enjoy all your thoughts on it! Thanks and HAPPY EASTER🐣😉👍

What sights were you using, if any?

I just acquired a brand-new MK118 MOD2 today. At first glance it appears that it's a really nice rifle. Looks great, feels great and hopefully functions great. I am , however, probably not going to keep it.
I had high hopes for this gun but it falls short because it's a "rattler", meaning the upper and lower are not a perfect match so there is enough slop between the two that the noise is clearly audible which is unacceptable for a firearm at this price point.
The fit of all of my Barretts (slightly more expensive) and my Colts (much less expensive) are much tighter and have zero play between the uppers and lowers.
I really wanted to build a collection of these rifles (MK111 MOD2, MK114 MOD2, & MK206) but will probably reconsider this move. As the saying goes, "You only get one chance to make a first impression", and unfortunately this first impression is only so-so.

Interesting. I'm torn between a PWS Piston and Barret DI (all we have available in NZ) so you're saying go with the PWS for better quality of build?

rascalMatt17 Great answer! And I do apologize for my post because I meant to write 'should I go with the *Barrett* for better quality of build' NOT '*PWS*'!!!
I'm actually in the market for a good piston AR to run with my suppressor and Barrett doesn't sell spare parts at all so if anything propietary breaks I essentially have no rifle. PWS was my second choice as parts are available but I just don't think they'll be as well made as a Barrett DI so I'm heading away from them. So the worst case scenario is that I'll get gas in the face and have to tune whatever DI I get but at least I'll be in the AR game :-)

rascalMatt17 Ha Ha using a firearm for home defense is a big no-no in New Zealand! This is for hunting ;-) And 16" is the length I'm after as I'm quite tall at 6'4''

My Mk1 Mod 2 16" is very tight. There's another post about an ill fitting PWS that was replaced by the manufacturer. Have you spoken with them?

@@JAMcDonald1 Not directly. I went with a Barrett Rec 7 DI in the end - long story but spares were a big factor. I might convert an upper to a piston with PWS gas system components so I can run it suppressed but for now I'm going to stick with an unsupressed DI and wear my Sordin MSA earpro when i go hunting.

Two questions: is Kate single? And does she like men in their 20’s? Thanks.
