  • Round table gun review’s STI International Costa VIP review. It’s a simple scheme. Shooters from different backgrounds get together, shoot guns, discuss guns and rate guns. Thumbs up, thumbs down or the ever noncommittal “meh” are the only options. What starts out as four separate reviews culminates in a broad overview and full bodied review of each individual gun. WE WELCOME COMMENTS! Agree, disagree, call us names, whatever you wish… we even welcome discord if it will ultimately serve the prospective buyer of these guns and help them make informed decisions.
Check out the companies that sponsor these reviews:
www.arnzenarms.com - Local and now national retailer of guns and gear.
www.hawkeyeordnance.com - 3 gun gear reviews, recommendations and modifications.

That is one of the best looking 2011 ever , even the Costa ludus logo is cool but I will not be afraid to use "aggressive"😆 sand paper on the grip stippling if it is too uncomfortable.
Seriously: a light touch with extrafine wet sandpaper, small thing.
The short slide with all that beautiful millings should cycle really well, even with the weak 9mm.

Pricey !! but for me the first gun I owned and learn how to shot with was 1911... and love the trigger and feel compared to others.Going to give it a look! ... hard to fine 1911 to carry ! Was always a 45 acp for self defence but will be more into the 9mm now with the better self defense loads you can get today ..and the 9mm runs now!!!

Okay, the gun is way out of my price range so I have no comment on a gun i could never purchase...
I wrote this before so i guess this makes me a cheesy fanboy, but i really dig your round table reviews. Best review format on youtube. Can i help? Do you have a patreon account?

I like the fact that 3 of you are seasoned competition shooters and your honesty on the difficulty in holding on to the shorter lighter sized 45ACP`s are a bloody handful , they are very lively in your hands even for a pro guys/gals like you , who knows how to grip a pistol still feels it jumps about too much for its intended purpose of being a DEFENSIVE HANDGUN , remember that .
LOOKING PRETTY IS ONE THING , BEING FIT FOR PURPOSE AS A DEFENSIVE HANDGUN IS ANOTHER ALTOGETHER DIFFERENT BALL GAME .
Having some guys brand name all over it , I don't know compared to a normal custom STI gun , when you go to sell it on in the future , does everybody like that brand name , maybe yes maybe no , then you are making your buyers market smaller , some guys might think CHRIS COSTA is the greatest guy on earth, AND TO BE HONEST THAT IS PROBABLY MOST PEOPLE , but others might think what a total doosh , it is tough , just like FORD or CHEVY compared to a non branded custom gun from STI .
Nice to have you guys/gals back making videos again .

Do STI, Wilson 1911s surpass Colt 1911s in appreciation ($$$$$) or level off because they've been modified?

whats it gonna take to see a reliable 2011 around 1200 bucks. Seems like the only options are 2k+ or an unreliable RIA

Great question. Here is what I can say. There are 12-1300 worth of parts in most of these guns. The short answer is there isn't going to be one soon. having said that companies that control the parts are getting closer. Here is the HAWK from STI: arnzenarms.com/product/sti/uspsa-guns/2011/limited/competition/sti-hawk-2011-9mm-5-bushing-barrel-double-stack-matte-blued-slide-dawson-fiber-front-sight-heine
All of the 2011 Patents have expired and I would expect over the next 2-3 years you will see some options. Questions is - will they suck?

I'd give $100 for the Kimber if it came with a case of .45. You will be hard pressed to find a bad STI. Period. It is almost impossible to find a bad product with the Costa logo on it.

Never have I learned less about a firearm in 9 minutes of "review" - really 9 minutes of Millenial banter and meaningless subjective emoting. And of course they said "like" and "right?" a lot, so that was nice.
