The positive is that these interviews have helped prove to parole boards that he still hungers for fame, so he continues to be denied parole.
I suppose folks want to know WHY he did it. It wasn't revenge or any substantial reason. Why kill a complete stranger who did nothing to you. People MIGHT want answers. A girl was killed and her mother wanted to speak to the killer, to ask why and how he did it. So there is the wiping the slate clean thing, folks might want to take part in.
