Backpacking from Yosemite's Southern Side | Wawona to Glacier Point Road
Вставка
- Опубліковано 19 чер 2024
- After being dropped off from a family trip, I set out on a solo backpacking adventure in Yosemite National Park. Starting in Wawona at the Chilnualna Falls trailhead, I'll hike 15+ miles and gain some significant elevation on my way to Glacier Point Road. Awesome trail but boy was it a warm day (95°+). There was plenty of water with it being the middle of June, and I took every opportunity to cool myself off!
Hope you enjoyed, thanks for watching!

Incredible views! Would love to go someday
The more you backpack, the more I get to babysit! 😊. That trip was quite a hump in the heat! Enjoyed hearing about your good encounter with the Yosemite wilderness ranger and promoting compliance with permit requirements. Looks like that trail needs a few sawyers to clear downed timber!
beautiful view in every direction, I was briefly out that way 2 months ago and it really is awesome in the original sense of the world to see with your own eyes.
Very true. From some of the upper viewpoints you can see Wawona buildings and even the highway carved into the mountainside way off in the distance. It gives you a completely different perspective on roads that I've been on many times
Come on folks! This man gives us a beautiful ride through his videos! Hit the subscribe and like button! Don’t cost you a thing!

Such a beautiful film, this looks and feels amazing! Absolutely amazing my friend!
Thank you! It was a fun trip to film
I really like the app and how it show where you walk through. Really immerses the adventure to show your path you are taking.
It's the "Relive" app for iPhone. Really neat app and I think it was a great addition to the video
fun! I've always wanted to visit Yosemite. Thank you for sharing with us and enjoy the rest of your trip!
Best time to visit Yosemite, in my opinion, is early Spring. During that time it's a bit chilly but the waterfalls are amazing and the air is crisp
pretty stuff
If only I could capture it all! I do my best
I remember that hike 😅
I left out some details from our last hike! That was a fun day
Really liked the addition of the digital map! That seemed like a rough hike on you, glad you made it out unscathed minus your back.
The heat and elevation got to me during this hike. Luckily I had a few creeks to cool off in and to refill my water. It's beautiful Yosemite though and always worth a little challenge to see the sights!
@@XLOutdoorsman you looked to have been getting frustrated with all those down trees also, don't blame you.
@@bigbreezy64 At the time of making this video it was still very early in the hiking season. So understandably the trail crews had not yet been able to clear this path from downed trees. It just seemed like every time I was able to pick up the pace I would turn the corner to see another downed tree. They really slow you down after awhile
Fantastic video. The views are awesome. Thanks for sharing. subd & 👍37
Thank you! The South side of Yosemite is a beautiful place
The relive map is a great touch to the video. Is that recorded from the Garmin?
Relive is an awesome app that is available on the iPhone. As long as you remember to start the app at the beginning of the hike, and remember to stop it at the end of the hike, it is very easy to create those short clips
@@XLOutdoorsman That's awesome, I gotta check it out! Thanks!

Why didnt filmed in 4K? Nice map presentation!
I'll blame technical difficulties (inexperience). All videos will be in 4k from now on
