    I just saw that this video was 11 years old now and felt compelled to thank you. An ex showed this video to me almost 7 years ago now, and it's been a godsend because I'm the kind of person who would do gaming or arts or crafting for 8 hours straight with no break. Before I just accepted that my hyperfocus would cause me immense recoil pain, but after I was shown this video I either no longer feel the same pain or it's at least lessened. So, yeah, thank you for creating this amazing video that I come back to nearly every day. I wouldn't be able to still do the things I love without it. :)

    You have no idea how much this absolutely helped me in just 10 mins. I had a stroke in Feb. 22' after having my baby. I needed a hand workout for my palm the most, OT wasn't understanding what I stressed about for months that I needed help to make my hand stronger with the fingers and palm.
    The instant feeling of my hand feeling almost normal again, it absolutely blew my mind. I'm so grateful you shared this video. It helped me tremendously. Thank you so much.

    Wow, the thumb adductor stretch made a massive difference for me. I use a keyboard and mobile phone for work, and have multiple hand intensive hobbies (guitar, story writing, muay thai/boxing, cooking) and this just relieved all of my weekends soreness. Thank you!!

    I do groundskeeping at my college and my fingers/wrists have been killing me lately. I found this video randomly on Google and I'm so thankful. My fingers that were in pain down in the knuckle area stopped almost immediately after finishing this routing about two times through. I've shared it to my family on social media and I'm going to check out the Full Neck Stretchig Routine next, definitely adding this finger/wrist/hand stretching to my daily stretches. Thank you so much, seriously.

    this helps so much, and already by just doing this one time does my hands and wrists feel better. so thanks very much! the one thing that i myself really struggled with and couldn't really do, which i hope will get easier with time, is the first wrist suspension ones. i can't even really get my wrists do to that one? the others are fine, but this one really difficult? like especially the hand down facing away from the body - which is frustrating because i usually am able to stretch alright. anyone having similar troubs?

    Whats the reason for only recommending very short duration holds? I thought longer 30s holds were more effective?

    • @smartstretch
      @smartstretch  4 роки тому +1

      Hey Josh, thanks for your question. Long held stretching is also good, but serves a different function. Short duration stretching is similar to strength training, using reps and sets to build a flexible strength. Also, this helps ingrain the motor control which builds athleticism. For pre-workout and even during your workout, short stretches are the way to go. When you want to do some crazy flexible stuff, definitely do PNF and long static stretching. Hope that this helps!

    So, I draw, and I wanna implement this on my resting sessions between drawing sessions.
    One thing I wanna ask is, when I would stretch in a gym, I would take the stretching pose and stay on it for like, 60 seconds or something. You instead do this "on and off", kinda bouncing thing. Is this just for showing purposes on the video? or is that how you are supposed to do this stretching excercises?

    • @smartstretch
      @smartstretch  4 роки тому

      This technique involves a 2 second stretch, repeated 10x. The idea is to build active strength/flexibility, and compliments your workout quite well...ofc, you can do long 60 second stretches at the end of your workout too, but before and during the workout, try the short duration stretch. Good luck! Let us know he it works

    • @icecold1805
      @icecold1805 4 роки тому

      @@smartstretch Oh, intersting! Mhmm... well as I said my objective isn't exactly for a "workout" like lifting weights, just drawing, so I ain't sure if I would consider it a form of "workout". Nonetheless, thank you kindly for this videos they are really good as reference for how to stretch either way.
      You saved my hands, thank you.
