I grew up in Redding. California. shasta Speedway was my Hometown track. I was born in 66, so I remember when it was a 1/2 mile dirt track that went around a big oak tree . Probably around. 1970 or so they changed it to third mile oval Paved track with no walls on the high banks. When supermodified were first Coming out, They were just a sprint car. Later they added to square rear and eventually Went on to the major offset. These were the coolest cars I had ever seen. Frank swords Was my guy.😊

I thought the speedway was closed years ago, sadly. I'd rather it be turned into a dirt track. We go to Chico for sprint cars.
There is a lot of rules. Offset etc.
Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you. And, how ironic, the first ad is for...KAMALA HARRIS. Birges: you need to step up your game or switch sides, LOL!
Hope they get a crowd like this at Madera and Irwindale!
Glad to see every car was able to be rolled back into the trailer.
Kind of not fair for that crowd to have so few of these cars there are. Should have at least 6 more cars to actually make it a race.
There were 15 cars and 13 started the race
@@stevenblakesley what race were you watching?
@@jeffhall8282 I'm one of the announcers at the race. We introduce the full line up of the feature in this race with 13 cars
Take a look at Oswego, NY supermodified races. This was booooring.
Grew up there in the 70s. Nolan Bentley Jimmy
This race was a disappointment to much breakage
