Thank you for your pertinent review, which also allows us to hear more different voices and understand our problems more clearly.
The issues mentioned in the video have been reported to the relevant departments. We apologize for the translation errors in the leveling tutorial, which have been corrected below the relevant videos.
Thank you to every 3D printing user for your suggestions. We will seriously consider them and strive to do better.🙏
You NEED to fix the errors and send another for review. I agree that more competition benefits everyone and hope that you can succeed. BUT.... based on this video I would be very hesitant to buy one of your products until I saw more video reviews saying the issues had been fixed. Best of luck to you!
This was a great video, thanks!
I ran a pretty successful 3d printing business off the back of several Nova3d Elfins a few years ago. No need for levelling, network capability at the time were some major selling points when everyone was saying buying the Elegoo or Anycubic printers.
Now, I'm almost ready to start it up again, and Nova3d was the first company I thought of. I'm very interested in the Whale3d Ultra... or the Phrozen Mighty 8k.
I'll definitely check out the other videos on this printer and hopefully come to a decision!
I’ve had a nova 3D elfin 2 for about 3 years now. Great printer for the price and it even has WiFi connectivity which is great.
Again, excellent content. I find your presentation, straight forward explanations and visual aids, wonderful. Comment for the algorithm. I of course am completely sold on the Uniformation GKTwo and as a first time user, found the learning curve with that machine to be very easy. I realize the issue is the price point. I would encourage folks who are thinking about getting started to watch FauxHammer’s review of that machine. Yes, it cost a lot more money. Way more money. But for the ergonomics, features, and work flow… honestly anything outside of that set up just doesn’t make sense to me anymore. Which is backwards since most printers work the same way and the GKTwo is the outlier. The cooler season has started and the ultimate test is coming for that machine. Which is a big reason why I purchased it. The built in “heater” helps A LOT. I should mention that I prewarm my resin and build plate to essentially ensure all prints get off to a good start. Anyway, enough rambling. Like and subscribe to this channel. Give a thumbs up and comment. There’s quality here you will be hard pressed to find anywhere else.
Another great review! This one is an interesting unit, but there are so many issues! Glad you were able to point them out.
Thank you as always!
Thanks for the review!
That's pretty close to what I want to replace my aging 1st Gen Photon mono with next year, a larger print size with a pixel size under 30 micron.
Hope other manufacturers will have ones that actually work and won't be overpriced.
yeah, this is good, but that's all, it's just good.
@@FauxHammerIt's probably fine for stuff where you just don't want layer lines that require more than a kiss with a sanding sponge.
For example, I build movie prop replicas and this thing could pump out the shell parts for a Star Trek tricorder while a better machine with a higher pixel density makes the buttons and light pipes.
Thank you for honest review.
always
@FauxHammer Did you mention 14K printers.. 😮🧐🤨 I want to know more 👀
4:53 I don't know if you're sarcastic or a lever arm really is superior to the usual patterned knob for a reason. 🤔
The resin filling mechanism looks good, but could be upgraded in a way only a small tube would lead out from the cap and the receiver end would have a spike to open the spring loaded valve.
That way the valve mechanism would be more sheltered and would open only when placed properly in the printer.
No, I prefer this, much easer to tighten and I tighten one handed
they are releasing the whale3 Super 14K Resin 3D Printer it looks good but not seen any reviews yet
Mine's not coming till tomorrow. but "14k" is absolute bullshit!
Hey dear fauxhammer can I replace the acf of my Saturn 3ult with fep and use the setting from the Saturn 3 12k ?
I changed my acf last week for nfep because i deformed my acf while cleaning it, changed my settings from the saturn 3 ultra to the normal saturn 3 and have no isue printing, i recomend changing it , i did a calibration test with the ultra settings and it got pulled of the build plate
The have some very interesting ideas like the resin refill.
But sadly yes. In the west, that kind of service and lack of quality control is only okay, if you are like 100usd cheaper than the competators, so you know, that whats to expect. 😢 Like a diy fdm printer.
But that lack of service and quality control is sadly a deal breaker for anyone in the first world
oh man, that automatic feeder, that looks soooo much better than, say, overengineered pumps that snap off when you hit it wrong
Right!?
How would you stack it against the Photon M5 or Saturn 2/8k?
Cool
Great review. If I may just make a suggestion, I would honestly consider a new bit of background music. It's just oddly jarring when you keep hearing this weird, "Bssssssht" during the music. I'm not exactly sure what it is, but that's all I can hear. I hear very low volume background music and then "Bsssssshht". I'm sensitive to sounds so maybe others don't care, but I've been hearing that annoying sound in the past view videos and decided to just state my opinion on it. :) I honestly wish i could turn off the background music so as to not hear it. Actually, I'll just mute the volume and use CC for your vids.
It's not an issue for me personally with Fauxhammer videos in particular, but I can relate to the general statement. There's a few documentary podcasts I had to drop because they used background "music" consisting of high-pitched clicks, beeps and scratches. Outright painful to me. So I support any calls for changes in background music in these video here as well.
I don't get it, you had a good ACF experience with Saturn 3 Ultra, did something change that I missed, between now and then?
Yeah I have a new video using ACF coming out next week, which is live fir members today. Once again it shows the lines.
I’m just convinced I just got lucky on the Saturn 3 Ultra
@@FauxHammerinteresting, but I guess if someone figures out the luck factor, it must be possible to get the best of both worlds. Something there must be repeatable.
Sounds like there should be a side-by-side of the whale ultra with the GK2 🙏
Yeah, that;s the one they should have sent for testing.
I’m sure I’ve just seen some holes in the build plate. What’s that all about?
just 4 small drainage holes
@@FauxHammer hi Ross, thank you for the reply. That makes sense now.🙂
Great videos and as always full of the info we really need.
So I'm a samurai now, which just makes me want to print one. Where do you get your stl files?
Welcome!!! I have just printed an awesome Samurai bust diorama from CA Sculpts.
Also, check out black forge games
Thanks
thank you! as always!
I like the resin feeder - simple and basic design. I dislike the bed leveling system - they went too basic. And I absolutely love the idea of a warmed vat to get resins up to decent/proper/curing temperatures - on the higher model - but.. that price? that UI? That Slicer? Yeah.... for everything great on this printer.. there is an absolute 'no' as well... and that is just sad.
Hopefully they can work on this.. I say ditch the custom slicer, just go with Chitubox and the rest - use the resources from it into better designs and even cost-cutting of these designs.
agreed on every single point you just made
$720.00 USD for the NOVA3D Whale3 Ultra ...at that price point might as well get Phrozen Sonic Mighty 8K
What would the Mighty 8k do better?
@@FauxHammer Customer service and support 🤷🏾♂️
they must give a lcd for 10 mikrons
I will have to disagree with you on this one and I think dissuading is exactly what you should do. We don't need more companies like this that are only worried about getting their products out the door, then hands off. What good will it do to add some sprinkles and once the customer tastes it L, they give push back it's likely they will only be a desservice to the customer and their hard earned money. If you had this much frustration, imagine the average printer Joe with whatever other issues may arise. Way too many red flags to be a contributor to innovation
I hove they could better in their next generation.. ultra looks decent btw
When obvious firmware issues won't get fixed with a simple firmware update but in future printers *is an absolute red flag.*
me too
Thanks for the review. It's clear their printer has defectives. Very useful review.
