    I guess I’m more optimistic but I don’t see owning a carnicería as a mistake as she insinuates. *People are always going to be hungry. I’ve actually seen open meat markets (carnicerías) in several countries in Latin America, South America, North Africa, and even in my own country USA on Native American reservations. There’s a butcher shop in my hometown, too, that will cut up a whole animal that you have bought or one that you can buy from them. Some places too will hang the freshly killed animals upside down to drain its sangre and will butcher it for you right there.
    Sangre: blood
    Carnicería: meat market/butcher shop
    As for the foreigners that travel overseas: just get all your shots that are advised and required for the country you are visiting. There are pills that you can take too either there or when you come back to get rid of worms from the water and/or ill-prepared food, etc. Drink bottled water or always boil your water before cooling it and drinking it.

      I wonder if it also depends on how fresh the meat is? I imagine from live animal to meat on his counter could just be a day, whereas in the US the meat needs to be processed and shipped. Still though, survivor's bias seems to cloud opinions on food safety. Just because most people seem to do fine doesn't mean their isn't a serious risk when all you need to do is take a few precautions.

    It's nice to have someone from outside of North America or growing up in Europe because a lot of people doing reaction videos have never lived in a developing country. I've lived in Belize for the past 21 years and adapted a long time ago to Caribbean realities. I also visited for extended stays, not as a tourist, before making my move. I did research about permanent residency, citizenship, and ability to work, etc. I was 32 when I first started visiting and 34 when I finally moved, again with the option to return to my home and belongings in the US. Also, I didn't move for love, unless it was love of the country. Keep up the great reviews. I always look forward to laughing with you and to you standing up for the non-US partner.

    If they are supposed to become a team, she might want to put her money where her mouth is. Nobody likes a person who tells them all the stuff they should do with their business but doesn't invest financially.

      Exactly they are a team! They're supposed to help each other not stand there & point out everything wrong he's doing offering no constructive criticism whatsoever & putting him down. It's not like he asked her for money or anything (yet) if he did I would understand her attitude and behavior but he hasn't so she had no reason to get all sarcastic and rude when instead she could have politely made her point & offered helpful solutions. Maybe she should have thought of the finances before moving her ass all the way over there but instead she argued with her friends and family about how everything will work out fine as long as they loved each other 🙄 he has 2 jobs & she isn't helping financially right now so if she really has an issue maybe she should stop being a bum & find a job 🤷 they are both adults & they are both equally responsible for finances & dept in the end, idk she seems to do a lot of finger pointing & blame passing at this point instead of offering any real help.

    • @bunnie680
      @bunnie680 Рік тому +6

      @user-fc3ig6nr1s It's not her job to fix anything. He has a plan, and he's working it with the resources that he had. He didn't ask her for her advice.
      If you offer criticism or advice to the person you are supposed to be one with... you should be prepared to help. Otherwise, it's just being judgemental.
      She is not really trying to help him. She is just realizing that whatever fantasy she had in her head is not going to be her reality, and she's lashing out. He never lied to her, but she lied to him so that she could move to the D.R. instead of him moving to the States. I don't trust that type of person's motives.

      @@Nick-eg5oz Having lived in many poor and developing countries, I can assure you that plastic wrap exists, but it is generally too expensive for a “local” to buy it. However, the price is very reasonable, if not very cheap, for a foreigner. Secondly, I completely disagree with you. They are married, so it is her responsibility to help her husband out, hopefully, without destroying his ego! It was very clear that he was proud of his achievement; it isn’t easy to start a business in a poor country - a credit history still matters! She should have taken baby steps, instead she chose to talk about profit margins and probably pulled out Excel, which I seriously doubt he knows anything about. So many of the women on this show have no idea what it is like to live in a poor developing country. She emasculated him when she didn’t have to. A little sensitivity goes a long way! If these women choose to marry a man from a poor country, they need to understand that these men, more than likely, have not been exposed to first world’s way of thinking - much less to all the “conveniences” we have at our fingertips.

Don't get me started on them ignoring food allergens. You literally have to say "he will die if you add peanuts". Food safety is important around the world and everyone suffers when it's ignored.
