This has the same tone of every other Scott Siepker segment regarding all things "Iowa" so I'm not sure why anyone would expect or demand anything different. FYI farmers, especially livestock, typically don't have a lot of extra time to educate the public on what it is we do or care about but instead allow others to form the narrative simply from what they read online or are told by activists. This is a creative way to counteract some of that.
We love Iowa farmers too - but we can't stand dirty water. We'd love to see Mr. Siepker stand up for Iowa's rivers, lakes and streams and support full funding for Iowa's Natural Resources & Outdoor Recreation Trust Fund. You can pucker up and sign here if interested - bit.ly/fund-iwill
Seriously, you don't believe we can farm without polluting OUR rivers, lakes and natural resources. And just where do you think we ship our kids off to keep them safe while we create such ecological destasters???? We live here too. I bet you think we just lift our leg like a dog and deficate on our own houses too.
So - speaking of clean water... All that city street runoff runs into where? All that "processed" sewage runs into where? All those lawn chemicals run into where? Take a water sample downstream from a farmer. Then take a water sample downstream from ANY city. Let's talk about those results.
As a farm boy born and raised I agree with everything he says, I just wish there was a better way to say it. Is this video really supposed to educate the misinformed or is it just to get people with a farm background to like and share it and pat ourselves on the back for being right? Am I wrong or is insulting people's intelligence really a good way to help them have an open mind about things they usually disagree with? I expect this kind of stuff from the NRA, not so much from those affiliated with IPTV.
Thanks Scott! Farmers are doing their best on conservation and ensuring clean water.
BullSh#t. Here in NW Iowa more manure flows than water!
Not to mention all the jobs and businesses that agriculture creates! Well done!
Way to go!!! Tell'n it like it is
