- this woodworking video shows a cnc router being used to create joints. In order to make this kind of joint it is necesary to attach one of the boards vertically on the cnc bed.

My guy spent so much dough on the CNC that he couldn't buy a hammer
😄
🤣
haha I was thinking the same
Exactly 🤣🤣🤣
You must be broke because a glowforge is only $2500
Spend thousands on a CNC but can’t afford a $3 rubber mallet 🤦♂️ excellent fit! Nice look.
Thats the point who needs a hammer when you got a CNC
Where did you buy that hammer?
Wood expands and detracts, I doubt it breaks when all four are on supporting each other. Kid toys “mix and match” games that are made with wood have these edges
@Cxrl Plays he was talking about using his hand as a hammer. It was a joke.
😊😊
😊😊😊
😊
Beautiful. For the hammer people out there. This is a perfect cut on finished wood. No hammer marks needed.
Before cutting the shapes into the end of the board (into the end grain), if you use a square and marking knife to mark a line across at the depth of the board you won't get all the tear-out that's left by the cutter. Look up some videos of people doing traditional hand joinery to see how the layout and cut the boards with the marking knives. Hope this helps
Thanks. I need to try that

@Glen_Everette_1281
Thank you! That is extremely helpful! Would have loved to have learned that in high school woodshop!
yes you can do that. but you can also climb mill the shoulder first and then conventional mill the rest of the part. this will stop you from having break out. anything on end grain should be climb milled
I really really like that joint. That looks really great man good work
Thank you!
My grandpa always said your hand is not a tool!
Ha ha, that's a good one. Thx for passing it on!
A mallet should have been used
Your hand is the best tool you will ever have
@@davefarmery8180 till it don’t work anymore 😂
Your grandpa was wrong your hand is the most important tool you have
Nice joint. Handy hammer.
Awesome! Use a mallet, your hand will thank you 😁
Lol. Everybody keeps telling me
Hands need to do works too...for a deserving owner 🤗
@@nikhassan61481
Place a block of wood over it, gently tap on the block.
😊😊
Think its time to have a discussion about the tooling for that CNC
It's a good job that CNC machine was invented about 4000 years ago you're very lucky person😊
Nice work done. I Love it
I wonder how likely the little bits are to snap where the cross grain is holding a small piece together
Very likely. This is cnc porn not Woodworking 😂
Once glue is added. Not likely.
@James Foskey I guess, after the joining it becomes less likely however, as compared to dovetail it is far more likely.
Very likely.😅
This isn't any different from a dovetail, the grain in the important direction is running lengthways and it's a super tight fit, there's no where for the wood to even flex. Just because you've never seen it before doesn't make it weak.
I remember when just having a regular dovetail jig you could use with a router was really high tech stuff vs. laying out the joint and cutting with a backsaw.
Muy buena y bonita sujeción muy buen trabajo 👍
That would be sweet on a box. The contrast would be awesome
Agreed
AWESOMELY DONE, DUDE!!!!!
I see alot of these videos on woodworking and most of them are boring and insignificant. But this is really impressive. On the other hand not very many have access to a wood cnc. And, there's a learning curve.
You work like my pops...
work and clean at the same time.
Best comment yet 🙂
Beautiful joint 😍
You're telling machine that it did a beautiful joint nice
Amazing art work...very strong.
Beautiful job, I so like CNC's
That looks like it is very weak. All of those hooks have the grain running so they each can break easily.
If they were straight cuts they wouldn't pull out if it wasn't under load so it depends on where the stress is.
So many people these days think that pressing start on the CNC makes them a carpenter
Being a carpenter has nothing to do with cnc or this post
@@scor440 lol yea… got a point there the guy saw wood, then saw red
As a journeyman carpenter this is not carpentry. This is machining. The final product looks great, but it lacks what makes hand cut joints and furniture beautiful. It lacks the human imperfections and touch. It lacks the hours and hours of work and love. I won’t knock the machine cutting but I won’t give it a carpenters grade either
@@jojiwilliams9269 "it lacks the hours and hours of work" isn't that the whole point here?
Wow. That’s impressive 👑
While I had that ability using CNC mills when I worked, I liked doing stuff like that on the FlowJet (Waterjet Machine). Chipless and fast. Not too much with the laser. It burnt the hell out of thicker wood. Now, retired, I'm back to the basic woodworking tools which take forever to setup, and the only digital tool I have is a Prusa 3D printer, but it's additive - not subtractive.
I'd really really like to use a water jet! A powerful water jet makes a CNC router look like a toy.
brilliant wood joint.. even compared to the dove joint,
Emenda louca!
Parabéns! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Perfect woodwork!
🙏
Try using a couple of clamps and a scrap piece of wood to slowly draw the pieces together so you don't snap any of those fingers off.
The ones on the board or the ones on his hammer?
@@4V4R1C3😅 right?
Don’t let the weak tell you to use that hammer!
Ha ha, the camera was rolling, i was in a hurry 😂😂😂
(It's funny how many ppl get hung up on this issue)
And all done freehand, eyeballing all the way, amazing! 😊
😂😂😂
@@mason.berlin 👍
Get a rubber mallet bro...
Lol
I have a 5K CNC but not a 10 dollar mallet. Lol
This join makes a Japanise feel proud....thus is happening when technilogy meets the traditional joinery art
good to hear! I'm glad you like it.
He has a human hand like hammer. Works better than plasthammers 😊
Magnífico trabalho
Nice joint, perfect for draw fronts
Wow.... The craftsmanship.
All hail our robot overlords.
😂😂😂
Fits like a glove
A nice wooden glove for his fist hammer
Neatly cut pattern and sturdier than a tung groove 😊
I did wonder...
Great hammer skills btw, so fast I missed it 👀
The hand control of that guy with the router 😂😂
lol
Pretty sure it says that was CNC, that would mean that machine is hands free except for programming and to press start...
@@johnrice6543 here’s me thinking it was a Chinese guy with super human accuracy and lasers for eyes 😝
This is why i like japnese.....they do such beautiful and complicated project by hand with local traditional tools....and west depends on modern technology...... 🤔🙏
THX
'MALLETT MAN' if he can't bang it it no man can!🤣👍
Awesome tool!
Como não se apaixonar por essa arte?...
Nmm
Awesome
As an older man, who used my hands like a hammer. Don’t do it! You will regret it! Assuming you live long enough.
As my shop teacher would say " Don't hurt your carrot cuffer boys".
TOTALMENTE PERFECTA ESTA MAQUINA COMPUTARIZADA """ CNC"" Y CON MADERA SECA Y TRATADA?... MAS QUE PERFECTO!!!!!
Thousands upon thousands in CNC equipment, couldn't be arsed to buy a 10 dollar rubber mallet haha
That looks like a real coco Chanel thing to do!
The machine did a great job
it always does. if something goes wrong -its always my fault lol
@@mason.berlin touché :)
I’m 1000 yrs if someone found this they would say aliens built it.
I like the hammer shown at the end. It does not need any manual to operate.
Right? Those are the best kind of tools!!! 😂
Felt like I was watching alien techno discovered by a cave man 👨
lol
Hand cut dovetails so much more beautiful!
Nope
That is just freaking beautiful
Now my Festool Domino start making more sense 😂
That's really cool the way it fits together there eh?
Using your mits as a mallet, classic 😂
very nice making of this good job.

Now that is… tight, tight, tight!!!
We think the Egyptians had a larger one to build the pyramids .😂 or something of the sorts.
😂😂😂
You are the best
Beau travail !!
That pounding will leave a mark. LMAO.
Waiting for that SNAP!
Excellent excellent work 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉excellent excellent
at this point, he realised he hadn't put the glue on.... 😉
lol
CNC ist was tolles!!!!!
Ja!
Bold to do that on pine...! Sweet perfect fit anyway 👍🏻
its actually ash :) Thanks!
trop bien l'assemblage 👍
Thx!
Que linda máquina
That’s so kewl
Love it.
Awesome. ✨
Wonderful
when your going to make a table but you have no CNC. life sux..😁
9 dollar rubber mallet. You will thank me. 😂
Did a nice job though 💪🏽👀👍🏽
