Lovely penny that. Was lucky enough to find a small hoard of Saxon pennies in 95. Eadred, Eadgar, Eadwig and Eadmund. Also 1 Viking penny of Eric Bloodaxe. Totalled 87. We were featured in Treasure Hunting magazine back in the day. Happy days.
You find some of the most interesting things! Geesh...took me two days to get here but I was painting my bathroom. Lots of fiddly corners and trim. Much brighter now. Awww...Tas is an angel. Don't talk bad about him, Dad. I would give him lots of pets and ear rubs if I were there.
He is a great and very loving little dog Cyndye just tough as nails - he had a fight with my cousins labrador over a dead pheasant a couple of weeks ago my cousin's (gloved! Thank God) hand got bitten almost right through seperateing them!!!!
Great video as per usual, Alex. The sestertius you had right with the very first name you came up with - Domitian! It's like a pub quiz when your first thought is the right answer but you manage to talk yourself out of it - I've done that soo many times. 🤣
I meant Vespasian the first time if I'm being truthful John - great ID though from you thank you - would have been lovely if it were in better condition I lobve the reverse...
well Alex...what a great outing that was on your pasture...seems like that deus is ready to take the "EQUINOX'S Crown...King of Pasture"...what a fabulous Saxon coin...and your small Roman's too...the only saxon finds i have are bloody spindle whorl's..and that's dubious...lol, well done again, take care... Great to see you Alexander. I always smile with your videos, as your land is so very good that even relatively new copper & silver coins, which would make a fabulous video for us mere mortals, fall very low down the pecking order with the amazing things you pull from the soil! Amazing stuff my friend - hope you, Tasci and family are well!

Fair play Alexander. Lovely Saxon. I could relate to how you reacted when you found it as I recently found a cut half of Edward the Martyr who only reigned for 3 years before he was murdered. If it had been a full coin it could of been a bit pricey even though I don't sell my finds. So chuffed for you dude.
I have never sold anything either Paul but i don't think I can afford this one so it will be a first. Thanks for the "chuffed for you"! and hope all welll! All the Best, Alexander
I found my first milled silver yesterday, it's a 1918 half crown and I was shocked when I saw markings on it, I thought it'd be just a disappointing piece of aluminium or other white metal but here we are, hopefully first of many!

Amazing saxon coin well done, I found a half of one that came in at a low 32 on the D2, foil numbers but sounded good so I had to have a look, you really can’t afford to leave the scratchy ones using full tones😊
I agree Dirtbros... its just a matter of how you want to spend your day isn't it... if too much of it is foil or tiny tiny lead then I will start to ignore it... I am very new to the deus 2 - used fulltone all the time with the LITE - you have to as you have no numbers to cross reference - do you think the programmes on the Deus 2 where full tones arent the default can still be used effectively with full tones enabled ? Very grateful for any tips you may have! All the Best, Alexander
@@HolzHammerSagas no worries😊 I’ve used full tones since the D2 was released and I have tried to get used to a five tone program to clear up the scratchy deep tones but I always go back to full😬 if your on good land I would persevere with the lead as I’ve been shocked at some of the finds I’ve had with terrible signals, cut quarters can sound like coke at depth, P2 with pitch audio usually clears out the doubt to dig though, good luck👍

@@HolzHammerSagas I completely agree with you on the wind issue!!. I can't remember England being as windy as it has been when I was growing up. Its got worse over the last decade!. I feel your pain lol. X excellent video as always, brilliant finds. 👍😊
Alexander, as you learn about your unique finds, so do we. It's very much appreciated, sir. That Saxon coin looked like it was minted yesterday. Was there anyway to tell where it was minted? Best to you and Tasci. Thank you.
@HolzHammerSagas Are you kidding Alexander..lol. I could sit through an hour if you put one out. I recently had back surgery to remove Shrapnel from Afghanistan in 2014, so I am a captive audience.. I have an intriguing question, if you could go back in time and were able to come back, where would you go? It would be an interesting question to put to the subscribers. I wish you, your son, and Tasci nothing but the best. If I could travel, I would be honored to meet you. I also collect military antiques. If you ever have a need to ID anything, I am at your service, sir. No charge whatsoever. Be well Alexander.
Thanks Christian and sorry to hear about your back - I won't ask but sounds scary and I'd go back to Roman times but as long as I was someone posh!@@ChristianThomas-wf5dl
Hi Alexander. That pasture produced large and small, quantity and quality and must have made braving the strong wind worthwhile. The Eadred penny is magnificent. I am sure it is such spectacular finds that make the annoying dealing with countless bottle tops and shotgun cartridges fade away. Here's hoping your recent good fortune continues through the winter. Good to get a Tasci update on his frisky personality. PS Try reversing that editing tool that made you disappear to make an aureus appear.

Back in your field of dreams, wonderful finds.Your previous video you showed a quite large rectangular buckle with a small square combined,i spoke with a friend who is compiling what will be the most comprehensive book of buckles, due out next year, and he said it is a sword hanging buckle.
Thanks Edward, yep, i think we ID'ed it at the end but i look forward to seeing your friends book - please keep me posted on it! All the Best, Alexander
Lovely video as always Alex, great finds. Saxon, wow. Hope you win the lottery. Cheers for now.
Thanks Nick - I will def buy a ticket or two this week! Hope all well!
Great video once again, looks like the D2 is a success.
Cheers Martyn... sometimes!!!! 😁
@@HolzHammerSagas I’ve purchased a coil and ws6 headphones found more than I did with my original D2, I do think there are good and bad machines about
Dya know, I was just checkin my subs and thought, I could do with a holzhammers video!. Excellent. Thats me happy for the next half hour. 😊
Ha! Thanks Janine!!! Hope you liked it! 😁
@@HolzHammerSagas I completely agree with you on the wind issue!!. I can't remember England being as windy as it has been when I was growing up. Its got worse over the last decade!. I feel your pain lol. X excellent video as always, brilliant finds. 👍😊
glad you notice it too Janine!!!! 😁@@janinepyke4643
Wow. When you find a coin that old in such condition it makes you think its fake. Thats a daymaker
It looks and feels a bit fake Don!!!!!
Alexander, as you learn about your unique finds, so do we. It's very much appreciated, sir. That Saxon coin looked like it was minted yesterday. Was there anyway to tell where it was minted? Best to you and Tasci. Thank you.
No Christian as I said the legend on the "mint" side doesn't mean anything! Hope all well!
@@HolzHammerSagas Missed that part Alexander, apologies.
Please don't Christian - you're a saint if you can sit through 30 mins of this!!!! 😂@@ChristianThomas-wf5dl
Ha! Its got to be soon hasn't it John - I'll probably hang up my detector when that happens!!! Good to hear from you and hope all well!
Well done sir!!! New sub from New England
Thanks BPF! Much appreciated and hope all well! All the Best, Alexander
Brilliant video as always Alexander and great to see you’re really finding the goods with the D2. Out of interest what is your go to program?
not telling you yet Trevor! Nit skilled enough its still driving me a bit potty! Whats yours?
Great video… as soon as I saw the coin… I thought that’s definitely Saxon, cracking find…out of interest what base programme was you using on pasture? 👍
