I just found you and OBSESSED! I’m very detailed in my work which can be tedious and mentally exhausting. I just want to be free…watching you makes me feel as though I can. Your soothing voice and easy of working is both hypnotic and exciting at the same time. Your wit, charm and narration is everything. Love, love, love watching you work. Time for me to begin oils…lately I’ve been about watercolor. Thank you so much for sharing, teaching and for being an inspiration! God bless!❤️🎨🖌

I am 71 and started with Fuzzy Head (BR) two years ago and his mentor ol' Alex. I left them, bored with formulaic painting. I never was really enjoying things like I thought I should as I was not expressing myself and discovering what lay in the canvas. I saw another artist with this style of discovery and your channel is what I have been searching for. I can do my own discovery and also learn from a fantastic artist who gets my individuality. YOUR GLAZING BLEW ME AWAY!! I would have never discovered how to make the painting come to life. Now, I have to drag out many of my old paintings and do the same!! Now, off to discover what lays inside my cavans!!

I'm new to your channel as well. I've been an artist all my life, and I'm 62 years old so I pretty much tried everything. Got stuck in mosaics for about 25 years and I'm kind of bored with it. Did some collage... I've never tried oils. You got me thinking. From St. Louis, MO, home of the arch, right in the middle of the USA.

Stuart - You are pure inspiration & probably much more than you'll ever know. I do oil painting conservation which is all (pretty much) science, established routine, combined with "color matching" and often tedious inpainting. I always figured that I could never even come close to painting like any of the Old Master painters....so why bother even getting started. But, you changed that mode of my thinking and now I can't wait to get started! Your unique painting style makes me believe that I can at least accomplish a painting that I wouldn't mind actually putting up on my wall.
Thank You! Stay Safe & Healthy.

Please tell your viewers this I know they will be happy. Stuart, I am so glad you will be able to spend more time teaching us how to paint. You are the only one I have found that really makes sense. I have a challenge for you. Have you ever wondered what it would look like to paint a view under the ocean without the fish only the water , maybe under a huge wave. I think you artist mind could come up with something!!! Praying for you always, Keep safe.

I used magenta mixed with a bit of white on some clouds I painted yesterday. I had some bluish clouds and some whitish clouds. I looked at the painting this morning and the sky looked like a child's birthday cake. Ugh. I sanded it off as best I could and applied Gesso over it. I couldn't paint over the mess I had made because it would have looked worse. I am going to watch part 1 of your painting again and try to make better clouds. I was having anxiety while painting clouds and just couldn't get the hang of it. The landscape is okay it's just the clouds that aren't. ~sigh~

My favourite bit is always the sky and particularly the big brush sweep! I think I have watched all the vids now, some several times. Will go back to the beginning again as your pleasure in painting is infectious and I still have plenty to learn.

Stuart, as soon as you put that orange in the horizon I thought "YES!" Immediate gratifying improvement, and it just got better from there! So this gave me confidence as a beginner to know that if I don't like something then I can change it, even if the canvas or board is dry...well, within reason.😏 I'm going to use your painting "Amazing Grace" as the inspiration for my first painting. I just love the colors and the mood.❤️
