  • Journey to the Anderson River in Canada's Northwest Territories on a search for ancient fish fossils. Canadian Museum of Nature paleobiologist Tetsuto Miyashita, Ph.D, and his team used rock saws to collect more than 200 specimens from the bedrock of 400-million-year-old limestone deposits. The fishes lived in a tropical ocean during the Devonian. Among the discoveries is a large fossil of a primitive member of the lungfish lineage.
