I think because a lot of you dislike Noah Lyle’s your judgment is being clouded. Kishane definitely has a lot of momentum running fast times with seemingly having more to give but it’s so silly to sleep on someone as seasoned and experienced and Lyles. The man literally ran a PR two weeks ago. Again Kishane has a lot of promise but this is the Olympics, he’s unproven and now has a lot of pressure on him. Would be wise to wait and see how he preforms. We’ve seen how many actual races from him compared to Noah who has won at the highest level time and time again. Remember when Asafa eased up and ran 9.7 and never ran that fast again. Remember when everyone said knighton to beat Noah after a few very fast races. People on this post saying Lyle’s will get 5th lol oh boy can’t wait for this weekend.

@@StGCfiLife I know. The OP said Asada did not run any faster than his 9.74s. I was telling him that Asafa did go faster.
Yohan's 9.69s was just perfection. He couldn't have got it any more perfect than that. It was flawless from start to finish. That's why I always say, going 9.6s is not easy...

@@Yes_I_c4n yeah, once. And after that 9.7 in which he eased up he only ran 9.7 2 other times, both a little slower. You’re misconstruing my point. I’m using him as an example to say if you extrapolate Kishane’s 9.7 it doesn’t mean for certain he’ll live in that space for the rest of his career. Likely he continued to put up fast times. Very high possibility he’ll even run fast than the 9.77. But its track and you never know, nothing is a given. When knighton ran 19.4 in 2022 everyone wanted to extrapolate that he’d break the record or something but it just doesn’t work that. Season to season race to race athlete’s body’s, mind and fitness are all over the place.

@@PennyG30 I just pointed put that what you typed was not true.
Hype in track typically goes through the roof as soon as someone goes fast. That's why people went crazy because of Knighton's 19.4s. In reality, people don't understand how fast a 19.19s is and how fast a 9.58s is. So, as soon as someone goes 9.7 or/and 19.4s, fans go nuts about WR. Most don't have a clue about what it takes to run similar times and how high the ceiling is.

Those are the only 2 men to ever run 60...100m sub 3.34s. KT has not shown top end and speed maintenance like that.

Thompson will not need any push and no allows would not be anywhere close. It's only push will come from his own countryman which will get a new PB and a Time similar to what you just pushed up. You'll see Jamaica will come 1:00 too and then a distance behind oblique will be Omanyalla or Noah. There's no competition between Thompson and Lyles because they're not in the same neighborhood. In fact, Seville and Lyles are not close to each other as well. This will be the most short after bronze medal that about six sprinters will fight over. Oblique runs 400s now so we don't have to worry about him running out of energy. He's Mr ever ready this year and only the very very gifted can beat him. Lyles as gifted but not quite that gifted. My prediction Thompson 09:64 for the GOLD, Seville 09:72 for the Silver and Lyles or Omanyalla 09:79 for the Bronze. Do not affiliate these two sprinters with everybody else talking about nobody runs away from it. It'll be a separation between him and oblique with oblique commandeering the silver resoundingly. There will be a separation between oblique who will take the sofa and the next closest competitor of about three or four meters.
