Youths and most are not interested in stamps now
I love stamps and numismatics . Just got a big collection of redplate blue 2 d and wrappers with Maltese crosses on
Wow very nice! Yes sir you found a good deal. They look really good!
WOW! I think that was a bargain. Lots to research. Have fun. Thanks for sharing.
I can't wait to make a start. Thanks for watching and commenting
Muito lindo
VERY nice find I would have thrown the money at him and ran lol. Did you ask if he had more before you left?
I did but sadly they were the only loose stamps he had. He had a decent collection of postcards which I rummaged through and bought one (which I'll do a video about soon) and I also bought a piece of ephemera which I really overpaid for but thought it was an interesting find.
Wow, I think that is a true bargain find, even if the stamps were all minimum value for that stamp. The QV penny reds packed out like that is beautiful! Enjoy the sorting, researching and discovering! I like the little tin as well. 🙂Thanks for the video and sharing your discovery! 🙂
great job , thanks for all your videos ,
What a treasure!
It was a great find
Yeah indeed a good buy
I was really happy with the purchase
I found one like that back in the 80's at an auction. I bought a large box lot of items that from what I could see were odds and ends of US BOB. Inside the box were revenues, postage dues from all the sets ,assorted BOB in complete sets , and then one large glassine of GB penny Reds. I think I was more happy and jumping up and down over those than all the bonanza I had purchased.
Sounds like a treasure trove of goodies that probably kept you busy for ages. 👍
how do i tell which stamp is from the same series?
Nice find again. First things first, have you got a plate 77 QV penny red? Can't wait to see the follow up, lots of nice cancellations to investigate and dates and plates. I search for 21st April cancellations, it was Elizabeth the seconds birthday, her real one, so I look for it in job lots and collections. Great video 👍.
If only I had plate 77 the champagne would be flowing - no plate 225 either. That's a great idea to collect Elizabeth II birthday cancellations. Thanks for the comments 👍👍
@@coinsstampsandcollectibles3552 you never know where they could turn up.
What a lovely find. And yes, very good find! Lovely to see them laid out like that!
Thanks, I was happy with the find
Just proves there is still a lot of them around.
Just need to find a plate 77 😂
@@coinsstampsandcollectibles3552 How many stamps were released from the one plate run?
@@tonysheerness2427 Haven't sorted through all of them yet
Wow very nice...
Thanks 🙂
And there’s more 😳
That’s what I thought! What a great discovery.
How much this one single stamp cost?
The prices are dictated by the age, condition, plate numbers, watermarks, cancellation marks and rarity to name but a few. You can pick up QV penny reds from less than £1 going up to hundreds even thousands of pounds. I don't expect any of these Penny Reds to be very valuable, but I will need to spend a bit of time examining and researching the different facets of each.
152!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!😳😳😳😳😳😳
Not a bad find
I think you got a major bargain there. Many of the stamps look to be in pretty nice condition. I have been collecting QV line engraved for nearly fifty years and the total number of penny reds I've amassed is around 400. True, I've been fairly picky, but I'd love to grab a chance find like that. Even if the margin count on the imperf examples is mostly less than four, there are still plenty of interesting cancellations to look out for. 👍
I've got many hours of fun ahead of me and I can't wait. I've got a week off work coming up soon and I'll be getting stuck into these. I'll bet your collection of Penny Reds is something special
@@coinsstampsandcollectibles3552 I've concentrated mainly on the 1841 imperf issue, all in used condition, and mostly 3 or 4-margin copies. I decided early on that I was not going to bother too much with the perforated visible plate number issue, and that the perforated 'penny stars' were way too complex.
@@terencemeikle534 I'm learning more about what and why people collect as time goes by and that is fascinating in itself
