I enjoyed looking through your stamps. I liked the circular postmark on the green Japanese stamp and there's a very nice Shanghai postmark on the blue Chinese stamp. The stamp with Florence Nightingale was celebrating an anniversary of the Red Cross. And the Greek stamp shows the sport of bull leaping depicted in a wall painting from a building from the Minoan civilisation (a Bronze Age society from Crete). I don't know if bull leaping is still a sport or if it was just a phase. :)

Perfect, I really appreciate this comment. I don't collect world stamps as such, although I do have a stock book which does contain a random assortment of stamps from around the world - made up purely for artistic purposes. I do however collect GB stamps from Queen Victoria to George VI and that is where my philatelic passion revolves. So when I get informative responses like yours about these world stamps it makes me appreciate the Greek stamp even more. Thanks for the information.

You're welcome. I'm glad my weird interest in prehistoric archaeology can be in some way helpful! Greek stamps seem to feature a lot of archaeological and historical themes, such as architecture, statues or paintings from walls, Greek vases etc. I enjoy collecting those. The Red Cross stamp featured two British nurses - Florence Nightingale who served as a nurse in the Crimean war, and Edith Cavell who served as nurse in WWI. Edith Cavell was actually executed by firing squad by the Germans for helping some allied soldiers to escape. I love that there are so many stories held within each stamp. There were a lot of stamps in your new packet that piqued my interest so I may watch it again and will let you know if I recognise any others. Thanks for your videos, I always enjoy them. :)@@coinsstampsandcollectibles3552

An interesting mix of stamps from that packet. Thanks for showing. Glad you got a few that you may add to your collections. I cannot add any information that has not already been given by the other commenters. May I ask, are you a South African - your ability to recognize and pronounce the Afrikaans correctly. I am a South African living in New Zealand. 🙂

Hiya, I'm English but lived in South Africa for 8 years when my parents moved over there. I did my schooling over there up to Standard 8 (that's when I learned Afrikaans - although I've forgotten most of it now) and then we moved back to the UK and I finished my schooling over here. I still have lots of friends from over there that I try to keep intouch with. I've watched your videos and have enjoyed your stamp journey 😊Keep em coming

@@coinsstampsandcollectibles3552 Firstly, thanks so, so much for watching my videos! I feel like everyone that has ever lived in South Africa is family. 🙂 It sounds as if your time there was not bad - I am glad! Enjoy the rest of your week!

Hi. I also enjoyed looking at these stamps. The first one with CCCP on it is from the old USSR. CCCP is Russian for USSR. Sun Yat Sen was the founder of the Republic of China, not Japan! All the stamps you showed with Chinese writing on them are from The Republic of China and certainly not Japan!

Simmer, I'm not a collector of world stamps, I collect mainly GB stamps - so when I get a packet of mixed stamps like that my knowledge about them is sketchy.
