North Texas Shockwave Paintball spent the weekend competing at AXBL Dallas hosted by Cousins Paintball Park. The team consists of young guns and divisional players, this is their story.

The problem with paintball is the huge price tag to get into the sport and stay in it. That is the main reason why the sport is not growing as fast as many people want it too, not because the sport is to difficult to learn or that veteran players are cocky or unaccommodating. Just plain and simple, if Paintball companies really want the sport to grow they need to stop thinking about immediate short term earnings and think about long term repeat customers.

im a youngster that loves paintball. i have only been twice and i started when i was 12 and now im just looking for a club/ league to play for and just practice and get better at the sport. my first two game modes i played was an iron man (i did alot of snap shooting) and just regular. i did not get shot for either one of them and i got 1 person out on each on. so i just want to improve so i do better during competitions. PS im 13 now
but i live in NC so thats where im trying to find that club or league

6 years ago, I went paintballing for the first time with my friends. None of us had every played. The night before I went I watched this video and it motivated me. Ever since that day, I’ve been playing. I now own all my own equipment.(Etha2, hk army KLR, rotor, ninja SL2, etc) I’ve been playing this sport for 6 years now and I’m so happy that I was able to find passion in the sport!
Bro me and my friends are going to play paintball tomorrow and none of us played it lmao and I’m watching this the night before.

Marvin Wagner Oh yeah, because teams like Edmonton Impact and San Diego Dynasty lack teamwork and strategy. A lot of teams have those fundamentals, Poison Ivy happens to be among that group. It honestly does not affect your play style if you are male or female and to say one group is better than the other is immature and silly.

I really don't have a problem with parents buying their kid "expensive" items if they want it go and get it it's what you want but you know when to stop and their spoiling them their helping their kids enjoy a sport
Same concept as hockey, parent's pay for the equipment and travel lots for tournaments

Bike Life Motovlogs what makes a good player is his/her tactics and using their environment, i can take down people with way better guns than me as long as it’s in not open. If it’s open, u end up getting caught in a bunker or get shot before u can get into position.

I’m 16 and i just started playing earlier this year. Uncle and dad used to play a while back and I was always interested. My uncle handed me down his dye proto pmr 07-08 and I can just say every time I step into the field I forget everything around me and only focus about the lane I’m shooting, the bunker I’m going to, and the call outs I gotta give. I’m in love with the sport, every time I leave the field I just wanna go back and play one more game. The adrenaline rush along with the sport is a drug and with it comes heavy costs so if you’re a kid looking to get into the sport please help around the house, focus on school, and treat your parents with all the love they deserve. I already started working so I pay for my own paint now but I was lucky enough to have parents that understood the work I put into school and the time I take to focus on my future so they were able to help e pay off those first mesmerizing 2 days at the field and the repairs I needed to make. The sport comes with love so you gotta give to get.
Maybe its just me, I find it easier to introduce younger players to woodsball than it is to speedball. I also prefer woods > speed. But any paintball is better than no paintball.

paintball isn't growing very fast because for the past few years it's been nothing but an elitist sport. everyone wants to try and look good an buy the most expensive stuff and act like they're better than everyone else n try to intimidate new players. major companies should embrace woodsball a lot more. most people arrange parties to go play paintball thinking they'll be out in the woods. they show up an the 14 year olds with dm13 challenge them 3v10 an run them over n it makes people not want to play anymore. not very many people are going to jump into paintball with fast guns on a speedball layout. I just got back into it after a very long break and I noticed these kids are a lot angrier about losing than they use to be and are far more inclined to wipe during games. lot of them take the fun out of playing.
***** it's actually not growing fast. people quit just as fast as people join. the fan base might be growing, but not the sport itself. it's too expensive of a sport. the fact that money can pay for performance immediately causes it to be an elitist sport. I can't even count how many people I've met that can't play the game for shit but act like they can because they can afford all the best gear.
The sport speedball is small but i don't know anyone of my friends that hasn't went to a pb place and ended up loving pb just not on a sport "commitment" level
NeonHype even if you're not into the sport it's always fun to get out and push your adrenaline and competitiveness against your friends, but the point is this newer generation takes pleasure in ruining the fun of new players. personally I don't play against new players unless I use a tipmann, and if it's a birthday party I let the birthday boy/girl use my backup gun. it's just the elitists that think because they spend the money they're good players yet they insist on testing their skill against someone who's never played before.

I love it... especially how the intense firefights keep playing back... over and over in my mind... being crouched down behind a bunker position, and 3-4 guys are unloading on you, with all the sounds of passing and exploding paintballs...intense adrenaline rush!!!!!
I love seeing speedballers growing up like this because this is why I'm at the level I'm at. It is funny to watch cause its a little funny and uncoordinated haha. Good on them!
A lot of people complain about these kids having nice stuff bought by their parents, but how the fuck else are they gonna get this stuff? Of course their parents bought it for them? How is a 13 year old gonna go out and afford that stuff? They can't. Its not really a bad thing for their parents to buy them that stuff. It is something that they enjoy, so why not get them stuff for it? Thats like saying that, sure, you can live off of only hot dogs, so never buy any better food.

Schools arent that strict, i can talk about airsoft or look at airsoftgi if i so choose, and nobody cares. Schools arent dumb, they understand that a lot of kids have a love for guns, so unless they threaten to shoot up the school, they dont care at all.

TheChoroMC WC I wouldn't say that. I've been playing airsoft for 4 years or so, and put $900 in my gun alone, but there's really no way you can say that either sport is better. I'm not gonna lie, paintball dose seem a bit more fun. My sell my airsoft stuff and get into paintball.
Their is no fucking way you went through 8000 paintballs a day. I play for 3-6 hours when I play. I play pump and use about 150-250

I once won a game vs like, 10 adult experinced players with 9 little kids.
I'm a really aggressive player, and the kids just watched me for like, 4 games go in and just mess people up, and when they were all put on my team it was like, they ***knew*** they would win. No fear. Not one step back. Move forward and push them back. Hold the line!
We were an unstoppable wave of insanity, they were willingly running through enemy fire to gain the ground, and they were using cover fire and everything. Awe man it was perfect.

Markers are usually capped at 10 balls per second and velocity is never to exceed 300 fps. Most modern electronic guns can easily meet those thresholds.

My son has been paintballing since he was 9. He's 11 now and I am no longer a challenge for him. But where we live there's no paintball so we've been doing airsoft instead. People love watching him play, he's taken the role of a sniper, full ghillie suit and all, I feel like he was born for this sport. 🤟

Is the Spyder mr100 Mega kit a good starter kit for a kid? (I'm 11, about to turn 12) I really wanna do paintball :P. Also is it neccesary to get body armor? (Tippmann Body Protector). I am a bit sensitive, just saying. :P
I would HIGHLY Suggest to get the Tippmann cronus.....But if u want mag fed go with the MR1000 Btw u don't NEED body armor cause well I'm a kid and can handle a nut shot bounce......BTW The cronus (all versions are under 200$ Canadian..... )Is Durable As HELL. Again I would Highly Strees The cronus for a gun.

Awh man, I remember the good old days of paintball in the 90s my trusty m98 and co2 for everyone. Starts out cold in the morning with a fresh fill bring it to the chrony and by the end of the day we're all shooting over 300fps

lol its funny the American team IMPACT played at Europe's millennium event and at first was 20 and 0 undefeated which they were the first team to play in Europe's event and be un defeated , and then they one the entire event haha not to mention all the other American teams that kicked ass at this event lol. That's why it started here in America and yall can even create your own event and copy/dick ride America and make your own event and it still doesn't matter cause we own and run the sport ahahaha ! facts just don't fucking lie. Why don't yall go try to rap or something too cause we love laughing at use for doing that to hahha

I play at a local field by them and when I was getting started up the head coaches son was a jerk to me and told me I could never make it in paintball. One of their team members who I still go to marcus high school with called me a ugly fuck pardon my language but you should teach them life lessons and how not to be little spoiled pricks the kid that called me that is at 1:55 and the kid that said I would never make it in paintball is at 4:46 ( plus I'm not ugly at all haha)
All I got to say is I am practicing and fixing to play d 3 now for the AP wolfs at my home field DFWAP and it makes me feel great because I proved him wrong. my teammates are like a brothers to me and other players. so I can say they saved me from quitting this wonderful sport that I love and will never quit, that some members of shockwave made me want to. I'm not saying that this isn't a bad idea and all the kids are bad but just teach them to be nice and respect others.

I know this videos old but this is cool. I remember when I was 13 I was winning tournaments against dudes in their 20’s and 30’s.
When I see kids playing other kinds of sports in this case paintball I want to try it out for myself. I'm a kid like them and want to try it myself.

I'm a heavy adrenaline junky and I play the sport a lot. I'm only 15 but if my kid gets into paintball, sure I'll get him good stuff because it's better then video games or having him sit around all day and be not active. I'm currently working in semi pro and some of these younger players I've spectated I respect.
Played my first ever paintball game at Skirmish USA had the time of my life recorded it all on my GoPro so I plan on uploading them on UA-cam
