Thank you for capturing most of it, I couldn't walk all of it! I brought 2 buses 1966 creamy Highroof and 1962 Turkis (Stafford Egg Bus Company) logo panel Bus, I was happy you included both of them, hope you don't mind me sharing your video on my VW Bus pilots facebook group. Gabriel
hi mike from ireland great video covid 19 has really put a damper on our shows this year its great to see you guys still turning up to events like this i must pay tribute to you all for your efforts keeping these iconic buses on the road they are giving you so much enjoyment
Brings me back to my bus days. I remember the club " Box on wheels" as to use to be one of the origonal members back in the 90s. I use to have a 57 pgsg standard deluxe. It disappeared and I was never able to find it again. I still have my dealer papers and pink and other memos. Wish I can find it again but not can't even afford to.
Nice meeting you At Octo Mike! Thanks again for all the info you provide us! I will definitely be hitting up slow ride in Hesperia for my metal work 😉 its funny because as you were talking to me i kept thinking i was watching a video 🤣
Last comment. 32:37 Haha, my passenger door icepick needs a new spring too! Thanks for staying to the bitter end. Great to see them all and thanks for not showing the swap, I'd just be kicking myself for not going and grabbing some "things". At least I saved some $$$ :-)
Great video Mike. So nice to do the walk around with you, especially those of us who would never have chance to be there...some stunning examples. My favourite was the Kombi, grey body and black detail with the sun roof. Very smart vehicle.
I have a 61 double cab with sunroof and walk through seats I just finished it today except for the 2017cc cb performance coming in march. big island great video thx Mike
Good Talkin to you man! 🤙🏼 This OCTO was Dope and So glad to finally be able to Shop for Parts and Pieces for My Bus projects!! A lot of Good shit for sale today.
Thanks for making this video. I needed it. Gives me motivation to get in the garage to get my '66 back on the road. Great work on the crane truck by the way.
I was just at the 73 bus. I haven't seen it in 10 years. I was driving it. when I sold it. They are giving back to me. They let it go and it's going to be a few years till I can get it driving again. Busses forever!
Couple of questions, did the bay windows just stay home ? Where they parking someplace else ? And how could anyone NOT like this ? 7:48 that 23 window, wow. I did see a few here that look like mine....
Great show. Now I know why I can't find a bus in the Southeast, they are all in Calif. #64 DTSNICE double cab wins my vote. Yours is still my fave but I can't vote for you since you brought me along.
I did enjoy the commentary about the bus meet and the videos, thank you for that, one bus you highlighted I believe was a Kombi that was red bottom black top with 4 sale sign inside that said 400k or negotiable, was that man serious.I did not think it was a specialty bus .just asking 😎😎👍👍
Extremely rare original "barn door" deluxe. I personally think that is about 4 times what it "could" sell for, but remember it only takes one suck...er, buyer to make a legit sale. There are other busses like it in the world, but not many that are currently known.
yea I saw a guy with all 3 but I dint ask how much, also a guy who had the SC stripped had all the parts and sold them so cheap. I missed the side treasure chest door latches. he had several at 20 a piece. Some guy bought them all and I am sure they will be on the samba at 250 each.
@@Mikefngarage I knew I shouldn't have asked. Haha. Can't you buy those hinges from WW? 7:13 never seen that BD single before. Never ceases to amaze me the things that turn up! 25:40 Very early BD SC with smooth gates. Again, I've never seen that one before....I think.
was talking to Charlie Hammel ( host of the show.) He REALLY wants to see it. He was considering doing it because it was the oldest but too much time invested. He thought it was cool that it was being saved in any course and thought the square tubing was innovative. to get it done.
Yes. I saw at least two BD SCs in this video. The dove blue one was very early. Smooth gates are the earliest trucks, '53 and earlier from the factory.
@@ocavant It's funny to call them Barn Doors but I understand why. I would love to have one of those. My 1968 DC is my dream truck, I am a huge fan of all single cabs and double cabs, I just have a preference to the look of the bay window version. I prefer bay window cabs and split buses. It is cool to see the seamed double cabs too.
very few believe it or not. I am amazed how many people dont watch youtube. There are totally different people at events then on youtube. BUt there were about 5 to 8 people who did find me.
For those who couldnt attend This is almost like being there. what do you think LIke this comment if you agree.
Thanks from all of us who couldn’t be there. 👍👍👍😎😎😎
Owned a few, 57' single cab, 60 dual cab w/Wolfsburg features. (Gauges, steering, shifter, handles.) 70 fastback, 71 square back. 68 transporter.
Pleasant memories I passed along.
Almost forgot, sweet 60 transporter.

Top video. Thank you 👍🤙

Completely forgot about it. Thanks for shooting it!
took 2 hours to get in OMG never been like that ever
Mike Fn Garage Thats’s why I usually roll in about 8. I miss a few deals, but I just drive in and park in one of the back rows.
Glued to the screen Mike .......Love to see more of these ..Well Done ! Kind Regards Alex
Thanks for bringing us all along. Impossible to choose a favorite.
thanks taking time to record edit and post that video super quick.
love it. Thanks for putting this together for us.
that's pretty cool most of the car events I go to in NJ got put off or cancelled. really an excellent showing of cars! VWs

because we have an a-hole for a governor here in nj
thank you very much mike, i really enjoyed watching that video :)
Wow, so, now that you've been to the Mecca of the VW Bus world, you can call yourself "Haji Mike"!✌️👶✌️

there were a lot of DC there.. Probably even more. than I could film.
Amazing, love that they’re in all sorts of different conditions, too.
LOVE THEM,ALL ,BEAUTIFUL, thanks for sharing 👍
Some people ran out of gas
I think so I saw a few guys pushing cars in line behind me.
VW bus heaven!
Thanks Mike, a pleasant surprise!
400K. Oh Mark. lol
yea that bus is nice but I think that is a hail mary price. I saw a RHD original paint sell for 230k. BD
Tried to get my 66 down there but my RGB had a different plan. Looks like a huge turnout
bumma
@@Mikefngarage for sure. Thanks for the quick upload. At least I can see it on the Tube.

Great video I'm buying a barn door. Thanks for all the videos you put out. your treffen video was really good, the last treffen at phoenix club.
i wonder if EV west showed up with their split window pickup.
He didn't show up but my brother Jehu Garcia (Jag35) showed up on his electric 1967 13 window deluxe
I was going to go but I canceled last min! Wish I was there!
big one almost too big too too long to get in.
For those that went, how are prices (parts)? Still nutz? I need a rear gate (60’s)in fair condition. See any?
yea I saw a guy with all 3 but I dint ask how much, also a guy who had the SC stripped had all the parts and sold them so cheap. I missed the side treasure chest door latches. he had several at 20 a piece. Some guy bought them all and I am sure they will be on the samba at 250 each.

That RHD Safari was super clean
I was in line for over 1 hour that day 🤣
Woah I saw 1968 bay window double cab, is that allowed? I think it qualifies since it was manufactured in 1967 (while splitties were still being made)
only allowed if selling parts. and pay the extra cost for vendor pass. $$$
Thanks Mike what is the most Rarest VW Bug? is it the 23 Window Van 👍
there was a right hand drive 23 window barn door. Only 3 known to exist in the world. first one on the pan shots of the show
I thought the rarest was the s10 with man lift ?
Tony, legend has it that there's a '51 Samba frozen in a glacier at the top of Mt.McKinley, go get it, lol !
Probably lots of oil spots on the ground there. haha
Will you be taking the cherry picker when it’s finished been following your progress think your doing a great job bringing it back to life

Guess the Napa car snob took a wrong turn and wound up in SoCal...

Barn door panel @ 10m very cool. So basic.
