@@J.Allen_Photography same here!! LOL!! That cart is a life saver. Thank you for showing the way!. You are a master. I attached my flash with a Velcro to the cart also on windy days and saved my flashes. I learnt that from you.
Honsetly, I like this man naturally, whenever I watch his video I always gain something. Infact, he didn't say anything in his video I just like seeing him. ❤
Im just beginning my portrait journey. Done a few weddings so far as well. I shoot off camera flash as well with AD600, Canon R5 and RF50 1.2. I've had situations were its way too bright outside and I have to crank my shutter speed all the way up but want to keep at 1.2. What ND filter do you recommend for the RF50 1.2 so that I can keep that f1.2 aperture on bright days? A filter with very low colour cast would be nice.
Freewell sent me their variable ND / CPL. it’s the best I’ve ever used. I rarely use ND filters. I’ve been testing this one and really like it! It’s magnetic also! I’ll have a video for it soon…hopefully soon.
@J.Allen_Photography thank you. Really helps out a lot! Great video by the way. Always good to teach new photographers. I watch all your videos. Have you ever heard of Brandon Cole? He has a UA-cam portraits channel as well. You and him are real good!
Hi Jason, whats that cable coming out of the flash? Are you powering it with an AC Adaptor? Looks like it connected to a second flash unit on the bottom.
It’s a flash extension head. With all the winds we’ve been having. I use this. So it plugs in to the strobe. That’s what is on the ground. Just the bulb is in the softbox. Peace of mind!
If it me, or when shooting on overcast days like this, the colors turn out less vibrant, less saturation, than on sunny days? Grey like the sky. But, like you say, can't always wait for sunny days in order to schedule a shoot.
What worked for me was (if your camera has this setting in the menu) changing the picture style to “portrait”. It significantly added depth in colour! I found this setting on my Canon R10 in menu > the camera icon > picture style > portrait
How far do you think it is? The wide angle of the video camera I use makes it look a little further than reality. But I keep it where it gives me the light I need while also keeping it out of my photos. Sometimes it’s close enough and in the shot so I have to Ps it out…which takes longer on the back end then moving the light a little further away.
@@J.Allen_Photography I’m glad you kind of talked about that. That is one thing I struggle with, figuring out how many photos I let them know they will receive, for each photoshoot.
very informational. love your videos.
Great video and helpful tips - thanks for sharing 🙌 And I agree - what an amazing and BEAUTIFUL smile and girl 🤩
Great Video!!
I love your work. I purchased myself a cart just like yours after watching your videos and it was a life changer.
To think I carried that crap around for about a year!!! C-Stand as well.

Your shoos and models are always great! Tell me if you like the new wheels or not and where can I get them! 👍🙂
@@photoguyphotography I don’t like the wheels. But, they are now on a stand in my garage studio. So they have a place for sure!
love your work Jason. I'm learning so much from you!
Awesome awesome awesome video
You almost have me using off camera flash. Almost 😂 #nervous
Seriously, love your videos. I’ve learned so much and I don’t consider myself a newbie. 😊
Great video Jason
Ok Jason, I’m very new….how do you know you are 30’ away? What are you using to judge the distance from subject to camera?
I’m estimating my distance. It’s not 100%. I could step it off, but I’m just guessing

True story! Popping light does help getting color back on the subject though.
@@J.Allen_Photography By "Popping", do you mean more light power? Or maybe closer to subject?
@vernonr7404 just shooting with off camera lighting. Overcast is easy lighing usually, but I typically still shoot with OCF.
@@J.Allen_Photography Thanks. I'll try again.

Beautiful shoot. Do you shoot with DSLR only , or do you use mirrorless too
I started with DSLR back in the day. I’ve been mirrorless for about 4 years.
14:32 not only is it a time suck… it delays the client getting their photos!
Your soft box distance to subject is so far away.can you explain it.

Do you give the client an exact number of how many pictures you will be giving to them for the shoot, or what do you tell them?
Yes I do. Depending the type of session. I say this session will come with x amount of edited images.

Just curious to know, you’re using a polarized lens cover?
Yes

My friend your Editing is AMAzinnggggggggg: wooaaw: BLOW MY MIND: DO YOU HAVE A MASTERCLASS TUTORIAL HOW DO YOU EDIT YOUR PHOTOS STEP BY STEPß
If you close your aperture to F-7 to F-10 two or more subjects will be in be in focus as well
So will everything else. That’s not what I’m ever really wanting. Except in studio.
