I had the "magic drainpipe" at one time. I'm not one to keep a lot of old lenses around that I no longer use. But, I wish I had kept that one. I also had the Canon 200mm 1.8. That would be a nice one to have in a collection.
Great video as always. I appreciate that you took the time to make a video about these old classic lenses. Although these are really good ones of that time. Good thing that 80-200 is the Canon version because I personally have tried the Nikon one from 1988 and man is it slow and noisy!! The motors barely manage to pull the heavy elements from one end to the other, and it's insanely soft at 200. Canon was really ahead
I remember adapting an old Canon 300mm f/2.8 to my Sony A9. Boy was it heavy and slow to focus with about a 40% hit rate on fast moving kids. When it nailed focus, however, the results were extreme and very unique.
Great to see older lenses used for portrait photography, I only own one new lens, my Sigma 85mm f1.4 DG HSM Art, and a new Nikon D850, the rest is all second-hand bought... I also used a 300mm f/2.8 for portraits and it gives such a pleasing result.
@@J.Allen_Photography I'm not sure if this lens exists but I know Nikon and Canon do have a 200mm f/2.0 and they're the best portrait lenses ever but very heavy too.....
@@J.Allen_Photography Ok, I follow Nikon so I missed the Canon 200mm f/1.8 but know that both the Nikon and Canon 200mm f/2.0 really are beasts of a portrait lens. If I ever get a chance to purchase a Nikon version I won't hesitate!
Where in San Antonio? imI could only find the Alon town center. I will be there at the end of May and want to check out this and other locations from your videos like the creek one.
hey jason, havent watched a video in about a month, idk if you remember me from always commenting on your videos lol. but like always great job man, you make anything look great..ADVICE, when being so far away from your model i recommend just calling them on speaker phone and just have her put th phone on the floor right next to her so you guys still can communicate
I taken a photo of a model on the tracks at a railroad museum, meaning the track wasn't connected to anything. There was a box and a caboose from the 1900s on it. The admin of the Facebook group removed my post, I asked why and I told her it was a museum with a inactive line even provided the tag location. I didn't receive any apology but they changed the rules to no railroad pics of any kind museum or not. 😂 But photos of models walking and sitting on a busy streets are okay.😅
