  • 2018 Bass Tracker Pro Team 190 TX Running WOT with 1/2 tank of gas and all my fishing gear / tackle, estimated total weight of 1660 lbs, mild wind and a water temp of 88.5°. The 115 motor would only trim to 5600 rpm with this prop (SpitFire X7 4 bladed). Up on plane super fast. I'm happy with this GPS speed of 46.1 mph, handling and control. 18.8 foot with a 92" beam, Awesome! boat and highly recommended. Thanks for watching and please hit the like and subscribe button. Thanks!

A hydraulic jack plate (or even a manual plate, for that matter) would put up some incredible numbers on this boat.

I have the 2023 model like this one, same engine with the spitfire 4 blade 12.70 x 19. Loaded we have 2 ppl, full fuel, live wells topped off and gear for two. Top speed is 46.7 SOG at 5800 rpms. The boat actually handles better fully loaded on my home lake. The speed is plenty fast enough for us. I agree having this prop cut down to 12.60 would get more rpm and possibly more top speed. As I mentioned above, 46.7 mph is fast enough for Lake Lanier in Ga.

A 3 blade prop would give more top speed 4 blades are good for hole shot speed but create more drag and lower top speeds

Actually gained speed with the 4 blade, water conditions ( deep water lake) , 6 to 8 inch chop, loaded with gearbwith 2 ppl in the boat.

As a merc boat engine tech yes, it needs to go down in pitch to keep from dogging the engine……in some circumstances you can over heat a cylinder and cause major mechanical failure( burnt valve, burnt piston)

This is what the technician at Mercury recommended for this application. I just didn't have it trimmed up all the way because it is still under 10 break in time. I'm now running 55 rps and running 47.5 mph. The factory was 23P and this one is 19P

Your factory speedo looks like it's actually pretty accurate. If your tach is too, then it looks like you have about another 1000 RPM to play with. You could try dropping some prop pitch to get it closer to the max rated 6300 rpm and see if that gives you another ~2 mph or so.

Did you move the motor up to the 3rd hole? I have the same rig and I'm getting 50 GPS with a 19p 4 blades quicksilver nemesis prop. This is with a half tank of fuel and a tournament load of equipment. You might have to tinker with it because you should be getting more speed than that out of your boat.

@@sonnyhoang209 I am currently in the 3rd hole. I have the aluminum quicksilver nemesis prop which is the same as the spitfire prop. It is a good prop and will say it outperformed other four blade props of the same size. Why I have no idea. That being said I will say the prop will still break loose at higher speeds when cornering. Out of the hole it is much better than the 3 bladed props and it is night and day between the 2. Also I like how high the boat rides with this set up. That being said I can achieve 50 on the Garmin gps which is not bad for a tin can, lol. I have talked to others at the ramp that have the same boat who have gone with the Mercury X7 and say they love it and are getting 3 to 4 mph more than me. Then the fastest setup I heard was from a guy running his boat in the 2nd hole with a 20p laser 2. He said he was getting 55-56 mph. For the price difference I didn't find it worth the money for 3 to 4 mph. If I wanted to go fast I would have bought a fiberglass rocket ship just like I bought a cruiser instead of a sports bike. The versatility of this boat and durability have been amazing and I get a lot of places those other boats cannot. Good choice on boat and I will tell you I have had mine since 2017 and she has been rock solid. Hope this helps and tight lines.

@@sonnyhoang209 before I forget. On the boats speedometer, which is way off by the way. When tuning your boat based on the prop I was hitting 55 to 56 mph on the boat speedometer when achieving top speed and the rpm gauge is most likely way off as well. I am achieving the 6300 rpm on the boat rpm gauge wot. The thing is the boat seems like it has more and I would continue to trim it up. When you get to where the boat is about to break loose the boat is riding high and motor is making a very distinct sound. This is when I am achieving top speed. The boat will feel extremely light in the steering wheel but so stable and there is never any chine walking or corrective steering needed. Lastly when you start changing your own oil there are 2 oils they say you can use. 10w30 and 25w40. I decided to try the 25w40 and I feel like it makes the motor feel bogged down. Now the manufacturer calls for either which I think is weird but I know my boat and I know it doesn't feel the same. Im going back to a lighter weight oil.

I would think you would get more speed. I have a 2020 V17 Pro v-175 and it weighs 500lbs more with a 115 merc. I'm getting 42 GPS speed at 5200rpm. The dash speedo lies. I did change my prop and was getting 38 before. Boat had a 17 and went to a 19 3 blade.

Hi, I have a 2018 190 TX with a Mercury 115hp EFI 2,1L. I am running with a 13" x 19 Pitch prop. In the beginning with WOT I can reach 5500 rpm 42 mph. loaded with fishing gear and ice boxes. I don't know what happens, now after 1/2 hour on the water, the speed drop from 4mph, to 30 mph then 20 mph. I service the engine every year. Change engine, gear oil and water pump impeller. Please can anyone help?

I float a 2008 PT190 with 90hp2 stroke, 19P, 3 blade prop. With the boat empty and just me in it, I get about 51 mph. No jackplate. Loaded, I get about 47 mph, and that's with 2 or 3 people in it and gear

@benwhite3017 bolts are in the top hole. I weigh 230, my brother 220, and my better half 130, with gear, 45 mph all day. I can put it on the river without gear and by myself and get 50mph on calm water, 43-47 on choppy or windy water. I can turn 6200 rpm on a good day. Obviously, I rarely run like that, but it will do it. I take care of this motor better than I do myself. It's all in how it's been taken care of. I would eat dinner off of my motor. I don't know, I know another guy that I fish with, and I can outrun him, same boat. Timing advance might be a small part of it. There are a number of things you can do to put some pep in its step, but you just have to be smarter than than the next guy.

You are needing to let that amazing engines get some more rpms. Need to be up around or over 6000 rpm. They are rated to about 6300. Even the normal 115 is at its best around 5900-6000.

If his is like my 2021 190TX, you can’t trim it up far without the prop cavitating. I can’t even hit 6000 rpm with mine. 115 ProXS four stroke with factory prop. As you start trimming it to raise the bow, it starts cavitating.
