I am getting the 115 Pro XS put on my 18’ fiberglass bass boat . Single counsel. What size prop would you recommend for my boat ?
I have a 2015 115 Fourstroke. Great motor but would love to have the XS.
I agree I also was suppose to have xps 115 and when I went to pickup my boat after they were ringing it whole I was in hospital for 18 days. Picked it up with a commanf.thrust 115 as if I wouldn't know the difference then went out of business that month!!!!!
Que motor me aconsejáis para mi lancha glastron la raya ssv 163... Yo pensaba en un 115 pro xs . Potencia máxima para el barco 138 CV marca en la documentación.
Wanted this motor for over 2 years but got the etec g2-115ho when it release because of the clean rigging, digital control and power steering. I believe mercury also have auto trim. Now im wonder if this is stronger than evinrude????? That acceleration in video is pretty damn good. But I get slightly worse fuel economy and similar speed.
It's strange u rarely seen 2 strokes over 1000 hours so maybe mercury is better cos I boat alot. About 80 hour per year
Yea i got one also, can't get it to go over 5800 rpm 38 miles an hour on 17 foot alumacraft phantom ? Only has 3 hours out of the box maybe I got a 🍋 ?
Quick question I just bought 2022 legend 18ft deep V boat same motor mercury 115 pro xs but my top speed only go up to 5100rpm and 60km it that my max? and only 2 ppl on the boat I try push it all the way down try to go up to 6000 and 7000rpm and it won't go only 5100
great review great motor can you share with us the size of the boat and how many pounds? also is this the command trust 115hp Proxs? thanks.
not sold in brazil. it's a pity
Whst prop size
I just specked one on my new Vexus 1880
So how much faster is the Pro XS vs. the standard F115?
I am thinking that the XS is about 1 to 2 mph faster with better hole shot and midrange
What is the perfect prop and pitch for this 115
Im running 14 x 19 4 blade on my Thunderjet Luxor 20' 2100 lb boat, tops out at about 38 mph and plenty of holeshot torque
Good to know! I’m waiting for the ice to melt to be able to take my explorer out. I have the same prop and would be just ecstatic with similar numbers. Is yours a CT model?
Great Lakes Eyecatcher yes, CT lower with the standard 4 blade aluminum prop.
Awesome, Thanks! I was worried that I might be way over propped, but this is eliminating some of those concerns. Do you remember off hand what your RPM’s looked like at WOT?
Will that pro xs fly over the shallow water tho?
Good motor for a four stroke; Mercury needs to up their game though and stop investing in four strokes and start investing in DI two strokes. Their four strokes can't even compete with their own optimax platform, which has remained the same for years. Evinrude's 2 stroke G2 is beating the crap out of everything in every area. Come on Merc, update your opti and kill the competition!
sawmaster 609 The future is 4 stroke. Mercury and Yamaha the leaders in the outboard field are building great 4 strokes. BRP needs to give up on the unreliable 2 strokes that a few suckers are buying. The Evinrude ETecs are heavy and complicated. Avoid at all cost. Go Merc or Yamaha.
They aren't as heavy as current four strokes and have far less moving parts. There seems to be no indications of the new Etecs being any less reliable than four strokes, in fact a number have put thousands of hours on their new G2s without issue. If you want to believe the four stroke hype be my guest but me and countless others have real world experience that tells us the new DI two strokes are simply put better engines. Nothing wrong with the four strokes, they are just a lot more work to maintain and burn a lot more fuel and don't have the performance of DI two strokes
Apparently you are not too up on the new 2-stroke technology? The new Etecs are simply amazing engines and you can keep you heavy 4-stroke, I'll take the 2-stroke all day long.
No, not yet. Allegations are being made that shortly they will be releasing the 115G2 in straight 3 cyl 2 stroke configuration.
Evinrude, and "American made" products in general are not renowned for their reliability,(Chrysler jeep dodge are a good indication of this) I would look at a japanese made 4 stroke outboard. Honda's are on special at the moment.. 7 Year warranties too, which indicate to me that Honda think that their engine is the best in the world. I am led to believe that the Honda bf115 is the most fuel efficient of all the 115 outboards. reports of 3km/l are not uncommon, and you don't have to spend extra money on 2-stroke oil at $75/5lt, adding to the running costs.
I know, 300hr Evinrude service intervals.... But I see no other real advantages, as my twin 115's almost throw me out of my boat now....
For all us non metric people the 115 xs gets 6.35 miles per gallon of fuel
Hello. The Mercury 115 PRO XS engine you show has a black bottom, I saw a silver bottom ... what's the difference between the engine? What is the difference?

Mercury and Yamaha are building great 4 stroke engines unlike BRP who is trying to keep the formerly bankrupt Evinrude afloat by building their refrigerator looking 2 strokes.
I love Mercury but, the Evinrude etec out performs all, all, all 4 strokes! Sorry, just facts! A 2 stroke engine will live way longer at higher rpms. Drive your car or truck at 6,000 rpms most of the time and see how long it lives
@@luketilley9137 never heard of any problems as of today from tournament guys running yamaha and merc 4 strokes
4 strokes have smaller problems 2 strokes just completely blow up
And 4 strokes are just more economical.
@@luketilley9137 Your wrong,,, the new for strokes will outlast a 2 stroke at the same rpm all day long. Look at the motorcycle superbike 4 strokes running 14000 rpms all day longgggggggggg.
@@luketilley9137 the 2 stroke will blow up if you keep running it at high rpms put a turbo on both 2 stroke and 4 stroke not only will the 4 stroke be able to handle the turbo but itll also be faster
For an exciting motor this is one very boring video
I bought 2019 xs pro 115 absolutely love the motor. Massive hole shot with 6 people in my 19' stingray CC. Top speed with 2 people 43mph.
Wow, we have the same exact boat and motor!
@@brotherdaquan1217 deadly i was gone say something rude but ill keep my thoughts to myself im looking at my first motor for myself idk what to get just yet first outboard ever idk maybe suzuki
@@edwardabrahamiii3742 why would you say something rude?
43 MPH , RPM??
