Wow! Editing is an art--to use what are inert and one dimensional assets and to craft them into conveying a the real pulsing energy of the event and life is a truly talented thing to convey. Great job Daniel! 😮
Well done, great running. My 13 year old son ran a mile race at 8:30pm with loud music, giving him a PB of 4:50 he super happy 😊 he meet Megan Keith at the London mini marathon, said she so nice. He finished 5th in that 😊
Please teach the world to celebrate a PB, you ran faster than you have ever run that distance in all of your years of running and you were on the struggle bus early on, learn your lessons, but tell runners of the world to be happy and grateful for a PB. We are super proud of you!
recommend everyone to watch Phily's race if you can. from the pacemaker loosing her patience after being bullied, to the many different leaders pushing the pace, and the most nail biting finish I have seen this year. It was absolutely amazing.
Brilliant video! You were like a rockstar at the event! Autographs, photos with everyone! Excellent! Must make you feel on top of the world! Congrats on the PB as well! Love the grind!👍🇨🇦
I don’t even run (I do long distance walking, 20+km) but have been following you on TikTok for ever as you’ve the most REAL take on life and sport and mental health that I’ve managed to find in a creator. Absolutely dig your take on fitness and how it fits into your general wellbeing. Never change.
I watched this live on iPlayer and it was AMAZING. I kept shouting GO ON PHILY when the camera panned round. Keith was amazing, the last sprint at the end I was jumping off my sofa haha. Congrats getting a PB, Phily! =D LOVE THE GRIND
I ran my first half yesterday Phily, largely inspired by you :) My goal was sub 2:30 and I ran 2:18, with negative splits! I've learned so much about running from your channel and appreciate you (and Daniel!) putting such high quality content out for us every week!
@@t-bird-cz4ob thank you :) I had been running casually for over a year before signing up for a local training clinic! I trained consistently for almost 5 months before my race
I was there & I spotted myself in a crowd shot 😊 It was so much fun to see you in the flesh, hear everyone cheering for you, but also I could see how hard you were focusing & working for it, it was a lesson in Loving the Grind! We believe in you & amazing race results to come, but no matter your times, the inspiration you are to us amateur runners cannot be underestimated ❤
Good video. What would make it so much better is to add split times into the race footage as well as showing the finish time immediately as you are shown crossing the line. Too many running vloggers think it is good to keep the time a secret and bring in a big reveal, presumably to keep us watching all the way through. Let me say, give us immediate feedback during and instantly, in big font on the screen. Thanks.
I watched the livestream and was cheering my heart out every time that I saw you on screen. Congrats on the PB Phily. You did amazing out there. Also Morgan Keith did bloody brilliantly. I was roaring her down the home straight.
This video is so beautifully crafted. Phily, you are an inspiration and Daniel, you tell a beautiful story through your editing. I got all choked up watching this
I don't think videos give real justice to the atmosphere & the level of support around the track. It was deafening at times. I was rooting for you near the lactate tunnel & you looked laser focused. I know you're not entirely happy Phily with how your race went but Well done on the PB & big shout out to Megan Kieth on an awesome run.
Thanks for this recap, and well done for holding on... and for the PB ! This video is so inspiring, full of grit and beautiful running ! Well done also to Daniel, these videos are a thing of beauty and they're a pleasure to watch. At one moment, you say you wish you had forced the other girls to lead : how do you do that during a race ? Slow down ?
Well done Phily, I was watching the live feed and you did well to stick at it and grind it out. Track races are brutal, I've only done up to 5k on the track and I hated it. To get a PB on any day you have done a lot right, your heading in the right direction.
As an American I must say Philly in normal vlog mode 👌 Philly in post race brain dump at high speed speech for me is “Yep sounded British didn’t catch any of that,” 😂 Great video as always. A huge inspiration and you wouldn’t be a true competitor if you only looked back at things positively. Constructive regrets are so important. Can’t wait for the 1500m video!
Congratulations Phily, we watched it on telly live, and noticed you were running in what at first looked like local club colours, but Manchester to Dorset is a long way to go to join a club😀
Congrats on so many levels. To the race organizers, this is how running events should be staged, absolutely brilliant SEB COE TAKE NOTE.........Great effort individually, a PB is always something to celebrate and now it becomes your next goal. Video production outstanding, one of the best down to earth, authentic running / life channels on UA-cam. Here's to 100k sub soon.
A massive congratulations Phily!!! Just ran my first marathon in 3hrs12 and kept coming back to your videos/advice over my training block - such a massive inspiration!!! Also Daniels filming/editing did an amazing job at capturing the energy and the atmosphere...power duo!!!
Hey Phily, Tuned in to the livestream to watch the race as BBC was late getting things going on the red button 😂 Absolutely fantastic atmosphere, even at home it felt special - can only imagine what it would've been like there! When i'm running (usually happens in a race) I seem to zone out and miss so much happening around me. Seems to happen only when i'm going "balls to the wall" as you would say! Maybe an indication that you emptied the tank more than you think. Don't beat yourself up, it's experience, learn from it and move on - have a plan in place for that scenario from now on - better learning it now than in the LA '28 qualifiers! Love the grind! 💚❤💚
Congrats on the PB. Whenever I coach someone or just share advice with runners when I’m pacing marathons I always tell them there are no bad days. Every day you can run a race is a good day because you always collect data. You can use that data to improve for the future. Generally, that translates to ‘I collected a lot of data today’ on the days that didn’t go as planned. 🤣 At the end you talked about the HR monitor on your arm. Have you ever considered running with a Stryd power monitor rather than running based on pace and/or HR? Definitely a mind shift, but also helpful. It also forces you to leave time behind. Aside from when I’m actually pacing a marathon, I never look at my pace. When I’m racing I race to power and let time take are of itself.
I discovered this TV thing called BBC iPlayer. I never knew it existed and it let me watch the night of the PB's without having a VHS tape - flabbergasted! Even got to see Jacob's amazing finish in the Oslo Diamond League last night. Must be awesome to be at these events in person.
Just finding you. Loved the night of the 10000 PBS watched it on you tube and the atmosphere looks amazing. you did a PB enjoy learn and move forward. Keep grinding.
Knew this video would be here for me to enjoy after my second ever half marathon this morning so have put my feet up with a drink and some biccies chilling with this 👌
You're right about the first split being the fastest. I much prefer going out slightly too slow if anything. That way can make it up over the kms and much easier on the system. You play in hard mode by busting a gut in the first km.
They are indeed tough - especially when hot or windy! And, although being lapped is never something to relish, getting into those elite fields and running well makes it a necessary evil.
Change your mind and start running in kilometers! More datapoints, shorter gaps and more "laps" to monitor your pace and progress! Metric much better in any case!
congratulations on a PV don’t spend too much more time on regret though and just go on yesterday. I ran a 12 K up in the mountains in the hills a trail race with them about 2000 feet again. I still took first place in my age group 60+, but I was slower than the year before and I was like bummed instead of being excited.
Hello Philly, I watched your race live and cheered you on all the way round. I found your insights on how the race interesting and can relate to what you said. I liked the bit where you mentioned that a coach said don’t worry how you feel in your warm up. I find that on my taper week I always feel crap and then on race day everything is fine. Race tactics and thoughts are interesting when you think about how the race went and the choices we make in races. You had a plan and stuck to it. I did that in my duathlon at the weekend and won my AG and second overall. Would different tactics on the first run have made any difference? I don’t know and I might have had a worse result. When a race is though and I feel like I’m struggling hearing my name called makes me smile and gives me a little boost. Well done Philly, I wish I could run as well as you and wish you continued success 😊
Just from watching you and allie ostrander take the maurten bicarb it really seems like you should be able to swallow it correctly and with much less hassle with a boba straw
Curious to know if you think maybe being in a slower race & being a bit more amongst the leaders in the race would end up with you running a faster time?
There seems to be a pattern in your training blocks, you always get a cold at some point. worth investigating. If you put this time in VDOT it´s equivalent to 2:29 something marathon... coincidence? Congrats on the PB!
Great job Phily. One question, why do all the athletes have a different number on their vests from their shorts? I dont have much knowledge of track racing
Don't be hard on yourself, its still a pb and you have only been racing for 15 years, you will improve the more you do it. You also don't really race on the track and 32 mins for 10K is amazingly fast - it's super fast.
It is 4 in the morning. Got a marathon to run in 3 hours. Watching this vid to pump myself up. Congrats on your PB!!
Good luck
good luck my man
Good luck
Go get it 💪
Good luck 🎉

Literally just yestarday ran my own 10k pb at 41:27, down from my previous 42:53!
Definately over the moon with it. Congrats to you!
Good improvement 🎉

Unbelievable fast time! I just finished my first ever official 10k in 57:50min, so you were almost twice as fast 😂

The calm but also somehow melancholy and suspenseful music to the absolute quiet to the gun and then the intense music was so amazing, great editing 😍

Great video as always and great editing by Daniel. Always look forward to it dropping on Sunday morning.
Also ran a 10k PB last week! 43:58 down from 45:55. Well done, Phily!
Wow!

Absolutely awesome seeing Phily LOCKED IN. Woman was activated on that start line.
The editing on this is next level! Well done Daniel!!
Smashed it! You should be proud of what you achieved, and you keep improving so it can only get better 👍
I want to hire Daniel as my cheerleader. 😂 He is so good at it.
Loved watching the live stream and gutted I couldn’t make it to be there in real life! Keep up the progress!
Never stop learning. Never stop searching. Never give up the grind
Editing and music on this was absolutely sick. Banger when the race started 🕺🕺🕺
I watched this live online and I was ridiculously excited 😂 Well done!
You did well Phily ❤ You were so tough, even knowing in the race you wouldn't hit your goal time but still going strong and getting this PB! ❤
a PB and more support than Megan Keith! Lovely stuff.
DnB and 'come on philly', goosebumps everytime. Great vid 👌

Smashed it Phily! Had a few tough ones recently but keeping your head up and you’ll be smashing minutes off PBs soon rather than shaving seconds 💪💪💪

Race: Nike...? Streakfly? Rivalfly?

It sounds like your takeaway was that you ran a PB AND you could have gone faster.
You are your own PB.
