Whenever I came home from school I used to see this program religiously and I do mean religiously.
Now that I am an adult, it brings back plenty of fond memories of my youth. How time flies by.
Please do give me thumbs up if you enjoyed watching this clip of the Mickey Mouse Club very much of it. ©®

God, I still remember watching Old School Episodes in 1976 when I was 10. I had no idea of it's legacy. In fact a programming genius at ABC used to put the Show on after American Bandstand when it was still based in Philadelphia, PA, so from 3:30 to 6:00 The afternoon was owned by The Teenagers. I heard that you really had to know your stuff if you wanted to be a Mouseketeer. Can you sing, dance, play a musical instrument, write a song, ride a horse. Another thing I admired was that no matter what "era" it was, they always made sure the "Children" stay on top of their Books. That's saying alot since so many Child Stars (even to this day) don't have proper educations let alone Lifeskill Lessons. What was so shocking is that some of them had "complicated" lives. One was in the closet who lost his Husband due to Alzheimer's and had to keep it a secret and Annette died of MS while Darlene went to Prison on a Faux Pas Ponzi Scheme. Can you imagine how "challenging" it must have been to live in Annette's Shadow.

Lonnie was the nickname i grew up with, but Bobby and Annette were my favorites.👍Along with the very talent Doreen.
Jimmy Dodd was the perfect host. So sad he passed on so young.
The entire show was innocent and delightful. A totally different Era.
Everything went south after the murder of JFK, the Vietnam War, and the Beatles & Rock Shock "musick".

Was a big fan, my sisters brothers and I watched the Mickey Mouse Club after school on weekdays. I was a Disney Employee at age 18, worked on the mules at Anaheim Disneyland. My older brother worked on the trams in the parking lot and my younger brother in a shop at Disneyland Hotel. After a 20 year hiatus, I returned to work for Disney. The mules had been gone for over a decade, so I worked on the parade crew, with the horses. Most of the "castmembers" that I worked with when I returned, were much younger. However, two that I'd worked with on the mules, were still working for Disney, they were driving the horse drawn street cars on Main Street.

If you are of a certain age, you may remember that when NPR's All Things Considered first came on the radio in the 70s, their theme music was also a circus march very similar to the MMC's opening. NPR regularly changed their music through the years and greatly de-emphasized it. In the beginning it was very jaunty with tubas and such and lasted for a minute or so. It was -- as I said -- very similar to the circus parade music that the MMC used. That could not have been an accident, both shows beginning at 5 p.m. And in the beginning, ATC was born in what now seems like an idyllic time although -- fact checking myself -- I have to observe that this was the decade after the uproarious 60s. But the 70s went very mellow, lots of brown bread and Crosby, Stills, and Nash. ATC was very upbeat, too. I remember star host Susan Stamberg doing a funny interview with Jimmy Carter's dentist. (Carter was noted for his very white, slightly buck teeth.) It was a time of innocence and good feeling. Not like now. Not at all. And even the happy music is gone.

I am probably related to John, since my family was Marshall back to the founders and Chief Justice John Marshall. I want to see part 2. I dearly LOVED Karen and Cubby. Cubby was my overall favorite as I LOVE drums and he could play as well as anyone at a young age. What talent. I would have loved to be a Mouseketeer and had the cap. I could sign and dance. Thanks John for putting these together for us to treasure and like our children see them. My daughter knew about it as I found things about about it for her, and I think she was born before the 2nd group which could not hold a candle to the first.

At the age of 9 I thought then the singling and dancing was for girls. Now thanks to UA-cam I watch them and wish for the old days again. Our entertainment world is like a cancer ward now, disgusting lyrics, no melody unless you consider a bass drum the centerpiece of the band, ugly unisex performers and awful stories. No wonder our grandchildren are so fouled up. Used to love the Hardy Boys and Spin and Marty. Great adventures for boys of our era. Not sure when MMC ended it’s afternoon run, but sports and a newspaper route tore me away from the old Philco. Those were the days. I guess every generation says these things at this time of their lives.
