He never mentions how the combination will create value for consumers - only talks about creating value for advertisers. Interesting.

AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson made a promise to invest in his workforce and create at least 7,000 jobs if the tax bill passed. Well, the bill passed and AT&T laid off over a thousand workers after it received a $20 billion tax cut windfall.
It’s clear that CEO Stephenson hasn’t followed through on his promise to invest in working people. Now, even more money is going straight to the richest Americans while working people struggle to get by with less.

targeted TV ads...based on what customer data, age, location? Not that it would happen but would be kinda awkward to have ATT internet and realize its sniffing through your internet traffic to display "relevant" ads lol.
The whole model needs to change or will crash in the near future because younger people will choose relevant networks for product discovery over non targeted TV advertising. I can see something along the lines of micropayment for premium content bandwidth or something like that though.

I hope, pray, and -want to- believe AT&T will win judicial approval for Time Warner merger.

When 5g is implemented, micro media companies like mine will give the majors a lesson in how the two dollar window can bring millions of new customers with disposable income who make less than $40,000 a year to the platform.

Randall has little control on AT&T and when top talent leaves (HBO CEO), you are left with an overvalued asset you just paid way too much for.

Kafka changes the question on Stephenson @ 8:37. A slime ball move by the interviewer.

Kafka is surprisingly ignorant of these trends. Is he new to all of this?

Declining sales and business mode. Buys a media company for top dollar in an over saturated market and takes on 180b in debt. I don’t think this guy understands. It’s going to cost billions to start creating original content and I doubt they get anywhere close to the valuation of a similar content providing company. AT&T to follow GE
