Create a portfolio, move to LA, start doing the rounds. You're in for a disappointment though- notice 2 things from this video- all the examples are from nearly 20 years back, and all the current examples are "used by the computer animators for reference". The jobs just aren't there anymore. Not like they used to be.
@Jesus has given you all. Repent or die. The purpose of life is to worship Allaah. in islam we believe in jesus, but we believe that jesus was a prophet sent by Allaah
I knew Mark back in high school. He was passionate about movie special effects from the very start. We all knew he was going to do some great things. Great job Mark!
They do this to make them money lol they don’t care about bringing fun into ppl life’s lol they want that multi million dollar check to “bring fun” / better lifestyle into there lives lol
Honestly animatronics still make such cool props and can really bring monsters and characters to life. It's a shame we don't use them as much anymore, I think they'd work really well when they enhanced with the amazing CGI we have.
They are used for thr reference bro. If it existed in real life they would have took the real life reference. These models allows to get rhe reference of the lighting shadows and also a view point to the actors to get the perfect emotions.
The animatronic looks so much cooler and it takes a really good director to know how to use them spectacularly. The cgi doesn’t create tension and scariness. Looks more like a video game to me.
I'd imagine they could, but just doing a basic search on robot arms, they seem to go for around 20,000 American dollars at the cheapest, so it'd most likely be far out of the budget for most patients.
I'm definitely in love with robotics and IT stuff, and as much as love visual art, I'm so sad that such incredible, smooth moving animatronics, were CGI-ed af during post-production 😢😔
Why are servos still being controlled with joysticks instead of tiny input devices directly in a glove for instance or motion control from vision input from a human face and neck?
Animatronics combined with computer graphic can create realistic effect rather than using one alone, case in point: Jurassic Park and Terminator 2. The tech used in animatronics is compatible with prosthetic design, just need a brain-to-device chip now.
My thoughts exactly but very complicated almost impossible. Especially for storing the amount of data it needs effectively. At least we can really appreciate biological programming :).
Mad respect for the ingenuity and effort. However, I can't give any credit when watching movies these days because I suspect all such effects are now simply computer graphics.
How does one get into these kind of job. The hands-on, tech-based, problem-solving stuff here is exactly what I want in a career

I feel like people just end up in these kinds of specialized jobs by chance because they are so rare and niche.
The expressions shown at 2:44 are so incredible, I would have thought they were cgi. I didn’t even know that level of facial control was possible.
The amount of work put into making realistic animatronics really shows how beautifully complex biology is.
They do this just to bring fun into our lives.... Much respect
Woah!! thanks for the likes guys
Dey also do it to make millions of dollars
Might be fun to showcase ones skill and creativity in such ways aswell
And money into their pockets.
@@ThemeParkBeast98 hey. its still a win win. Make good movie = More people watch. More people watch = More Money

I LOVE him geeking out about the new tech. It's delightful, he's like a kid on Christmas morning
The hand and head expressions are amazing! Definitely would love to see this technology incorporated into real Androids!
Why we already have humans?
@SkyJamieson in order to have real androids, lol
5:25 Scary Monster
5:31 Sassy Alien
Remember: Animatronics tend to get a little bit quirky at night
No.
I knew there would be a reference
we see u roblox boi
Roblox is bad game
We all gonna to day ;(
Imagine adding those in prosthetics, obviously the size of a normal human arm
Animatronics never fail to impress me
The second I saw the hand i knew it was from Hansel and Gretel: Witch hunters. Such an under rated movie with great story centric effects
It's a shame they cover up all those great practical effects with CGI
these robots have their limits

Great to hear that those kind of arts isn't dead.
Gah, great work: those things even without their skin on give me the creepies with their movement. They look alive for sure.
Gah
i love practical effects
Wow these folks are truly the magic makers!
Definitely better than CGI. Great video !
I can't imagine how awesome it would be to act alongside these things.
This was riveting. I'd love to learn how to do this!
No wonder the „CGI“ in Hellboy looked so real! Practical effects evolved into robotic science!
Cutting edge strain wave drives are more than strong enough to rival most biological muscles. Problem is, they can cost up to 30,000 USD per unit.
I like that no one controls the robots I find that cool. 😎😎😎🙂🙂🙂
Definitely better than CGI. Great video
Mark Setarkian is the MASTER.
Nothing more scary than the Exorcist doll.
everyones gangsta til the animatonics starts becoming alive
This got me into wanting to make my own cosplay with an animatronic face
This is type of carrer that you always keep your childhood alive!!!
Don't you hate it when these things just jumpscare you at 3am?
Halloween parties with these guys must get wild
The real life models for the white spikes are terrifying, compared to the dull grey version in the movie.
This Man on his own animatronics world. Awesome
Really it takes so much effort to do it all.
Whoa, these are impressive!
This is incredible! Why can't they use this tech to develop lifelike prosthetics for everyday use?
To big to work in regular sized hand
The have develope already

Animatronics can't do everything. That's why CGI is necessary.
Robotics can make life with electriconics
Why are servos still being controlled with joysticks instead of tiny input devices directly in a glove for instance or motion control from vision input from a human face and neck?
Depends on the final application. We use a variety of control systems.
I’m definitely watching some of these movies now
This has to be one of the coolest jobs in the world I'm so jealous
Adam’s Family Thing was dope af back in the day pulling the wagon 🤣
Of course the original Kongs hand was the real gangster OG tech!
So much science and brain they put into making the movie
Those animatronics do get freaky at night - FNAF
WOW! Fantastic work
Hello:)
I ALWAYS RESPECT TO BRILLIANT PRACTICAL ANIMATION.
As mechatronics engineer, I wish I worked in something like this 🤧🤧
That's much cooler than cgi
FNAF out here making animatronics out of CGI
?
The large hand is outstanding ..
That cascading technique is amazing.
Love that new Hansel and gretal

That guy in friends grew up feels good for him
I hope films use more puppets and animatronics as the technology advances.
Los animatrónicos son parte fundamental del cine pues aportan sensación de realismo
When talking about animatronic in real life, most of the people immediate thought is FNAF XD
Who else imagined the robotic hand come to life and overriding the joystick control to strangle the human
Nice to see they still use animatronics . I thought it was a lost art
This was pretty eye opening.
❤️ Admire the voice of the commentator? And the documentary.
CGI is a special effect with no 'soul'.
I know what I mean anyway 😁👍🇬🇧
Much better than the Godzilla movies. You could see the strings/wires holding up the creatures back then. 🦖🦕🐸👀
You and Mark explained this very well, thank you!
Underappreciated Geniuses
These are better to watch than the movies they're in...
wow. this is how it was made. amazing. I'm very impressed
this is soooo awesome!!!
thank you for sharing.
I love the mechanical electronic informatic and robotic engineering. imagine if spectral motion is merged with AI
Amazing work guys ❤️💯

Thank you for the update, Insider..!! The robotics is an amazing technology.@.@
I want to be in this industry so bad! Making monsters would be awesome!
Incredible 💥
I really enjoyed watching this it was pretty cool!
This is some scary technology
Honestly the animatronic hands were the best actors in hansel and gretel:witch hunters
It is interesting and scary at the same time …who else thinks so…
Wow, gr8 monster making. Would b gr8 on holloween. Thx 4 sharing on Utube.
A Five Nights at Freddy fan watching this be like:
I bet he made at least one animatronic and trapped a adult and a kid in it
Practical effects my beloved
That's amazing and so cool to see!
Those are terrifying even when in real life.
One thing that comes in my mind after seeing this video: Fnaf 🐻
That's flippin awesome
These underlying mechanics without skin are even deserving of its own sci fi movie .
😂beilive me if i was to see that wolf at night i would get heart attack its soooooo realistic
Beautiful VLOG ❤️
