Personally I enjoy the process of making a movie than I sometimes enjoy the actual movie, I like to see the team of actors cg artists and everyone else show their parts into making these alot more
I’m in awe of movie magic.. Makes my heart skip a beat when I see it done really well, simple tricks that we don’t notice so we just focus on the story but when broken down reveal the genius within the creations. So cool!
Super speed has always been amazing to me. It basically means the guy is either frictionless or he's able to generate a localized vacuum around him since the atmosphere isn't being compressed in front of him. Since he's not naked, I would assume something like a localized vacuum
He also can accelerate a person to several hundred kilometers an hour with almost no effort... Not really realistic. Although that whole concept is quite stupid. But awesome to look at and dream of.
right, but it's probably something more of a relativistic nature. In order to also account for the shear damage he'd also cause to everything he touched. At his speeds, he'd leave a lot more carnage than what we've seen in the movie.
So, 3000fps is 125x the standard 24fps. That means that 1 second of action would last 2 minutes and 15 seconds, not 15 seconds. Simple correction, but 1/125 real time is drastically slower than 1/15.
My favourite scene like this is in Big Fish, where Ewan McGregor's character walks through a circus tent that has floating popcorn in the air. As he walks he pushes it out of the way, and all the kernels he touches fall to the ground in real time. I've always wondered how that was done
I watched the frozen in time effects a lot in the series "Dead Zone". In their extras on their DVDs they stated that some of the techniques they used were ones they developed first for many of the scenes.
I love Hedda Virik, the props master for the film The Worst Person in the World. She`s my friend and she is totally awesome and very talented and smart kid!
I hope to see a Quicksilver movie. He is such an interesting character. And I enjoyed this whole video a lot. Practical and special effects really work the best cinematic magic.
Great video. Excellent example of how professionals with training and experience will almost always put out higher quality content than random UA-camrs. No shade against random UA-camrs, I love them, but tbh I’m getting really sick of all of the aimless repetitive rants, lack of research, and sloppy editing. Nice to see something with a lot of thought and care put into it.
"i don't know any animal that want's to do nothing" Lol. She hasn't known many bulldogs. My bulldog likes to sleep so much I have sometimes check if my dog's still alive.
I'm glad u have spent a lot of time on the time freeze in the worst person in the world because I was mesmerized by it. I was like this can be done in indie films as well? It was quite extensive and served the story well. Best time freeze I have ever seen
What about all those scenes in the Flash? Among many scenes, there’s a whole episode called “Flashtime” where you see it as if you were a speedster (aka frozen in time) and they don’t mention the Flash at all?
It was very frustrating for me when the narrator keeps saying "Days of Future Past" and "Apocalypse" when they're referring to "First Class" and "Days of Future Past"
The one thing that doesnt work though. Is the speed the actors moving.... Quick silver as an exemple... He was found moving inconsistently at 3 different speed during the explosion scene. And by that we mean hes changing speed from scene to scene without any reason to. It is really really hard to make it look real for so many reasons.
@@stevenstygles255 ok imagine this... your athlete runs at 30 miles per hour... he does one step and now he's running at 15 MPH he does another step and now hes running at 150mph he does another step and he's back to 30. thats how quicksilver was from scene to ascene in the movie.
@@dndbasement2370 yes, athletes speed up and slow down all the time . Have you ever runned before. And again quicksilver is super-powered and has more acceleration than normal people . And for him to make turns on the dime he would need to de-accelerate at tremendous speeds.
The problem with the Quicksilver scenes is some of it looks great, but other things look obviously CGI. Like the vegetables and the table. Pizza dog gets a pass because it's more a comical stylistic choice rather than being realistic. But when you combine the things that look like CGI with either good CGI or practical items, the bad CGI stands out even more.
You cannot get around F=ma. Even if someone could move superfast, the friction between his shoes and the floor could not accelerate him as Hollywood portrays. Even if you could get around this, it would require superstrength to accelerate his body parts as portrayed. Even if you could get around the physics of the individual, he would need to mangle and pulverize those he "saves" to accelerate them so suddenly.
Directors and their crews concentrate so much effort and time and money into effects...without producing films with stories, plots, and characters. I don't have much interest in their films. Scenes with pots and pans and cups flying around just don't hold my interest, if that's all that the scene has to offer. I prefer vintage films which I can find on youtube. I appreciate plot lines and character development.
All that work was 1000% worth it. The Quicksilver scenes in that movie are iconic
@@weplaywax they look so fake it’s basically a cartoon 😂
Hats off to you insider for always giving us these behind the making footage
Making of footage was all publicly available insider doesn’t have special access to this stuff
they really give us the "INSIDE" scoop! HAAaaaa......
i'll see myself out
@@goatpepperherbaltea7895 nobody said they did, they deserve credit for making it easily accessible and digestible for the public though.
I ❤️ that you’re also giving smaller budget movies the recognition they deserve 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

you don’t understand how often i think about how these scenes are made and i’ve never had an answer. this channel is amazing now i can die in peace.

1:43 Who else saw the officer blink? That blink was fast.😄
Quicksilver's frozen in time scene is the best
Honestly it’s one of my favorite movie scenes!!
They better find a way to REALLY bring this version of Quicksilver (Evan Peters) into the MCU. That's all I'm saying.
Hats of to the prop artists, the effect artists in these movies/series.
This one is so interesting to me! Keep these movie secrets vids coming! (:

Very nice
I have always wondered how they do this. Thanks!
The moment I saw this scene I thought it must be a pain in the *ss to produce something like this.
"i don't know any animal that want's to do nothing"

THE QUICKSILVER SCENE WAS GREAT!
"I don't know any animal that wants to stand still and do nothing." She's obviously never met a cat.
Tape and rocks are such simple, yet important components.

@1:43 the officer blinks 😂 so fast for a normal human
well its pretty realistic since a human blinking is 1/3 of a second
*Wii need a Quick Silver movie now!* 💡
The twilight zone? The one where a helicopter crashed killing 2 children and the actor?
And the director is still making movies
Best time freeze I have ever seen
X-Men Quick silver part is the greatest fast running scene of all tiime.

Animal that wants to stay still: sloth
I am oddly happier knowing that practical effects are still used today and will the many more years.

Maybe it tires him out. So maybe he is reserving energy when he is going slower. And he speeds up when he needs to or maybe he likes being dramatic
Super-speed is inherently hard to make it look real, because it's impossible.
Kind of like track athletes or anyone can't stay at the same speed . So it actually makes more sense to have different speeds.

So, the freeze scene from Big Fish is using wires and make people to act still?
Adam Sandler's "Click" had to do a lot back in 2006 without all the stuff they have now.
Amazing
Best scene in the whole movie
What about Cashback?
There’s a really unfortunate mistake in the worst person in the world scene. If you watch the child in the pink jacket, you’ll see it.
