Boy grows obsessive, stalks and gets caught by police . Boy is sent to an insane asylum, where he is reliving his old house style . Boy is now insane . That should be it .
@@kaylakay1241 Sometimes, when you are too far gone, it is just a place to keep you away from other peoples. In the Boy's case, he is so lost in his desillusion that it is easier to keep him locked up in a facility than try to make him understand that he was been misstreated.
Everyone seems to interpret the ending as him “descending into madness”, but I completely disagree. He’s not being locked in a nuthouse where nobody’s dealing with him anymore ever again, he’s being put away as an adolescent inpatient for his and other’s safety until he can successfully re-learn his way of living. Granted, the rules and structure mirror the traumatic environment he was raised in and this could either help or make it worse, but ultimately he’s not locked up there and done away with. I’d assume there’s therapists working with him in the interim to help break down a lot of the things he’s learned about the world. His mindset is not irrecoverable. He’s experienced extreme trauma and has an altered state of reality that he has no reference for because he’s never lived anywhere else. It’s going to take a LOT to teach him the way the world actually operates depending on how old he is, but when given enough time he will start to heal. This feels like one bump in the road for this pony on the long unfortunate journey to recovery he’ll have to make. The whole situation is really just, tragic.

You know its a good fic when you want more to read after the end. You know its a good reading when you scream at the computer "No! No! No! That cant be it, dammit". Amazing story and amazing reading keep it up scribs ;3
They don't even show his mother in this fic, leaving me with horrifying thoughts of what living with her must of been like. That's the key to a good physiological story, show don't tell! This also gotten me to question wether or not it was right to interrupt his life, sure it was odd having him chained in the backyard...really odd. But the alternative led only to suffering and madness, but again we're not all that sure how bad his home life was so its hard to say.

It may be more humane to completely blank his psyche leaving most of the higher cortex untouched so his personality could be rebuilt; not too unlike Phaderus in the book Zen and the art of Motorcycle Maintenance, I need to start using less obscure references...

Love that artwork! Was it done with coloured pencils? I really like how Roseluck's mane/tail were done in more then just one colour. Also the roses being red and pink was a nice touch.

Really sorry this is so late but I saw nobody else replied to you, basically so far as I can tell, this story is about a guy who has a terrible parent who keeps him locked up around the house, but as its all he has ever known, it's what he likes. As he talks with RoseLuck he grows obsessed with her, more and more she clouds his thoughts and when he's freed from the chains, something he sees as bad in his twisted world, his obsession with her turns to anger and he is taken away for attacking her. Now, he continues to obsess over her, and begins stalking her around town and to her house, his twisted mind dreaming of hurting her and locking her up as he was locked up, all the while not seeing another wrong with his creepy and dark obsessions. Hope this helped in some mate.

The last this story implies he's in a mental hospital. Probably for the best, sure he's not so dangerous by the end but he can't really function in normal pony society. I mean he doesn't even try to understand life beyond a yard, so he's fine were he is. And horrifyingly implying that he might of been better where he was but that's just speculation, we don't really know how bad it was with him mum, we didn't see her.

I've seen half of abuse in stories being about beatings and drinking dad's. Just seeing this a nice change. It makes alot of sense.
