I don't know that I can agree with that. As I've gotten older I have noticed that I've become much more compassionate and concerned for the happiness of others. Maybe that simplistic homily might stand for some cases but I'd like to think that with enough time to see an even bigger part if the picture many people would only grow more benevolent. Immortality may make some actions seem evil but again, with the perspective of time, it's difficult to say what benefits of experience we could gain.
To all those who are broken out of the mood of the story by Twilight's voice actress: I have a solution which may help. When listening to this story, I like to imagine that Twilight's voice actress took a few liberties with the story, and purposely added the speech impediment to her performance. She did this to hint that Twilight had been affected by the age magic, as a kind of backfire/side effect of using it on her friends. While Twilight's physical size had grown to match her power, her emotional self had regressed, and her voice was a reflection of that inward change. To me it's all the more tragic and terrifying that Celestia is facing down her former student, who has become a mad mare with the power of a god and the temper of a five year old.

What Princess Twilight was doing was no different than murder. Which is all the more the tragedy of this tale.
This was so sad! Poor twilight just went insane. Although, I am glad celestia didn't do what I was worried she was going to at the end. Thank Celestia for that.
This story has a sad, but very true moral. Hanging on to something you love or have grown attached to forever can end in the worst possible senario. This even applies for things you love that are living. Those things if kept forever will soon die, but doing something to keep it alive will only hurt them. If someone you love has died you must let go or the pain will take you.
Oh my goodness. I often try to evade darkfics personally, but as always, some pretty sterling work, Scribbler. Only little thing was Twilight's voice in this one, it sounded off in some manner, but it didn't detract from the fic. I look forward, as always, to the next offering.

Just like always Obab, I love your readings. Buttt.... something that turned me off from the story was twilights voice. She sounded more like shes from new jersey then canterlot. This was such a sad story. As an alicorn Twilight would never age wanted to keep her friends young forever which is why she casted that age spell on them. She was selfish but it was understandable why she did it. It’s a shame that Celestial had to kill her to save them, and how she and Twilight weren’t close anymore. But in stopping Twilight she gave her friends their lives back, and even though they would die one day they’d see each other again.
