I’m assuming that there’s some sort of impending attack, fast approaching bad weather or something of the like but leaving someone out in the open in such a dangerous situation, where they could be hurt or even killed...that’s cruel and disturbing. Poor Scootaloo could have potentially been left to die because apple bloom decided to be petty against a bully.

Well that was awfully short. And...we're supposed to just guess what happens afterwards, even so I'm a slight bit disappointed with the ending since I prefer actually knowing what happens instead of guessing what happens.
I know this post is old but I just wanted to say my 2 cents... In many cases I agree with you but in the case of horror I love open endings... If done well like in this fic it stays with you... it makes you think and creeps you out more by leaving the person to come to there own conclusions which sometimes creeps you out more than anything the author can supply (not putting down authors out there just saying are own minds are worst enemies)... In other cases it can also leave room for a sequel... This is done very well in the video game series dead space... Which I'm very much hoping gets a 4th installment sometime down the line...

Not an mlp fan, but me and my friend watched this (he had to tell me all the names). Basically Applebloom thought she would leave Diamond Tiara outside because the thought it was a drill, but she realised it was a real disaster and she had accidentally left Scootaloo outside to die instead.

Yeah Open Endings are too much like Cliffhangers but really not but just implied horror.
