I think you were in Sudriman area right? Those are mainly Chinese Indonesian area. Alot of foods there are chinese Indonesian food. Their foods usually has alot of pork
That’s right - could be a good explanation… though all of the shop fronts had the “no pork or lard” sign which was rather contradictory. Nonetheless, no harm done (in my case)

Hey everyone! This is my visit to the so-called "Paris of Java!" Checked out the city vibes, explored Trans Studio theme park, and ended with some Nasi Goreng. Anyone else been to Trans Studio theme park in Bandung? What'd you think?
if you are still in bandung you can try ride Bandros Bandung Tour On Bus or go to Paris Van Java shopping Mall in bandung. and many more things in bandung City.
Someday if you return if you happened to Indonesia again, have a visit Dunia Fantasy (DUFAN) on taman impian jaya ancol its kind like Jakarta's Disneyland, also Sea World on Ancol 😊
Wow! So close to Jakarta, I will definitely do that the next time I’m in your great capital city. Thank you so much for the suggestion friend. Terima kasih
no, because Bogor are to near to Jakarta and there's universicty ( IPB ) there , Bogor now little overcrowding , but Dago are reserved area for dutch colonialist summer house until now @@InvestedAdventure
This is interesting - admittedly though I was there on a Monday afternoon, so perhaps the quietest point of their week. Nonetheless, its nice to think that I may have brought a little custom to them that they might otherwise be lacking as they emerge from the pandemic. Cool place, great city.
Thank you so much for confirming this - I intuitively thought it was, before remembering that I was in Java… you don’t think it was a ‘joke’ they played on me, do you? I could quite easily have been Muslim, or Jewish, for all they knew (I’m neither, fwiw, but like to abide by local customs). This should be known to anyone eating at food street there. I will pin this. Thank you
@@InvestedAdventure Sudirman street in Bandung is one of the few places in Indonesia where you can find pork dishes. Most dishes there are Chinese derived. Indonesia is a Muslim majority country but sometimes you can find places that serves pork. The word "babi" suggests pork and it was written everywhere so they didn't play a joke on you, they just assumed you knew what you were getting! Haha!
25:50 I thought he was making a joke. he said chicken but I thought there was no chicken there. but the other guy who was the chef didn't make a joke. maybe they think you are Christian. Even though Indonesia is predominantly Muslim, there are places for people to sell pork because many Chinese or Christians like to eat pork. In my opinion, Chinese people in Indonesia are richer than non-Chinese, so many try to sell pork If there is a place with a sign saying no pork or lard, it is to explain to Muslim consumers that it is halal. but if it says "babi", it means pork in indonesia language
@@InvestedAdventurewell because in Indonesia if you are white then ppl automatically would think you are Christian which is weird. An english tourist (white muslims( came to Istiqlal mosque before and the security automatically told him that the mosque is closed (for tourist) not knowing he is muslim

Trans Studio has become significantly empty since COVID and hasn't recovered yet...this affected many Transmart malls locations as well

the red meat is pork. it is not authentic nasi goreng. the authentic one of course not using pork

What? Nasi Goreng is nasi goreng. It's about the rice, not the complements

Sorry sir, but your camera movement is too fast, it makes me dizzy. I'm sorry, you need to improve it more to make it better.
I’m still learning, thanks for the feedback!
It's so empty aye
