Yeah, I knew this was coming, I only got into the series with 5, but I've seen soooo many people get into Reload from Golden, Royal, Strikers, Tactica, and even Smash, the hype for Persona is real, now would be the PERFECT time to reveal P6...oh, and P5 Royal Racing
I imagine they would want most of their marketing to go towards Metaphor for at least a little bit right now, but Persona 6 has SO much potential rn
At this point they'll probably make a Persona 4 remake before Persona 6

As someone who has played p3p before reload, I can say I liked the story but the gameplay was frustratingly unfun to play sometimes, now that reload is out, it not only fixed most of the issues I had with P3, but they made the game look gorgeous. I am seriously addicted to this game help
I finished portable right before Reload came out and so far just the simple act of HAVING cutscenes is making the story way more compelling as well, but just the new touches they did for Reload have smoothed it out a ton. Can't wait to play more
I also played both. It’s nice to have cutscenes but I appreciate the streamlined process of P3P as a visual novel as well. Both are solid in their own ways. Plus if you’re on a budget, I would recommend P3P first and then picking up Reload on a sale.
yeah, true. No more mudo surprise BS. The game is way more balanced now.
I played FES for my first P3 playthrough, my biggest issue was the exhaustion mechanic leaving me abandoned by my team in Tartarus every night, and the lack of party control in battle was mildly infuriating.
tried persona 5 on a whim because my internet was down and i was looking for a game picked it up from a used store, and rest is history had an amazing time, and 3 is getting better and better with each hour.
Seeing Persona 3 Reload doing so well, along with games like Granblue Relink and Like a Dragon 8, player wise and sales wise, only gives me hope for Metaphor, later in the year. This year is shaping up to be the year of RPGs, so far.
Even though I'm still getting used to the new cast, I absolutely love how they still included the old cast. So far I've been able to spot 3 of the old cast in a few different roles. Yukari's old VA is playing the antique shopkeeper, and also played one of Mitsuru's maids. The MC's OG voice, who also played Yosuke, now plays Yukari's father. And Shinjiro's VA is now playing Mitsuru's father. I've even heard Makoto Nijima's VA a few times too. Still keeping an ear out for cameos from Akihiko, Ken, and Fuka's VA's, though I wouldn't be surprised at all if I don't hear Junpei's. I highly suspect it's the drama with Junpei's VA that caused them to change the cast in the first place.
Not sure about ken's and fuka's, but Akihiko's old VA actually voices Officer Kurosawa! Which is kinda funny since Akihiko is the one who introduced us to him xD

Simple reason why: P3R is the first mainline Persona game to come Worldwide out on the same day + not being Exclusive to 1 Console but to all console and PC (Except Switch)

Been wanting this exact remake for years too, so bought it on day one. And the possibility of a similar remake for P1 and P2 has me stoked as well.
@DisagereetoAgree New OSTs would slap so fucking hard. We definitely need a P4 Rewind.
P2 remake will be having a HUGE issue regarding the guy with a silly moustache.

I started Persona with P3P on a PSP back then… then I bought a Vita for P4G and a PS4 for P5.
Being a PC player first, I'm glad the licence is now free from console exclusives.
To me what explains the success of this release is that it's the first fully multi-platform (PC included) and multilingual release of a mainline game.
All major languages at once for all platforms.
As a reminder, P3P/P4G/P5 got released in Europe… in English only, and P5 came in the West like one year after the Japanese version, while P5R came to PC 3 years after the PS4.

Give golden and royal a shot too, personally played in the reverse order but loved them both, easily in my top games list, and as far as series go easily in my top three as a whole series, sorta a tie for mass effect,persona, and borderlands

Still wild to me that a previously hard PlayStation exclusive is now releasing day one gamepass.
Yeah I'm glad Persona is becoming multiplatform but it is wild to think that it's no longer just a playstation title

Persona 3 is my favorite game in the Persona series, even more so than Persona 5/Royal. Persona 5 was my first introduction to the series thanks to Smash Ultimate bringing Joker in Smash. I loved that game very much that I wanted to give the other games a try. I played Persona 3 FES in preparation of P3 Reload and I didn’t expect to love it more than Persona 5. Although it has aged, I loved the game very much for the story, characters, and themes. I haven’t touched The Answer yet but one day, I will before the DLC of The Answer comes out. After that, I played Persona 3 Portable Remaster Port (not the best way to play it but it was my only way of playing P3P.) to see more of what P3 has to ofter before P3 Reload was released. When I played it on the Female route, it was one of my favorite experiences in P3 in general. Sure the story doesn’t hit as hard since it was done in a visual novel but I still cried in the end regardless. Because of that, I consider Persona 3 in general to not just be my favorite Persona game but my favorite video game of all time. Now that I'm playing P3 Reload, I can safely say that it is a faithful remake and I'm loving it. My only issue is while the game is still new, I do wish that The Answer and Female Main Character were included but it’s not a big deal to me since I'm enjoying it so far. I'm grateful that we got a remake that respects the original and I hope it continues to amaze me and other people as well.

Isn't Persona 3 Reload the first mainline Persona game to be released Worldwide? Maybe this was the real reason why it sold 1 million copies.
This is my first dive into Persona 3. I saw clips of the original game, the dancing game, and have the original Mass Destruction on a playlist. I got into Persona starting with 5, then 5 Royal. I’m loving Reload thus far and I’m sure that I will all the way through it. Cheers.
The west gotta take notes, atlus was able to rerelease 1 game 3 times but ppl will still show up if story and love for characters is that good
So far I love persona 3 and i never played persona 3 my hope for persona 6 is they add more romance scenes

idk man these games really just make me feel better. especially after covid. world kinda got weird. then i put on persona and i'm just vibing through the ceiling
world got weird and persona gave a sense of normalcy of life in an abstract really anime sense but it makes sense to me cause I feel the same.
im new to persona and atlus as a whole, i got the game on game pass and im in october. ive enjoyed this game so much i started digging into the franchise as a whole and the second i finish it on game pass im gonna buy it on steam or something (hopefully by then its on sale im a uni student so poor lmao).
im not well off in terms of money but i dont want to be spoiled for story either so for me as long as atlus put their games on gamepass (preferably day 1) i will play them, if any game they put out is even half as good as P3 reload i'll be buying it as soon as i finish it on gamepass. they get a sale and i get a game that i'll end up putting another 100-200 hours in even after having already beat. its literally a win win for company and consumer.
im hoping SMT5 Vengence (and also Metaphor refantazio) is a day 1 game pass, i still havent been spoiled for that game and i want to play it but again, ive not got a lot of money but more than enough to spend on a game ive played and know i'll keep enjoying.
there is a good chance i skip on buying p3 reload right after beating it and instead buy P5R or P4G to play (as they're a little cheaper rn) and then buy P3 reload a little while later. all in all i will eventually fully buy all the games as quick as i can spare the cash. its almost like putting out good products that i can enjoy despite not being a console gamer makes me (and i assume others) buy your product!
I want to see a persona 2 remake but the problem is as much as I love persona 2 I don’t like the combat.
I’m not particularly happy with a lot of changes in Persona 3 reload around combat and Tartarus but they’re free to do whatever they want with Persona 2 as long as the story is the same. I’m sure changing too much in persona 2 would make a lot of people upset maybe but I’m not those people
When I say I love Persona 2. I mean Eternal Punishment
I would rather get innocent sin and eternal punishment in the same remake. Yeah I want the Hitler game uncensored

In Persona 5 Royal that is, but in reload merciless is definitely harder than hard in all aspects.
I spent 100 bucks for this game. Even though I played all the other persona 3s.... they did a fantastic job on this remake. Can't wait for persona 4 rewatch.

My brother in christ... they already had with p3fes, p3 portable, p3 dancing, p3 remaster and now with reload and lets not forget all the dlc related to p3 in other games
You need to remember Mullis is this game was the first in the series to push the shool life, working and fighting shadows to the next level. This was also considered the darkest tone in the series. This game was the only one the aged poorly and had the least amount of quality of life improvements, it now stands along the other 2 (P4 and P5) and to that end, please those who played the original, enjoy this one while getting those who may not want to play the original, can now play this with improvements over the original one.
Portable has its place as the only way to play the female storyline. Im happy I got a physical copy of PSP on PS4. Goes nice with Persona 3 Reload.
I feel like this game is definitely the strongest story/character-wise of the modern persona games (haven’t played 1 or 2). The message of the story and how you don’t have forever so you should live everyday to fullest is a really meaningful and inspirational message for me at least
I actually played p3p after playing the OG p4 on ps2 back in the day so, this is and isn't new as I did the FeMC route, but I think Re:Load is uh, way better
Atlus is really showing why they're the current kings of turn based RPGs.
Now if only they could valm doen on their dlc practices.
This was mainly because of the focus put on the game. The marketing was great, it's multi platform, it's a game that so many people love, it is updated to the standard of a game that brought people into the series recently, good story, good characters, did decisions that made a large amount of people happy without downright alienating too many people... They were trying hard to make this game successful. If everyone did this with big games, gaming would explode again
I just spent the last 11 hours playing this game. I'd still be playing if my eyes weren't so sore.
So some are hoping if persona 3 reload sell extremely well then they might put FEMC in the game later on down the line. Only time will tell
Would be cool, but I imagine thye would have to do a whole bunch of voice over for that for all the other characters, still would like them to do it

I just found out about persona with P4 Golden back in 2019 and I’m a huge gamer I can’t believe I never knew about this series and it’s greatness
im interested to see what the sales were on PS and xbox since its on game pass im guessing most of those were on PS .

It's a great franchise and hopefully they remember that 1 and 2 exist so I can try those games as well lol. but 4 and 5 are both amazing imo. Glad you are enjoying reload and hope you enjoy p5!
The real SS justice league game
A main draw for me IS the dlc personas. I miss izanagi okami but as long as I have op Personas so I can play through easily I will continue to.plat cause I buy their games mostly for the story music with gameplay last. I enjoy it but such long games? I don't want to struggle.

I was really excited for this game, but it's been pretty lackluster for me so far. I loved Persona 4 and 5 but this one so far isn't really impressing me. It could just be that I'm fairly early into the game, I've only just gotten Fuuka unlocked. But one of the biggest gripes I have with the game is the social links. It feels like there's so reason to do them. In 4 and 5, each encounter gave you some sort of reward, but in this game you don't get anything until you max out the social link. Speaking of social links, most of them haven't been very interesting individuals to begin with, most of them are pretty dull and unattractive.
The social links and early game pacing is one of my biggest issues with P3P as well and am hoping it was improved in some way for Reload, just got to May so I'm still really early on as I've been farming Tartarus a bunch, but it may just be an issue too big to fix without completely altering the base P3 stories
@@JMulls yeah I'm in june and the game hasn't really been that eventful. I don't want to compare to other persona games, but there was so much more to do and get better rewards in 4 and 5 by this point. it just feels like im doing the same thing everyday in reload so far. this is also my first time playing 3 so i'm hoping it gets better considering how beloved this entry is for the fandom. even though this is a remake i'm not seeing the hype so far.
it gets so much better story wise but but things to do in free time start to suck even more as the game progresses

Is it only me that think the graphic is a mixed bag? Some scenes looks great but some are horrible. The scenes on the beach and the dorm doesn't are really bad. This doesn't look like a Playstation 5 game.
The levels of Tartarus gets boring very fast.
The fighting scenes are great.
I'm holding off on discussing my specific thoughts till after I get more time in the game but there are a few scenes I've noticed even a the point I'm at where the character models and the shadows on them look really weird and just off, like the shadows don't line up or make the face look too 2d if that make sense. I do like the overall art style though but there is def room for improvement and I think their biggest... bottleneck though I'm not sure that's the right word, is they need to find a way to get more performance out of their lighting and now reflections. The art style may have been intentional since they wanted it moreso inline with persona 5 and not be like the jump from p4 to p5 and want to save something like that for persona 6, not sure how much I like that excuse but I do like how the game looks overall personally
How are companies not pushing for *Multi-Platform,* especially for popular AAA games that has a long stable history and fanbase. Makes no sense, unless they are bound by contract agreement.
This game came out a long time ago, and even I played the OG when I was like 9-10yo... Time flies and finally after all these years, we get at least a remake. I believe that a lot of people were waiting for this! And I'm here for it! Not suprised why is it dominating so far :)
I played FES to death on the PS2 lol. And when I saw the P3 and P4 protag models in Persona 5, I wanted a remake in the style of P5 so badly. Having played the original like 10 times all the way through, this is the best it's ever been. Loving it.
I pre-purchased the game before its release because I trust that they will do a really good job on it. I can't wait for Metaphor later this year!

They've made 8 Whole games/rereleases/updates/ports centered around P3. The absolute most they could still do is make a P3 DLC to P4 Arena Ultimax and make a DLC for The Answer for P3R. It's booming because of how popular P5 was. And with how P3 ends; they can't make a sequel game like they did with Strikers. This will probably trigger a remake of Persona 4 though. Id bet my lifes savings that we get a p4 remake before we get Persona 6

I was going to buy this day 1, then when i found out the answer was noy going to be included, i decided not to buy it at all. I find it really distasteful that they'd not include it in a remake that theyre charging $70 for. But since no one else seems to care that they're atlus is going to nickel and dime us with dlc it sold the best ever. Fuck me for trying to vote with my wallet i guess
This 1,000,000 copies is yet another reasons why we will eventually get a P4R.

LOL, I imagine some of that would carry over with just swapping where you go for the social stats since the restaurants and part time work are really good in this game... now the eternal struggle between trying to min max my stats and social stats while also doing the new hangouts with the characters will be a balance I need to strike lol

I'm personally playing it on game pass because WAY too much is coming out next couple months lol, but I think it's the same thing as with Palworld, where while yeah game pass is a good deal and the game is available, people en masse still largely buy the game and/or use Steam instead
