I just made a deal on a 65 Ranchero missing parts of the floor pan here and there. I like the way you braced the floor on that one. I think I’m going to adopt, “your way,” when replacing mine. Thanks for the content.
Yup. Same base platform with these and the comets and mustangs and so on. Nice to have options with these rides. We opted for the from scratch floors to fit the customers needs.
New to body work I’m have a 2004 f350 with a rusted out drive side floor pan thinking about using 16 gauge hot rolled is there any reason that wouldn’t work or would cold roll be better?
I am building floor pans for my 55 Chevy right now then I am doing a 62’ Chevy 2 with a floor about like you started with and I am building subframe connectors and custom flat floor panels. I would be interested in more custom floor pan videos.
We should have some coming up soon. I'm always a sucker for simple and effective. I wish I could do custom floors in all customer cars haha. Hopefully we will have a hot rod floor from scratch and we can donaome cool stuff with the brake, bead roller and slip roller
@@greasyboykustoms awesome. I have been thinking about doing floors in a car like this for a few years and I finally found this. Keep up the great work.
You did an excellent job on that Lil Truck. I bought one Just like it 3 weeks ago out of south oklahoma with no rust in it, and it is a Factory V8 260 engine with an original the borg warner 4 speed. The first year they put the 4 speed in them. So happy to got the truck it is all original. Once again Nice Work..!
It is very similar. As long as the inner rockers are solid and the car is braced while doing the work the. You should be able to do your floors this way as well. Keep in mind that with them being custom pans that things like seat mounts and seat belt anchors will need to be made as well.
I did not. Only because the main supports were solid , pillars were solid,, doors didn't sag and the rockers were solid. . If it was any worse than this I would have. It's never a bad idea to brace it just incase
Please tell me about welding the panels ? What type welder did you use butt ,? Any lap joint, . After you drilled the holes how did you fill them in ? Did you grind them ?? Was this mig , tig , stick thank you Ray
Do you use Cleos ? Or duz Fasteners for transmission tunnel or any of the flooring appear to be that way looks like he just weld and everything together so if you had to move your tunnel how would you get it apart I really like the job you did it’s fantastic I’m stoked I have a 68 the rusted floor didn’t really feel like putting in individual floor pans or an original floor plan I like what you did if you can give me a little info on it I would appreciate it thanks brother

;Love the simplistic approach, would have like to see more of the process though
I may have a similar one very soon. I'll be sure to dive in a little more in the video
Awesome job. I love the simple custom made floors.
I am doing the same car. Floorpan used was for 65 mustang.

Question did you weld floor panels underneath car too ??
Yes. Welded the structure pieces all the way around. Floor is also tac welded to structure

Can your floor design be done in any car ??? I really liked it I have 68 Plymouth valiant
Yes in most cars you can reinvent the floors as you need. Obviously it still needs to be a solid structure and work with all your components.
One more thing actually two 1, didn’t see floor Rolls and how did you weld this all up , mig, tig , stick ? Spot welder???
I use a mig setup. I have a 220 welder but a 110 is suitable
You’re doing a great job , I would like to have the time to do it on my classic
The floor support was pretty legit DD!
Almost counts as sub frame connectors haha

How much did you pay for it if you don’t mind me asking?
Would this type floor work for an A body mopar ?? ( 68 ply val )

Great job , I’m trying to do mine , will see
Nice job I’m looking for the same thing
Just curious did you brace it up before cutting out the pans and original bracing? Amateur asking 😎

Weld them up and grind them down

I use clicos sometimes. Other wise I used vise grip c clamps or push the panel down with hammer to hold it in place
